Now i'm pretty sure that this is the correct forum, so i'm sorry if it isn't

What i'm wondering is why is Deoxys(all forms) is classed as an Uber, it's base stats are only 600, same with Darkrai, Manaphy and Lati@s, a Garchomp has the same base stats, better movepool, and it's only an OU.
So if pokemon like Metagross are allowed, then how come the legends with the same total stats, are classed Uber?
And i don't want to hear about any "Movepool" junk, a Garchomp has a better movepool then some of those "Ubers"

Anyway, to answer your question, it doesn't depend just on the stats and movepool; it depends on other factors such as Ability and typing as well. I'll list why the Pokémon you mentioned are Ubers while Garchomp isn't:

Darkrai - 125 base Speed and 135 base Sp.Attack paired with Dark Void, Bad Dreams and good special movepool makes this thing a beast, definitely not something you'd want to battle in OU.

Manaphy - Pair it up with a couple of Rain Dancers (or even better, Kyogre) and give it Rest and you'll practically be immune to all status and can fully heal your HP every turn.

Latios/Latias - Good special movepools and good Speed, Special Attack and Special Defense + Soul Dew. STAB Draco Meteor (from a higher base Sp.Attack than anything in OU, I might add) is also nice to have.

Deoxys - Are you seriously asking this question? Defense form Deoxys is nearly impossible to KO without a critical hit or stat boosts and it lay down Spikes, Toxic you, Knock Off your items and Recover of any damage it takes or stop you from buffing up with Taunt. Attack form Deoxys outspeeds and OHKOs just about everything in OU and Speed form Deoxys outspeeds even most Choice Scarfers and hits back with Choice Specsed strong special moves from a 95 base Special Attacks (which hurts a lot) The normal form is basically just a slightly weaker version of the Attack form, but still more than most OUs can handle.

And most importantly, none of them have any 4x weaknesses that are just too easy to exploit.

Garchomp, however, possesses a good, but not excellent Speed (unlike most Ubers) and dies easily to an Ice Beam. Also, despite your beliefs, Garchomp's movepool is a bit lacking. Its somewhat useful physical moves are limited to Earthquake, Dragon Claw/Outrage, Rock Slide/Stone Edge (which don't cover much) and Crunch (which is only really useful for Dusknoir).

You may not want to hear it, but too bad.

Ubers are ubersc because of their movepool COMBINED with their awesome stats. Have you seen Deoxys's base ATK AND SPD? 150 each. With a movepool to take advantage of it.
Add that with a killer ability, and its too strong.

Plus, many of them doesn't have easily exploitable wewknesses. Garchomp has a VERY common Ice weakness. My Vileplume (Hidden Power ICE) is a threat. Chomp is not uber material.

I belive its also because of there abilities. Even tho his is kinda stupid.


Look on serubi at his diff forms stats.

Attack is maxed 500 special is maxed 500 ev traned ect. No pokemon is like this.

His speed form is 500

Defense is 460 on both defenses.

There are pokemon with stats as high as this but they only 1 this high not 2. His speed form is the fasest outa any pokemon.

Garchomps max stat is his attack at 394.. do the math. His move pool isnt that bad either

Darkrai - Its Special Attack and Speed stat is extremely high. It outruns and takes care most of the Pokemon while still maintaining an average defense stat. Dark Void is a major boost to make Darkrai uber. It puts two pokemon asleep while it also gains the Bad Dreams ability.

Manaphy - Rest / Hydration is the main reason why its uber. Especially on a pokemon with such high stats - it makes it near invulnerable. Also, Tail Glow is another reason why its uber. A decent Speed stat and a Doubled Special Attack stat gives it the uber title. One more reason is that Manaphy has a lack of weaknesses - only Electric and Grass.

Deoxys Attack - Its Attack stat and Speed stats are ridiculously high. You would be lucky to even get 1 hit unless you have a VERY good walling pokemon.

Deoxys Defense - Its nearly invulnerable to most pokemon while still possessing a very nice movepool(as Smarties-chan stated).

Deoxys Speed - Choice ... Scarf ...

Deoxys - It still is a weaker Attack form but still able to put a huge dent in most pokemon.

Sorry to poke holes here, but OU Manaphy has no Kyogre. Still Uber though.
