im so teribly sorry if this is classed as spam, or not.
But why was Yata banned? I never knew the Yu-Gi-Oh card in japan was banned.

Yata Garusa I belive, was it just rubbish or something. and are there any other cards that were banned?

ok Seto Girl
i'm the Yata expert around here so let me tell you why it was broken
#1 his stats were 200/100 and because he was a spirit monster it returned to your hand making it immune to magic cards
#2 if it dealt direct damage to your opponent's life point your opponent can't draw
#3 so if your opponent has no cards on his hand and no cards on the field you can lock him with the yata thus creating the term "yata-lock"
he's the cheapest way to win because he's so good

u forgot the fact that he's witch and sangan searchable (like saying it as an explanation why a 200/100 monster is good).

Anyway, other banned cards:

Raigeki
Harpie's Feather Duster
Painful Choice
Cyber Jar
Fibre Jar
Fairy Injection Lily
Change of Heart

I don't remember anymore, but I'm almost certain there is something missing...

okay. The full list:

Fairy Injection Lily
Cyber Jar
Fiber Jar
Yata Garasu
Delinquent Duo
Painful Chioce
Change of Heart
Raigeki
Harpie's Feather Duster
Imperial Decree (Imperial Order in English)

This is indeed the OFFICIAL Konami banned list. :P

Change of Heart is banned? Hm.. I thought Monster Reborn was the replacement of Change of Heart but anyway, no point now. I knew Cyber Jar and Fairy Injection Lily was banned, Harpie's Feather Duster is banned? How unfortunate.

As I said, Yata is the great Johnny/Spike, most Timmys just don't know how to use it well. But they will learn, like the rest of us, why it is banned. :P

Well aside from that HFD is banned due to its ability to absolutely kill any sort of control mechanism in one swift blow. It's unfortunate that YGO had such a broken card to begin with, tho.

And change of heart and mon. reborn have different abilities. I think you were thinking of mesmoric control, which never actually left the anime series.

And I'm surprised nobody commented on the 4th most broken card in YGO: Delinquent Duo.

May I ask what are the effects of Painful Choice and Delinquent Duo? I saw the card of DD and it looked weird but I don't know the effect.

Mesmeric Control on YGO Duelists of Roses is incredibly strong, I got it in my real deck but its chinese >.0

Why is Imperial Decree banned? Thats pretty awkward, if thats banned, why isn't Royal Decree banned? It has exactly the same effect except it negates Traps (but not itself) and you don't even have to play life points, its the Trap version of Jinzo. Imperial Decree lets you negate all effects of Magic Cards but you have to pay the life points each turn and as every other cost card, it gets destroyed when you can't pay the amount isn't it? I'm sure I have the card somewhere in my drawer.

painful choice = you search your deck for 5 cards, then your opponent chooses 1 the rest gets discarded and the card your opponent chooses goes into your hand
deliquent duo= pay 1000 life your opponent discards a card and you randomly pick one of your opponent's card and discards it

Painful choice: this is to prevent the exodia deck to run amock from the slowin down of the environment. But the main reason why it's banned is because of its incredible synergy with Chaos decks (dump guys in, chaos comes out).

Delinquent Duo: for 1000LP, you are forcing them to discard 2 cards. It's a garanteed 1-card advantage. Also the fact ath you can play it on the first turn makes it even more devestating than needed.

Imperial Order: It's because people are using it as a free jammer. free jammer = bad, according to Konami.

oh! so that means Painful choice is the perfect card for Dark Necrofear or Chaos Emperor dragon, instead of putting then on the field, just use Painful choice.

exactly

for necrofear
you just need to select 4 fiends and the last card whatever you want
and free necrofear
for CED
choose a light and a dark
*cough*d.d warrior lady*cough*

Exactly. Not many ppl see that power, so that's why most don't notice it until it's banned. lol

I think that banning cards is stupid. I mean really it's not like you're cheating by taking control of 1 monster for 1 turn. I use those banned cards all the time. I use my Injection Fairy Lily in alost every deul im in.

Okay. Change of heart itself is monster removal AND sacing fodder. It's like tribute to the doomed plus soul exchange without drawback in 1 single card. If that's not super cheap like raigeki...wait, you haven't played magic through combo winter...

It's okay, you'll learn how powerful those cards really are...or just take Edo's words. lol

Back on topic:

So anyone want to discuss why any of the cards are banned? Ask. :P

Erm, can I ask why Dice Jar isn't banned? Its full of nonsense.

It's because they're going for the super strong stuff and not the super silly stuff.
