I want to have this EV set for my Torterra

EVs: 252 HP / 148 Atk / 108 Def

but the problem is normally I max out the first two stats and give the third 4 EV’s.

So my questions are :
- If I have a Pokemon holding a Macho Brace how many battles against Pokemon that give +2 EV points would I need to get 149 Atk?
- If I have a Pokemon holding a Macho Brace how many battles against Pokemon that give +2 EV points would I need to get 108 Def?

It's all simple math. =/

Macho Brace doubles all EVs gained. So you'd get +4 EVs per battle. Divide the number of EVs you want by 4. Not that hard.

So 37 for attack and 27 Defence?

Can anyone offer me some more help on this?

Just use poketch app # 11 to count the EV gain from each battle.

But I don't know how many I need?

?? You just posted the EV spread. If you kill a gastrodon and ur holding a macho brace, add 4. Gastrodon normally gives 2 EVs for HP and with the macho brace its doubled to 4..

Math it up. 4 EVs per battle, X battles, 108 EVs total. 108/4=27.
In the same way, 4 EVs per battle, X Battles, 148 EVs total. 148/4=37.

27 battles for defense, 37 for attack.

(I know you keep saying 149 instead of 148, but that wouldn't add up. I used the value from your first post.)

Thank you for the help Bishopk?

This is without vitemins correct?

Right. With 10 vitamins, it's 2 battles for Defense, and 12 for Attack.

And you are 100% certain on this? I don't mean to question you it's just taken a while to get my Torterra to this point.

Each Vitamin gives 10 EVs in that stat, meaning that by using the maximum of 10 Vitamins, you will gain 100 EVs. If each battle you gain 4 EVs, this cuts out 25 battles (100/4).

for example.. if i wanted 252 satk, 252 spd, 4 hp on gengar i would do this.

golduck gives 2 satk evs. so to get 152 satk evs, battle it 38 times with the macho brace, or 78 times without the macho brace. then use 10 calcium to get 252 satk evs.

poliwhirl gives 2 spd evs. so to get 152 spd evs, battle it 38 times holding the macho brace, or 78 times without the macho brace.

finally.. wooper gives 1 hp ev. so to get 4 hp evs, battle it 2 times with the macho brace, or 4 times without. therefore giving you a gengar with 252 satk, 252 spd, 4 hp evs. i hope this example helped you to understand effort values.

I understand that but I want an EV spread of 252 HP / 148 Atk / 108 Def.

Then just EV train it for that. The math is very simple, so you shouldn't have a problem figuring it out. Vitamins and the macho brace help speed things up...A LOT.

I gave you the math, Bossman gave you an example (which I found to be a little confusing, if we already gave him the math, he doesn't need an example, does he?)

if I give a pokemon 10 vitiimins for both stats?

- If I have a Pokemon holding a Macho Brace how many battles against Pokemon that give +2 EV points would I need to get 149 Def?
- If I have a Pokemon holding a Macho Brace how many battles against Pokemon that give +2 EV points would I need to get 108 SDef?

umm its simple math and i think people already did some examples. not that hard =/

This thread AGAIN??? But yes, it is simple math.
