Is it possible to get both Nasty Plot and Hypnosis on Crobat? I saw a couple people arguing over it on another, less-notable forum, and I wanted to see what you guys thought.

It doesn't seem possible. The only parents that learn Hypnosis are Hoothoot and Noctowl (can't learn Nasty Plot), and the only parents that learn Nasty Plot are Honchkrow, Togetic, Togekiss, and Chatot (can't learn Hypnosis).

So can Smeargle. But neither are in Crobat's egg group, meaning neither can breed with Crobat, making the point moot.

but wouldnt you be able to put one on it then breed it again and put another on it example breed with noctowl and give it and you get a male crobat with hypnosis you then breed that with either Honchkrow, Togetic, Togekiss, and Chatot and wouldnt you get a crobat with hypnosis and nasty plot?

Wrong. Only the male can pass on moves. In your example, the Crobat learns Hypnosis. For it to learn Nasty Plot, you'd need to breed a female Crobat with a male Honchkrow/Togetic/Chatot. Since only the male can pass on moves, the Hypnosis on the female Crobat would be lost, meaning the baby would only learn Nasty Plot.

It was deemed impossible when DP came out.
Rusty memory, but one week after it came out in Japan, I was reading a typical "breeding thread" on the Pokemon board on 2chan, and there was a guy who wanted Crobat to have both, but he came to a conclusion that it was impossible.
The reason there are people with both moves on Crobat = they use PAR, or the equivalent.

It's impossible for Crobat to have both Hypnosis and nastyplot in the same moveset. Conversely if the 3rd instalment for d/p is released, game freak may allow crobat to learn hypnosis or nastyplot via level up, then you just breed for the other move. But I doubt that would happen, but you never know. =P
