View Full Version : composite golems vs channel of the suns?

i think i like channel of the suns (but because kenny is right you get a 4/4 fatty with a killer effect)
i still think it's more playable i mean cmon 4 mana to cast
you save 2 manas
you can play like a naturalize with the extra two

technically speaking, as a mana accelerator, the golem wins. the golem essentially stores 5 mana for you to use next turn. If you don't need it, just throw the 4/4 at them. Channel the suns is just a mana accel for 1 more mana, which is very weak for something costing 4 to begin with.
as a mana converter, channel the suns win. It's jsut that golem costs more than what it brings out.
as endurance, the golem wins. I mean, channel the suns is gone after casting, while the golem is still good for attack.
As variety, teh golem wins. It's just so happens that if you don't need the 5 coloured mana, you can still cast the golem to slap your opponent, where channel the suns is a dead card.
As searching, there are just more stuff that searches for creatures than sorceries. So the golem wins there.
Channel the suns is a rare while golem is uncommon.
T&N decks, IMHO, should run the golems instead of the channel the suns because you can T&N for them, meaning T&N won't be as easily a dead card.
So that's how I feel. Golem wins! :P

no kenny channel the suns is an uncommon too
well it really depends how you play it i mean a 4/4 fatty can be easily killed
June 13th, 2004, 01:02 AM
true, but you can sac it for mana in response also. I just prefer the golem, that's all.
Oh sorry about that, I read All Suns' Dawn. lol
June 13th, 2004, 01:16 AM
lol all suns' dawn
btw it depends if you wanna save mana because i used the golems today and i felt like nothing changed but a 4/4 fatty was in play
June 13th, 2004, 03:02 AM
exactly. For me, nothing really changes except there's a 4/4 fatty in play. That can help push for extra damage if needed, whereas channel the suns would just stay in your hand.
June 13th, 2004, 03:09 AM
but you see it didn't really help me much because my opponent himself had A WHOLE **** LOAD OF CREATURES OUT and it's not like 1 creature would've made a difference
June 13th, 2004, 03:41 AM
It may help push through, but not if you're going up against many ants. But 1 more creature is still 1 mroe creature! :P
June 13th, 2004, 02:32 PM
but it's outrageous 6 to cast??!
June 13th, 2004, 03:46 PM
ummmmm.....you have 4 blooms with 4 cloudposts. Is it that outrageous?
June 14th, 2004, 01:06 AM
lol yeah but usually i have 1 everytime i get my hand out
i'm not joking
i have composite in my hand everytime i play some1
June 14th, 2004, 01:59 AM
lol. It's like a curse or a blessing! :P
June 14th, 2004, 03:51 PM
more of a curse than a blessing but it does seem to help at times
but only when i have enough mana
June 15th, 2004, 09:40 PM
true. But I still think with a 12post style, you should have enough mana to do it.
June 16th, 2004, 04:43 AM
