For those of you who don't know what this song is, it's chorus goes:
I get knocked down,
but I get up again.
You're never gonna keep me down.
(Repeat)
Oh, and it's by CHUMBAWUMBA.

It sounds familiar. Are those lyrics also in a Smashmouth song?

That song is really catchy. I read that and started singing it in my head. Don't think it is the song of the 90s though.

If that's the song of the 90's, then the 90's were way sadder than I thought.

Actually, I believe the song of the 90's would more accurately be described as "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana...
As alternative music would never have been the same in that decade without it...
And I've never heard that song though I know Chumbawumba.

I did say it was tied with "Wannabe" and all that girl powerness. I was just wondering if you liked that song... yep, pretty random. Oh, and it's on ChumbaWumba's album, Tubthumper

It was okay back then, and I'm still just north of indifference to it now. I think what made it cooler in my eyes was the fact that somewhere along the line, I grew out of my naivete and realized that the whole thing was about getting drunk beyond all reason and starting fights because you're too drunk to know when to stop. XD
I agree with the comment about Nirvana, though.

You just can't compress a whole decade (especially the 90's, that were so magnetic) in a single song, let alone a song that strictly delimitates the roots and frontiers of a genre with such a narrow range of those years' musicality(Grunge).

no, that is definitely not THE song of the 90's. it was popular for a year, tops, and it shouldn't have been that popular.
