So me and Chatot were putting our heads together and we started brain storming about a Mr. Mime and Togekiss combo. And yes we are aware of Mr. Mime's horrid HP, we just don't care.
Mr. Mime @Wide Lens
Filter
Calm
192 Spd/188 Sp.Def/128HP
~Substitute
~Calm Mind
~Baton Pass
~Hypnosis/Psychic
Togekiss@Leftovers???
Serene Grace
Modest/Timid/Bold
Whatever the standard Paraflinching set is.
~Aura Sphere
~Thunderwave
~Air Slash
~Roost
or
Togekiss@Leftovers/CS/CSpecs
Serene Grace
Modest/Timid/Bold
Mainly Sp. Atk and Sp. Def with HP
~Aura Sphere
~Air Slash
~Flamethrower
~Shadow Ball
This bottom one's for more of a sp. Sweeping aspect.
We know it's a work in project but we believe it could have a good upside. Just thought we'd post it because we've never seen it around.
Edit: EV Sets would be a HUGE help.

Adding to what Mr.May has said, the way this works is basically Mr.Mime uses Substitute and Calm Mind and BP's the Calm Mind back to Togekiss. The boost Togekiss receives from Calm Mind will make it a total killing machine!

Ya he's a favourite of mine but i was having trouble fitting him in.
It can be both. Be free to add or critize, just don't shoot us down to hard. It's good enough for me but we want to know what everyone else thinks.
sims796
October 8th, 2007, 11:04 PM
I think its both.
Like it or not, no matter how much you ignore it, Mr.Mime has low HP, making weak Subs. That is NOT something you can ignore.
I'm not saying its fail, but its not something to disregard.

October 8th, 2007, 11:05 PM
Ya we know, we wanted to give it more HP but we only have so many EV's. Filter and his Sp. Def just make it worth it though.
Plus, its making the most of a personal favourite and a pokemon with a combined 480 stats. Bot everything can be perfect :(

Well, Samson is here, he can give a better analysis than I can. Mr.Mime is in no way fail, but its HP...

So so so so so so true. however, if you switch Mr Mime in on say, a weezing (assuming you use decen t prediction and survive the hit)...weezing won't stick around to get killed...they'll obviously switch out, which is when you set up a sub and CM up once or twice...pass the sats to Kiss, and wham. I like the idea.

Exactly. But the most you want to go for is 404 HP, to make a 101 Sub. The max HP Mr.Mime can have is.. 284.. Lol.

Yes we've realised that sadly Itachi, that's why we're trying to get away with giving it some speed.
Plus we're not trying to make it a wall, just more of a supporter.
EV sets are our biggest problem. We tried alot of things. woops that's a combined 460 not 480. Why couldn't they have given it 40 more base stats in the HP departement.

I say CM first, Sub later. Problem is, the Sub may break before you can pass it.
Samson
October 8th, 2007, 11:11 PM
if you want mr mime for CM passing, then you're gonna have to give it hypnosis. if you want hypnosis to work, then you'll have to give him wide lens. it's just too weak on the damage-inducing side and not fast enough on the defensive side to NOT use hypnosis.
you should make togekiss bold considering that it will have to make up for mr mimes physical weakness.
oh and EDIT: sub is always first, and then hypnosis, and then a couple CMs and then the pass.

October 8th, 2007, 11:11 PM
Well after a CM Mr.Mime gets a ridiculous boost in Sp. Def that could helo him survive long enough.

That does make more sense sims, thanks. and what if suddenly, a HUGE PHYSICAL BEAST CAME IN! Then we;re screwed, unless we can make it fall asleep.

Ya, we definately had that in mind. So Substitute and Hypnosis or just Hypnosis.
Edit: Saw your edit, feel stupid for asking.
Samson

both. sadly, if something with taunt that is faster gets to you, then he becomes useless not having any attacks, but that's why you make him timid with 252 SPD, and a variation of HP and sp def for the last 256 evs.
good luck ^.^

Hold on. Base 100 SP.ATK is nothing to scoff at. And he has a pretty diverse movepool.
Chatot, sarcasm will get you nowhere :P

Ya I saw the edit, Taunt's the only reason we had Psychic on there (and because it's STABed).
So max out his speed at 306. Sounds good. Thanks for the feedback.
Ooh, i see Sims has been doing research Yay! Ya his Sp. Atk is highly effective which is another reason why we considered Psychic (adnd Thunder bolt and Energy Ball) but it doesn't fit for this peticular usage.
Eos Aduro

That wasnt sarcasm! I was actually thanking you, stupid forums not using tone of voice. And max speed, but I still think we need more HP than SpDef for this to work.

I JUST realized that. You are using him to pass, but he is also an effective attacker & sp.wall-but just a SPECIAL wall. Especially with his host of Barriers. Y'know, Reflect, Light Screen...
EDIT:Whoops, my bad Chatot. I figured you were genuine, which is why I added that friendly little :P

definitely more HP XD

Sleep clause kinda hinders the whole hypnosis startegy...but this could have some potential. Mrs. Mime can be effective as a CM/sub sweeper, like a mini-raikou too, but that doesn't really help Kiss, so forget that.
Eos Aduro
October 8th, 2007, 11:25 PM
Its not exactly a power-house when it has this set, but its still a very good Pokemon. The barriers were a good idea for BPing, but not if the essence for a Togekiss.
Samson
October 8th, 2007, 11:25 PM
well that's the thing. if the person switches out when you put whatever comes into battle to sleep, that gives you at least one CM (and if they bring in something slower than mr mime), 2 CMs. 2 CMs is exactly what you need to make togekiss a major stronghold in taking out most things.
Waffle-San
October 8th, 2007, 11:26 PM
Well as annoying as Togekiss' are to take down this just make's it worse. We don't know if we should run the paraflinching set or if after a CM or two, Togekiss won't need Roost.
TW isn't as needed with Mr. Mine now knowing Hypnosis.
Edit: One CM is enough to scare me..............depending on what team I have............
Eos Aduro
October 8th, 2007, 11:28 PM
Im think just a sweeper works in this sense for Togekiss. Roost and T-Wave are wasted on double CMed power.
Samson
October 8th, 2007, 11:31 PM
i dunno, i'd keep thunderwave on togekiss. you could try Air Slash/Aura Sphere/Flamethrower/Thunderwave. flamethrower is just to hit those bulky steels harder. grass knot is also good rather flamethrower as ground types resist thunderwave.
Waffle-San
October 8th, 2007, 11:32 PM
Well if you get down to low HP and someone switches in for a Blissey you could take advantage of it with Roost.
I'm only suspecting to get one CM off.

He doesn't get STAB on that, but then I thought about the CM part. But rather then passing CM, why don't you use Nasty Plot on Togekiss itself? And he's bulky enough to withstand a few hits without CM.
Eos Aduro
October 8th, 2007, 11:35 PM
Well if we CAN get more, thsan thats amazing. And maybe Air Slash Aura Sphere Flamethrower Grass Knot? Sure Blissey resisits this, but think about it, it isnt sa team of two, you can always have a physical Poke there. And Nasty Plot is an ok way to go, but its a waste of a turn that could be used, and we're fueling its aweosme special defence to make it harder to take down than ever!
Samson
October 8th, 2007, 11:35 PM
well in all reality, one CM is not all that battle-changing. 50% boosts barely change things, especially when there are pokes like blissey who will make an effort to wall it. a 100% boost is worth the trouble, but still isn't that effective in doing a decent sweeping job.
if you really want togekiss to do some sweeping, you don't even need mr mime. after a couple nasty plots, blissey can't handle taking 2 aura spheres.

I thought of the same thing, Samson. We have identical minds, apparently.
Waffle-San
October 8th, 2007, 11:38 PM
The CM's give it Sp.Def as well, so it can take hits too. And I beg to differ. 50% increase may not make a difference on Blissey but other things.................
And this way Togekiss come's in unsctratched.

And it comes in unharmed without CM. You're scoffing at 115 base Sp.def? And it has 120 base attack. Enough to Nasty Plot. And 115 sp.def is enough, it doesn't need a boost.
Waffle-San
October 8th, 2007, 11:52 PM
Yes but then you have to take attacks while Nasty Plotting. Which I know Togekiss can take, but it could hurt later. This way you get an extra move on Togekiss too.
Thanks for everyone's feedback though!! I think we're going to roll with it. Wish I/we could have 5 moves on Mr. Mime though............
Eos Aduro
October 8th, 2007, 11:53 PM
So we dont need to improive the already good? This Togekiss doesnt have Nasty Plot because we want a more diverse movepool. it geta a CM boost with a better set, and makes a larger threat.
Waffle-San

ya but all the feedback's really helped.
Except we still need EV's for Togekiss. I have the general idea but I'm too lazy to get technical.
Samson
October 9th, 2007, 06:21 AM
definitely bold. although, i'm not even sure what you plan on doing w/ togekiss. 252 HP is always vital on kiss, maybe 116 def and the rest sp atk?

Hhm, I'm surprised no mention of Soundproof on Mr Mime rather than Filter. Would mess up Roar and Heal Bell especially. I can see the advantage of Filter, I just think Soundproof needs be considered a bit more before being completely abandoned.
Eos Aduro
October 9th, 2007, 11:02 PM
Filter is used to kepp Mr.Mime alive. A Gengar comes out, and uses Shadow Ball, and otherwise else, we WOULD be dead. But filter prevents that.
