Hey, I'm new to the site. Just joined yesterday. I've got this team on shoddy battle that's doing ok, but needs more work. I would like to eventually use this on wifi too. I'm still a newbie at competitive battling, so go easy. :kec:
Team revision.... #2
Timid Crobat
Inner Focus
158 hp/252 spd/100 satk
Leftovers
- Dark Pulse
- Hypnosis
- Mean Look
- Taunt
I've decided to give up on the baton pass thing because everyone seems to have a good counter to it now. I've been experimenting with different starters today and crobat is my current favorite. I'm still looking for that "perfect starter" for my team though. Along with evs and a good moveset.
Jolly Weavile
Pressure
6 hp/252 atk/ 252 spd
Life Orb
- Aerial Ace
- Brick Break
- Ice Punch
- Pursuit
Standard set. He gets the job done.
Timid Alakazam
Synchronize
6 hp/252 spd/252 atk
Life Orb
- Focus Blast
- Grass Knot
- Psychic
- ???
I want to try something different with zam, so I want a non-attacking move... something like t-wave (popular on my team), knockoff, taunt, etc. Any suggestions?
Calm Togekiss
Serene Grace
252 hp/252 def/6 sdef
Leftovers
- Air Slash
- Thunder Wave
- Tri Attack
- Wish
I'm open to any other suggestions for good wishers who can use T-wave. Kiss was doing better on my old team than he is on my new revised team.
Adamant Donphan
Sturdy
252 hp/158 atk/100 def
Leftovers
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Roar
- Thunder Fang
I'm really unsure of the evs I should give this guy.
Sassy Slowking
Own Tempo
252 hp/58 satk/200 sdef
Life Orb
- Flamethrower
- Surf
- Thunder Wave
- Slack Off
He's a wall, has my only fire move and my only water move. I'm not too sure on his evs either.
Well, that's it for my team right now. Thanks for taking the time to read it, and helping me if you can.

Yea... I usually end up losing 2-3 pokemon to him.
How do I fix that then?

Adamant Ninjask
Speed Boost
252 HP/ 252 ATK/ 4 SPEED
Leftovers
- Baton Pass
- X-Scissor
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
I use him to start off with protect, then sub to increase speed. If I can, I try to get a swords dance or too off (but this rarely ever happens). If all goes well, I can pass the speed and attack onto another pokemon. If he gets roared away, then ninjask is pretty much useless. LOLing to Focus sash and Substitute. It needs one attacking move, and thats X-Scissor. Its speed is way too high and can't be outrun by any pokemon except Deoxys. Which is Uber.
Jolly Weavile
Pressure
252 ATK/252 SPEED/ 4 HP
Life Orb
- Brick Break
- Ice Punch
- Night Slash
- Aerial Ace/Crush Claw
If I can get ninjask to boost up both speed and attack, weavile is pretty good. Especially ice punch, which is the move I use most on him. If I can't use ninjask, IMO he's useless. He dies quickly and doesn't do much damage. Two of my other pokemon have better fighting moves. So either I need to completely rework him... or get somebody else. Aerial Ace takes care of Heracross while Crush claw always lowers DEF(almost). You could use Focus Sash/Swords dance over Aerial Ace/Crushclaw.
Timid Alakazam
Synchronize
6 hp/252 spd/252 atk
Life Orb
- Focus Blast
- Energy Ball
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball/HP electric
If I can get a bunch of speed passed from ninjask, this dude is crazy. If I can't then he's still good, but gengar OHKO's him before he can even lift a finger. Should I go timid over modest? Trick is pretty good against blissey, who I can trick away leftovers, synchronize any paralysis she might inflict, then focus blast. Besides that though, it doesn't get much use. Its already fast enough and doesn't need a Speed Boost.
Timid Togekiss
Serene Grace
252 hp/252 def/6 sdef
Leftovers
- Air Slash
- Thunder Wave
- Aura Sphere
- Wish/Roost
Kiss rocks. He can take a couple of thunderbolts before going down. Baton passing wish is extremely helpful and makes him a great support for my team. Air slash flinch hax is really cool when it kicks in. Flamethrower is mainly filler, but is sometimes useful. I was thinking of taking off some def and giving him more sdef. Wish's effect can be transfered without a Baton Pass. Just Switch out so Baton Pass is a waste of a moveslot.
Adamant Staraptor
Intimidate
60 hp/252 atk/198 spd
Choice Scarf
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- Double-Edge
- U-Turn
Rap is not as fast as I thought he would be, so he is often outsped buy his counters, which is why I was thinking of changing his nature. I thought double-edge was a good move, but I never seem to use it. Whirlwind is great when someone else is trying to stat-up and baton pass, like enemy ninjasks. U-turn can just swap in with dangerous foes.

Adamant Ninjask
Speed Boost
6 hp/252 atk/252 spd
Focus Sash
- Baton Pass
- Protect
- X-Scissor
- Swords Dance
Dont let that 306 attack go to waste, he doesnt need to be jolly because no one is going to outspeed him anyway after a protect.
Jolly Weavile
Pressure
129 hp/252 atk/129 spd
Life Orb
- Brick Break
- Ice Punch
- Pursuit
- Aerial Ace
Without AA, Heracross runs this over, plus pursuit is better to catch pkmn on the swith, aka dead gengar
Modest Alakazam
Synchronize
6 hp/252 spd/252 atk
Choice Specs
- Focus Blast
- Grass Knot
- Psychic
- Charge Beam (Helps much against Gyarados who will run you over if you dont stop it before it sets up, plus a +1 in Spa every shot is never a bad thing)
Calm Togekiss
Serene Grace
252 hp/252 def/6 sdef
Leftovers
- Air Slash
- Baton Pass
- Nasty Plot
- Wish
you might as well let him pass a nasty plot if you're running a BPer.
Adamant Staraptor
Intimidate
60 hp/252 atk/198 spd
Choice Scarf
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- Return
- U-Turn
Staraptor isn't bulky enough to take a hit and whirlwind the opponent out, U-Turn is much better free damage and a switch, takes care of Zam and a weak T-Tar. Return over Double Edge because you already have Brave Bird and Star doesnt need any more recoil.
Relaxed Swampert
Torrent
252 hp/202 def/ 56 spa
Leftovers
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Earthquake
- Surf
you have 4 things weak to rock, 3 to electric and ice, this covers those types and gives you some tanking ability, if you dont want a Stealth Rocker (which you might need), take it out for Rest
[Quote/]
I also noticed that Stealth Rock Destroys this team, Ninjask loses 50%, togekiss and Staraptor 25%...You need a spinner badly, I reccomend Forretress, replace Tokegiss with this guy since the only logical thing BPKiss cn pass on this team is Zam and he doesnt really need it.
Hope I helped.

Thanks for the help.
With the stealth rock, rock, electric and ice problem, how about donphan? He can use roar, acts as a spinner, and has earthquake.
Adamant Donphan
Sturdy
252 hp/158 atk/100 def
Leftovers
- Roar
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Thunder Fang
This way I can probably drop staraptor for something better.
Swampert is... meh. Everyone and their mother uses him.
If I did drop kiss I would still need a good wisher.

donphan would be fine, good choice plus if you use donphan in place of swampert u can use blissey in togekiss' place but if you dont want her because she gets whored by every1, Kiss can stay in.

Penguin, Ninjask sorta needs Protect for Speed Boost for Baton Pass, if you are going to suggest an attacking Ninjask, erasing Substitute would be the best option in my opinion
And as for Weavile, Crush Claw has 50% chance, its pretty good, but there is no guarantee that the opponent will faint, even if it did lose its defenses, the opponent will strike you on the next turn, and with Weaviles poor defenses, its not too good of an option
Alakazam your rated... not bad :)
Togekiss looks neat as well, but you might want Grass Knot for the Swampert you cant paralyze
As for Staraptor, Neat as well :)
and since you didnt rate Swampert, I'll go ahead and do that for you O.o
Swampert
Item : Leftovers
Nature : Brave/Adamant/Relaxed/Impish
Moves :
Earthquake
Curse
Avalanche
Stone Edge/Brick Break for Reflect/Light Screen Walls

Thanks to everyone for their help so far. I just re-revised my team. Still open for suggestions.
I don't really like swamp mainly because it seems everybody uses him. That double grass weakness also seems to be a pain. IMO.
What about registeel or kecleon (for his high sdef)?
Anti Pop Culture Warrior

Regice has much higher special defense than registeel, though registeel has higher defense. Registeel is a good mixed wall, especially learning amnesia and iron defense.
