I cant ever get good IVs on it when its bred!

Actually I put any pokemon in the day care and they breed-_- they were different types too

IVs are usually randomized, dude. Also, it's more than likely that the parents have crap IVs.

That depends on you. Most people like 21+ in most stats but the perfectionists aim for 28+.

Good attack and speed...wait, my mind is failing me, what does riolu evolve into? Just a little stupid today lol...but parents effect IVs quite a lot.

No no no, you're confusing IVs with Stats. They're two completely different things.

Actually, at early levels, there is a very bare bones way to check for Riolu to have good stats or not:

Check HP Stat at the following, if:
12 At Level 1 for 20+
31 At level 10 for 30+

Check Attack Stat at the following, if:
8 At Level 2 for 10+
10 At Level 3 for 27+
22 At Level 10 for 30+

Check Defense Stat at the following, if:
6 At Level 1 for 20+
16 At level 10 for 30+

Check Special Attack Stat at the following, if:
6 At Level 1 for 30+

Check Special Defense Stat at the following, if:
6 At Level 1 for 20+
16 At level 10 for 30+

Check Speed Stat at the following, if:
8 At Level 2 for 30+

The +20,+30, etc. are the IVs that are possible if that stat is as such.
