Yesterday I caught Kyogre in Emerald, and it has a Lax nature (+atk, -sp. d). I know that special defense is one of Kyogre's strengths so obviously this nature stinks. But I wanted to maybe replace my Vaporeon (sweeper/tank) with it since it's special d can still be good. I know it's special attack is good too so I'm wondering if this is a good decision?

This is in the wrong forum.
About your question, yes, that's a sucky nature for Kyogre.
I would recommend this.
Kyogre @ Leftovers
Modest Nature
150 Sp.Def 252 Sp.Atk 6 HP 102 Def
-Surf/Water Spout
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Calm Mind
But ubers are often rejected in competitive battling, so putting your time to EV train it is most likely a waste.

k thanks man. i wanted at least 1 legendary on my team but w/e it's no problem, i like my team right now it's just that Vaporeon's special attack isn't as high as i thought it'd be.

That's why you breed for good IVs/Natures.
Good luck working on your team!

Hold on, Kyogre has Thunder over Thunderbolt. It paralyzes more, its more power, and it has 100% accuracy in the rain. Use Thunder.

I like Aqua Tail on my CSOgre. Blissey is a terrible without it.

Uh, lax nature is +defense, not attack. I guess the nature isn't THAT bad. Thunder is best on Kyogre.

nm don't worry about it, I replaced Vaporeon with Yanmega, I already have an Ice Beamer and stuff so since I never use bug Pokemon i thought Yanmega would be cool.

Really it's not a good nature for Kyogre. But I don't care, I don't use legendaries, because raised Pokémon are strongest.
I don't know if Yanmega is strong, because I don't play D/P (I don't have it) But looks that he has Ancientpower, does it learn more attacks like this? If it does, he's not weak.
One question: Do you have any Pokémon for Surf and these Water HM's? If you don't, you could use Vaporeon for these.

Don't call him a noob because he got a bad nature. It is random. He could try to catch it over and over for hours until he got modest, but he didn't, so oh well.
