Rapidash
Jolly Nature Timid lowers attack, and seeing how you're going with Flare Blitz, Bounce, ect. you'll want all the attack you can get.
Flash Fire
Item Slot: Undecided
EVS: (When I get around to doing it...252 Speed, 252 Attack.)
Flare Blitz
Hypnosis
Horn Drill 1HKO moves are really frowned upon, so you want to find something to change for here... though, Mega Horn, Poison Jab and a few other attacks such as Fire Blast may be worth considering (fire blast so it's not walled by a Defensive Pokemon... that's the only way I see it...)
Bounce Might want to consider getting rid of this attack, seeing how all they'd have to do is switch something that resists the attack... Flying moves don't get a lot of coverage either, especially not to anything that's a threat to Rapidash unless I'm mistaking...
Bounce has to be there for the flying requirement, and it took alot of effort to get Hypnosis and Horn Drill on one...>.<
Scizor
Adamant/Jolly Nature Scizor needs all the speed he can get, lowering it isn't the best idea to go with, seeing how you're not ever going to use any special attack... those would be a great choice.
Technician
Item Slot: Life Orb
EVS: 252 Attack, 252 Defence
X-Scissor
Night Slash
Air Slash
Swords Dance
(This guys purely for psychic/ghost killing. Or meant to be.)
Gyarados
Adamant Nature
Intimidate
Item Slot: King's Rock
EVS: 252 Attack, 252 HP Speed
Giga Impact
Flamethrower
Aqua Tail (Accuracy down in trade for the added attack boost.)
Earthquake
Use Ice Fang, Stone Edge, or some other attacks that Gyarados would better benefit from with physical from his attack stat, seeing how his special attack is super low... you wont do much a dint with Flamethrower... Giga Impact is just a death wish waiting to happen. If you must have a Fire attack, go with Fire Blast. Waterfall is a good STAB alternative to Aqua Tail for accuracy, but if you want to use Aqua Tail, that's fine too.
Blaziken
Jolly/Adamant/Naughty Nature (Naughty would work better if you were using a mixed sweeping set.)
Blaze
Item Slot: Razor Claw
EVS: 252 Attack, 252 Speed
Brave Bird
Flare Blitz
Night Slash
Swagger No, not on Blaziken... just no... Fighting type move please, Sky Uppercut will do well.
Charizard
Modest Nature
Blaze
Item Slot: If you're going to use Sunny Day, then Heat Rock, but I'm sure there are better items that would work.
EVS: 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed
Blast Burn Flame Thrower... please... if you really want more power, go with Fire Blast, but Flame Thrower since it gets STAB and it's over all better than an elemental hyper beam...
Fly If you're going to use Flame Thrower, go with Air Slash...
Sunny Day I'm not so sure you want to have this on Charizard, I mean yeah it helps Solar Beam and his fire type moves, but it also wastes a turn that Charizard could be easily taken down...
Solarbeam
(Surprise against water/ground and so on -)
Staraptor
Adamant Nature
Intimidate
Item Slot:
EVS: 252 Attack, 252 Speed
Close Combat
Aerial Ace/Brave Bird
Foresight I can understand Identifying Ghosts, I don't see any Rapid Spinners on your team to benefit that... but Staraptor would easily die before it could even use the attack, so I'd definetly trade it for something like U-turn
Astonish You're joking right? This move would be an absolute failure for the simple fact that, it doesn't do a whole lot, sure it's Physical, but few Pokemon cower in fear at the base 30 attack power... if you really want ghost coverage, you can at LEAST try Pursuit.
I've got a Xatu on the go - and i've got a few evs to train yet, but this is what i'm aiming for, any suggestions?
The only other thing I would suggest is replacing some Pokemon, seeing how you already have 3 fire types, I'd get rid of Rapidash and Charizard/Blaziken because you don't need that many of one type on a team... Staraptor might be good for a few hit and runs, Take a closer look at some of your Pokemon's moves they can learn. Keep in mind you only usually need 1 type, unless it's a dual type, but that's different.
I'd suggest a Rapid Spinner, since Poison/Spikes/Stealth rock are ever common... You should get a Tank of some sort as well, I'm not really sure what to suggest because I'm still coming up with a team of my own, but those are just a few suggestions that would be dire to your team.
As for Items, go for a Choice Item on one of your Pokemon or so... it would benefit your team a bit to use items that don't just get the occasional flinch.
Oh... I didn't realize it was for a Fire/Flying gym team... but yeah just take a look at my suggestions if anything.

Both of you messed up Scizor. Unless you're using it as a sweeper with agility, Scizor shouldn't be given speed, it's simply too slow.
Scizor @ Leftovers
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Atk / 128 Def
Adamant / Impish Nature
- Agility
- Baton Pass
- Swords Dance
- X-Scizzor
BPer.
Scizor @ Leftovers
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Agility
- Aerial Ace / Iron Head
- Night Slash
- X-Scizzor
This is the sweeping set for Scizor. Why would you give it a special attack in air slash? :/ Still, Scyther runs this better with SD and focus sash :/
For charizard, if you're worried about it dying, give it focus sash :/ But then you'll need a spinner. torkoal works.

Definately going to swap Flare Blitz for Fire Blast on Rapidiash, gotta keep Horn Drill, the look on people's faces, although I won't use it in battle where it's out of course.
I don't see the point in speed on Scizor, the defence/slight power boost is worth it at the moment Staraptor and Rapidash tend to go first out of my team. I might get around to re-training one pure speed if I get the chance, definately keeping it in mind.
Flamethrower switched for Fire Blast, and Stone Edge for Giga Impact on Gyarados. Cheers.
I DID have Sky Uppercut on Blaziken, but for some reason it was missing 1 in 3 times, which is NOT what i want to happen all the time, even on WiFi, it got pathetic. I like swagger, as a last ditch effort if I get type killed, but then I suppose damage is better than nothing, but swagger might save me more than hp loss...dunno.
Flamethrower reverted on Charizard, and Fly switched for Air Slash, I like having one or two surprise on pokemon that people won't expect (, if they work lol) so I'll keep sunny day, might give Rapidash Solar Beam as well to make it worthwhile.
Staraptor - Astonish, caus' it well, astonishes lol - couldn't think of anything else because Aerial Ace and Close COmbat are all I really use - I had Foresight on to make Close Combat hit, since that's my main attack on him - will switch it for something when I can think of it.
Cheers mind, definately alot to consider (and more BP to save...)

I overlooked that he had Air Slash on his Scizor. I wasn't really paying attention because in my mind it said Aerial Ace... I have the tendency to correct errors when I'm not even trying to.

Trust me, Foresight isn't going to help you a whole lot unless they have Spiritomb or Sableye, Gengar is part Poison so it'd resist Close Combat with Foresight activated...

Flamethrower switched for Fire Blast, and Stone Edge for Giga Impact on Gyarados. Cheers.
No. Just no. Didn't he tell you no special attacks on gyarados? Standard:
Gyara @ Lefties
intimidate
EVs: 214 HP / 16 Atk / 180 Def / 100 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Earthquake
- Waterfall / Stone Edge / Ice Fang
By far the best gyarados set out there.
Staraptor - Astonish, caus' it well, astonishes lol - couldn't think of anything else because Aerial Ace and Close COmbat are all I really use - I had Foresight on to make Close Combat hit, since that's my main attack on him - will switch it for something when I can think of it.
You see, starpator can make use of plenty of physical moves better than astonish :/ Brve Bird, Close Combat, U-turn, Double-Edge or return, and a few more. It's run best with choice band or scarf, or life orb.
Definately going to swap Flare Blitz for Fire Blast on Rapidiash, gotta keep Horn Drill, the look on people's faces, although I won't use it in battle where it's out of course.

Garchomp snapped out of confusion! Garchomp used earthquake! Blaziken fainted! Long story short...swagger isn't a very good move :/ Blaziken can just use brick break if accuracy is a problem.
I REALLY don't recommend sunnybeaming unless it's with eggy really...few pokemon really pull it off well enough to make it worthwhile. I'd just use charizard with dragon pulse and HP grass over sunny day and solarbeam. Speaking of which, if you're gonna use rapidash, give it physical moves...PLEASE. Horn drill is a terrible move...just something that relies on luck and is a waste of a moveslot.

Scizor SHOULDN'T have speed, since scyther pulls off the sweeper sets far better. Scizor is a BPer and/or tank :/

See the Elite Four for unbalanced =P I about died laughing when the fire guy only had 2 true fire types... All of them had "a fire move" That's usually how a Gym would work, a Pokemon has a _____ Move depending on what their "specialty" is.
Also, I suggest a HP Electric/Grass somewhere on your team, because if you're running a Fire/Flying based gym, all they have to do is bring a Water Type (like Swampert) in to ruin your fun, Swampert going with a Physical Waterfall and Ice Punch would rape your team pretty well without a grass attack of some sort.

Quite true...
If you want to make your team more balanced, I'd get rid of rapidash and add something like salamence that can cover more types. But wait...where are the walls?

Get rid of the Drill and Hypnosis.... Those moves aren't in your nature for this Rapidash and wasting turns by PUTTING THEM TO SLEEP isn't going to compensate for the poor choice in Horn Drill...

Ok Tank for Psy and Ghost, but if a Fire type happens to show up (Hm.. Infernape or Blaziken), then you have entered into screwville, population, YOU...

EVS: 252 Attack, 252 HP Speed
Giga Impact
Flamethrower
Aqua Tail (Accuracy down in trade for the added attack boost.)
Earthquake
Giga Impact and Flamethrower GONE, NOW.... try keeping it to Physical since you have a Physical Gyarados... Giga Impact hurts because if you hit and can't KO them, FREE HITS, FREE HITS!!!!
Blaziken

Blast Burn and Fly, Begone.... Though I see the sunny day, you better get it flared off before you get KO'ed... If not, One wasted Charizard there. Also, Use Fire Blast or Overheat (Only if you can Ko the pokemon in one attack). Get an attack that will also cause burns.....
Staraptor
Adamant Nature
Intimidate
Item Slot:
EVS: 252 Attack, 252 Speed
Close Combat
Aerial Ace
Foresight
Astonish
Foresight shouldn't be there. You have better moves out there for those ghosts. Astonish can also make a quick exit.... I'm going to let you figure out what moves belong with this Staraptor....
I've got a Xatu on the go - and i've got a few evs to train yet, but this is what i'm aiming for, any suggestions?

My gym choice persay is Flying, but I added the sub fire because I LOVE FIRE lol.
Where possible 've got fire on flying types, and flying on fire types.
Salamence is neither Flying nor Fire, so it can't go in the team - i'm sticking to the guns, but thenm, there arn't any decent flying birds except Skarmory, but i've got the Steel type here on Scizor, I suppose I could switch.
I'll have to retrain the rapidash for attack to switch to physical - as for Horn Drill, It's only there because it's a breeding move, which took alot of bloody effort - for show I suppose.
Wall? is that HP or defence these days? I've only just branched out into competitive pokemon i.e - the game, and Wall in the TCG can be a pacharisu played right lol.
Advice on the latter?
I meant switch GI for Stone Edge, not visa versa, that was a typo.

Stone edge doesn't get you recoil damage :/
Mence IS flying type...and kingdra isn't 4x weak to ice for the record.
You're gonna need walls to survive. Really though, rapidash needs to be replaced. If you refuse, fine, but at least get rid of horn drill...

Augh I forgot about Kingdra... but well the majority of Dragon types are 4x Weak to Ice
Well then again since 4th gen started now most Dragons are Dual Type to not have the Super Ice Weakness... Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, ect.

Recoil Time... Not Damage. The priority time that a move has... I know Stone Edge doesn't have Recoil Damage. I just got caught out there last night trying to win with my first Speed Wall with Stone edge, I wasn't fast enough and the timing was off after the first stone edge....
The thing I do to revolutionize the battle and the challenges... I love it.

Very well, CBsalamence it is then; I'll go dig for another heart scale to give Staraptor Double Edge, and you'll have to forgive me - I thought Hax meant hacked - traded from another game/multiple? How can King's Rock etc be hax? *Stomps off to find a Bagon.*
Do you even know what hax is? King's rock just uses luck...no skill. It's a n00b item...NEVER USE.
Why didn't you even bother to read what I said?
EDIT: Itachi, how is a STABed, life orb/CB powered, 120 base power move useless on staraptor?

Doesn't Staraptor already have a STABed, life orb/CB powered 120 base power move in the form of Brave Bird? I don't think Staraptor really needs two of the same thing.

Not to mention it is less useful typewise, okay, Double-Edge goes - i'll use the heartscale on Blaziken then - as for 'hax' items?
Poor excuse for people who can't deal with the items given for use in the game.

Maybe so, but it is a strong STABed attack. Return can always be used if you dislike recoil. Meh, what do I know...

Actually, it's because they're unreliable, and therefore a waste of space. Trust me, that's how every newbie reacts when they find out about hax items. Hell, I said the exact same thing when I first heard about this.

IT's because they rely on luck and only n00bs use them. You win with skill, not luck...good players do anyways :/

Rapidash
Timid Nature
Flash Fire
Item Slot: Undecided
EVS: (When I get around to doing it...252 Speed, 252 Attack.)
Flare Blitz
Hypnosis
Horn Drill
Bounce
Bounce has to be there for the flying requirement, and it took alot of effort to get Hypnosis and Horn Drill on one...>.<
1) OHKO moves fail
2) Hp [flying]>bounce
2 turn moves fail also

Rapidash
Timid Nature Go for JOLLY NATURE.You defenitely don't want to decrease its attack knowing that you have physical moves.Go for JOLLY.
Flash Fire
Item Slot: Undecided
EVS: (When I get around to doing it...252 Speed, 252 Attack.)
Flare Blitz
Hypnosis
Horn Drill OHKO moves aren't really liked by people here and wouldn't let you use them about 99.999999% percent of the time.Go for something like Megahorn.
Bounce Its a 2 turn attack so somebody can easily switch out to counter that move.I suggest something like Poison Jab.Or Will-o-Wisp.
Bounce has to be there for the flying requirement, and it took alot of effort to get Hypnosis and Horn Drill on one...>.<
Scizor
Brave Nature. Go for adamant because brave nature lowers his speed and you don't want that.Adamant lowers sp.attack and he has no use for sp.attack.
Technician
Item Slot: Life Orb
EVS: 252 Attack, 252 Defence
X-Scissor
Night Slash
Air Slash I would suggest Aerial ace due to the fact that Air slash is a sp.attack and Scizor is good w/physical moves and poor in special moves. And you evd traind it in Attack. And aeiral ace never misses.Swords Dance
(This guys purely for psychic/ghost killing. Or meant to be.)
Gyarados
Adamant Nature
Intimidate
Item Slot: King's Rock
EVS: 252 Attack, 252 HP Speed
Giga Impact. Get Dragon dance. It will give it an attack and speed boost.
Flamethrower ???Get Fire fang since flamethower because it is not good w/special attacks.
Aqua Tail (Accuracy down in trade for the added attack boost.). I would prefer waterfall becuase of its accuracy.
Earthquake
Blaziken
Naughty Nature
Blaze
Item Slot: Razor Claw
EVS: 252 Attack, 252 Speed
Brave Bird
Flare Blitz
Night Slash
Swagger Sky uppercut dude.
Charizard And here is my favourite poke chairzard.
Quiet Nature. Go for MODEST or TIMID.
Blaze
Item Slot: Undecided.Charocoal
EVS: 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed
Blast Burn Flamethrower!!!Why would you want Blast burn since you have to recharg and that is enough time to k.o. it easily.
Fly NO NO NO NO NO!!!!Who puts Fly on charizard.Dragon pulse!!!You need to counter those mean ol dragons!!
Sunny Day[B]Air Slash becuase of those pesky fighting types. And its a stab.
SolarbeamI would prefer Heat wave for double battles.
(Surprise against water/ground and so on -)
Staraptor
Adamant Nature
Intimidate
Item Slot:
EVS: 252 Attack, 252 Speed
Close Combat
Aerial Ace Brave Bird.Thats all i have to say.
Foresight Id say pursuit over astonish and foresight.
Astonish U-turn.Its just better than astonish.
I've got a Xatu on the go - and i've got a few evs to train yet, but this is what i'm aiming for, any suggestions?
Well this is what i think you should do.Hope i helped.;)

I like the idea of Mence, but you really need a special wall. My Starmie rapes this team.
Scizor - Tbolt
Gyarados - Tbolt
Blaziken - Surf
Charizard - Surf
Staraptor - Tbolt
Mence - Ice beam

This is true, and bolt-beaming isn't exactly a good weakness. Especially Starmie.. Claydol is your friend...
Claydol @ Leftovers/Macho Brace
Trait: Levitate
Relaxed Nature
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball/Rest..
