Anthrax is one of the BEST heavy metal bands of ALL TIME! They're music so awesome, and at times it's also hilarious. They started to suck once they kicked Joey out and replaced him with John Bush. Their 1987 release "Among The Living" is one of the GREATEST metal albums ever made! Anthrax was also one of the first bands to mix heavy metal and hip hop with songs like "I'm The Man" and their legendary 1991 collaboration with Public Enemy on the remake of PE's classic "Bring The Noise".

If you're a metal fan, then these are FOUR Anthrax albums that should be in your music collection!:

Wouldn't call Anthrax the best, but they're decent. My favourite song is Got the Time, because it has an awesome bass part that I must learn. XD

Yeah! That's like my favorite track on "Persistence of Time". Well of the tracks I've heard on it so far, it is. Haven't heard all the songs yet. :)

Anthrax is thrash metal...

Yes of course Anthrax is thrash, but I don't find them as heavy as the other three of the Big Four (Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer). To be honest Anthrax is my least favourite out of the four. Maybe because I'm not that big on rap.

I never liked Slayer. I always thought they stunk and were overrated.

Megadeth are awesome too. "Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?" is one of the greatest metal albums ever made.

My take on the big four (from best to worst) would be Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth then Anthrax.

Slayer's OK, but for some reason I can't stand Megadeth (even though they're heavier than Anthrax) except for Peace Sells, which also has a great bass part (that I know how to play, XD).
