Is Munchlax the prevolution of Snorlax?

I know this may sound a little stupid, I mean it certainly looks and sounds like it should be, but after honeying a ton of trees and still not finding a munchlax I traded over a snorlax from the Leaf Green game and bred it. I was expecting a munchlax when the egg hatched, but it hatched into a level 1 snorlax... surely they are related in someway. What am I missing?

Snorlax has to be holding a Full incense while breeding or it will just breed more Snorlaxes.

The female Snorlax needs to be holding the Full Incense to make a Munchlax. This can be found in Veilstone City, you need Rock Climb to get it.

Alternatively, Munchlax can be found on Honey trees, albeit very rarely

Ah thanks guys. I wasn't expecting that at all. But I already have the full incense, so I guess I'll be breeding lots of little munchlax's in no time :)

yeah thats right toothache..i always wondered this tho..if u breed too muchlax's without the insence..do you get a snorlax or a baby munch? what about with a ditto?

It won't work. Munchlax is a Baby Pokemon, and therefore can't breed.

Movesets. Munchlax can learn Odor Sleuth, Last Resort, and Stockpile, among other attacks, while Snorlax can't. Of course, it all depends on if you actually want those moves.
