I don't know. I actually haven't seem the game itself in action, so I don't know whether it's a fun game or not. The art is very animal crossing-ish (well it's neopets), so I'm sure some ppl would like it.

Blasty....you sure seem pretty opinionated...lol....^_-;;;
indeed my friend
yes indeed
why?
1st of all only kids play neopets(sorry for people that actually do play it) do you see the commercials of the neopets how come they're all kids and not 32 years old fatasses who can't get a job that play it?
2nd of all what's the point in the game? it's so unrealistic, like kenny said it's animal-crossingish
last of all, it's just stupid i mean 1st comes Magic, then comes pokemon, thern comes yugioh and now what neopets

I bought them, but the pokemon TCG is waaaaaayyyyyy better. Only for rare item codes is if you bought them then. I would buy pokemon over neopet cards any day, even if I might like neopets slightly better than pokemon O_o

Yes! Pokemon TCG is MUCH better!
I like the YGO format the best though...along with the creatures!

YGO is good, but I like pokemon better! Maybe its the colors, YGO cards are dull colored, pokemon cards are brightly colored O_o

YGO looks a lot more older too though.....
Pokemon TCG looks kinda young, on some cards.....

Here's my overall thoughts on the TCGs:
Magic > Duel Masters > Pokemon > Marvel VS > .hack > YGO > Neopets > Simpsons > Saint Saiya
Got it? lol

MtG: Professional artists draw the illustrations(assuming, since the island and mountain drawings are so good), good gameplay only if it was a bit better.
DM: ...I don't know how to play but I saw card spoilers on a YGO magazine, great drawings.
YGO: Way better artwork than any other card game except Duel Masters and Magic, even though some of the images are made from programs, its still great.
PKMN: Cool artwork, good gameplay, easy-to-win gaming.
NP: I don't know how to play but the artwork is nothing.
YGO>>MtG(i don't play much, i pretty much forgot how to play)>>PKMN>>Simpsons>>DM(i don't know how to play)

I've never played Magic....@_@
I would say:
Poke>>YGO>>NP

Yes, the major problem with magic is that it's so complex that ppl just turn away from it. YGO on the other hand is much more easy to grasp and master, which is a good thing on its own (I just prefer the complex rulings that give no exceptions rather than YGO's screwed up priority system. lol).
Anyway, I see Neopets aren't really top-of-the-line, but it might be a contender against, let's say pokemon.

Naw. I jsut can't believe you ranked YGO so high tho, that's all. lol
btw, Simpsons TCG is jokes (like it's so bad that it's funny. lol).

Well, some people like YGO. XD Naturally they'd rank it high.
What is Duel Masters, anyway? I've always thought it was a ripoff of YGO because playing both games seems to be called "dueling."

See, that's the common preception of all YGO players. Duel masters is nowhere NEAR YGO to be called a rip-off. Really, the only thing that's similar between them is the name.
Duel Masters itself is basically a cross between pokemon and magic the gathering. Its simple concepts and much weaker mana curve allow for even YGO players to start playing. Currently Duel Masters has nothing at instant speed yet, so we'll have to wait to see whether we'll be seeing stacking until later on (I doubt it).

I never tried duel masters because everyone said they weren't worth it...but they look cool ^_^

FauxCivility
July 5th, 2004, 01:10 PM
Is it?
I don't pay any attention to the vital stats fo YGO...lol....
KLS
July 5th, 2004, 10:42 PM
yeah it's goind way down
why?
1 of 2 reasons
1. it's getting old (it's gonna die out js like pokemon)
2.ever since the arrival of the long awaited duel-masters has appeared it's added 1 more card game to the long Magic-YGO battle
so now it'll be Magic vs YGO vs Duel Masters
1st one to die is gonna be YGO
than Duel Masters
Magic is gonna live the longest i can almost sense it

Magic, the rules are weird, the names are weird, the whole goddamned thing is weird. It is created for teenagers, i might presume, nobody'd play it when their 8, they'll probably go; "Em... ...mmm.... .....what the fudges"
I'd prefer Magic over YGo though, Even though i forgot the rules, i'd still go with it. :cheeky: I haven't played one game of Magic since I was 16.
YGO's got an easy gameplay, heck, just put a monster down in one turn and thats it, your on your way right? Pokemon is quite simple, all you need to know what does "basic" mean then your on track. Simpsons, theres lots of kinds, the normal stupid card game (instead of spades they put a character etc.), the weird joking thing where you get from those yellow packs if I'm not wrong, and the goddamn figures (wait they're not cards..) .....I haven't played Duelmasters yet, but i bought 7 booster packs, I don't know why.

Yu-gi-oh is not even close to dying here. There are tons of people who play it. Pokemon hasn't died either.

I agree, PiroMunkie. And with the movie coming out next month, I'm certain the YGO fanbase will flourish all the more. And MiNuN, YGO really isn't *that* easy to play. There's Magic and Trap cards too. If you think YGO is all about playing monsters, then I don't think you'd get very far in a duel. ^__~

Well in terms of gameplay, YGO has only one way for a person to win (as the decking way is not even supported with any of the sets) is to kill with monsters. Thus the gameplay itself really comes down to monsters and monster removal.
Due to these circumstances, the YGO gaming community seeks for other ways to play the same duels (I'm talking the high-level guys that have 2 copies of every staple), thus they either just leave or just start playing other TCGs along with YGO. The problem here is that as soon as they start playing other TCGs, Upper Deck loses more pack sales. That's the main problem here.
I will not comment on magic (on winning conditions) since it's too much for most to handle. lol
