A "friend" of mine stole my Classic Gameboy (you know, the big fat white one) with my Pokémon Red in it. (Edit: I should add that he denied it, and never gave it back to me.) Because of that, I didn't bother to play Pokémon during the 2nd and 3rd Gen. until I happened to get a DS and bought LeafGreen. =/

I once had a LeafGreen game, which I used as an Earthquake Maker. In this particular file I had two Entei, and a Modest Mewtwo(I was also using it for finding good Nature'd Legends). Anyways, I had it in a plastic bag with a few items, and I later realized that there was a hole in the bag. So I lost the game. >_>
If anyone ever came across it, they'd either have no idea what they had, or they'd be glad to see Mewtwo and those two Entei. XD

I lost my pokemon mystery dungeon. My friend borowed it and said he can't find it. so i went to his house and found it! he gave the card back then i put it in my bag. The next day the card just vanished.
I think he took my card again when i put it in my bag. the next time I visit him there was no sign of the card anywhere in the house. then i realised the crack sound when i went in his house. i droped it! we searched everywhere in the garden but we just can't find it.
And i never seen it again!

I had my Yellow version in my wallet that got stolen. When I found my wallet the game was gone. Later, I was at a friend's house and found my game and remembered that I had left it there. So I nearly lost my Yellow version.
I lost a lot of games to my N64 instead. I don't know if they're stolen or something, but one was my fav and the other was almost new and the third I don't care so much about as the other two.

Its pretty easy to lose your game, mostly because they're all really small. I've lost my game for several months until I found it (due to my three year old brother)
Pretty soon the games are just going to be tiny 1 cm chips or something. O_o

Yeah, you can take extra procautions to make sure you don't lose your tiny games. But accidents do happen sometimes.

I'm shocked how many people tell me that friends steal their games/consoles!
I've lost my gameboy - with a Pokemon game inside around the house but never a Pokemon game by itself.

Hmmm, once i had a Gameboy color with Pokemon Silver/Gold Crystal i forgot which one it was and i brought it to school and when i was going on theb us to go home i looked in my backpack and it was open and my gameboy was gone.
Never put your backpack on your back when in school people always open them and take your stuff, trust me. This was like 8 years ago i think
Now i watch my stuff my like a hawk and when people steal from me and icatch them they have to deal with a 6 foot 280 pound pissed of guy

Oh dear ... yes.
I have lost everyone Game Boy-compatible Pokémon game I have ever owned. My color series were stolen as well as my Gold version, then when it comes to the GB Advanced, they all vanished. I still have Diamond/Pearl games, which I preciously keep a hold of.

I bought Red around the time it first came out in the US. I had the old brick-style game boy that my brother bought way back in 1990. I took the gameboy and Red version with me on a trip to Arizona and we stopped in Raton New Mexico to stay. Our car was broken into during the night and my gameboy, along with several other things were stolen. Not a good trip overall, later on in Santa Fe our car broke down and we were stuck there for 4 days while the car got fixed. I did end up buying a fancy new Gameboy Color and new copy of Red while we were there though, that was cool.

The sentimental value of my Pokemon games are the most i have for anything, bar family and friends of course. I would never think of starting a game again and i wander why some people do it!
I physicaly lost my Ruby once. It was not even completed properly and a few months before DP came out. Stupid thing was i think i was hiding the cartridge lol, little too well. Found it in the end though :). Lie. Mother found it cleaning the room.
I've technicaly lost my Gold, Gameshark has wiped the whole overworld bar the top of a pokecentre, lucky because i can still trade. Even though i will never play gold till i get a flash cart reader thing for the PC and can back up my save because the in-game clock is goners or going fast.

OH NOO, bad memories... I brought my gameboy to school and let my fellow pokenerd play and he got the bright idea to press all the buttons at once or something random and POOF...no more saved file... there went my precious level 60's and my 100 charizard and 81 raichu.... these days, I realize they weren't so great :D

I've lost: Yellow, Blue, Red, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire (x2, my Sapphire and my friend's), Emerald, Colosseum (still lost), and XD (still lost). From "Yellow" --> "Crystal" and my friend's "Sapphire": I put them in a case and lost the case. My "Sapphire", "Emerald": I lost 'em for a few days a while back, but it didn't take long to find them. "Ruby": This is the worst. I lost the game for like... two years. I must've put it somewhere and forgotten about it, that was a MAJOR pain. "Colosseum" and "XD": I lost them when I moved last November, they're still missing. I've looked in the storage building, all of the boxes in my house, everywhere, but no sign of the games. -_-

Nothing like this has ever happened to me but for some reason I'd really like to get a backup device for my pearl...I just have such a big collection of good IV'ed pokémon on there,I would be back to zero if I would lose it.If I have the save backed up I can just dump it to a new pearl card.

I have a Video Game Club at my high school and I brought my SP one day with my Emerald in it. I had some good Pokemon and was almost completing the Hoeen Pokedex. But then, I couldn't find it. I thought it was stolen, and I almost filed a lost item paper. Only to find it, stuck underneath the back pocket of my bookbag -_-

Physically, I lost my Emerald for about a month before Christmas last year.
At the time I didn't really care because my save file had just been erased. That was painful because I had the legit event Mew. (The MYSTRY one!) I also had lost my Sapphire for two years. My mom found it after cleaning my room this past Summer. All the times my room was cleaned before. Besides Pokemon games, I've lost Final Fantasy I&II: Dawn of Souls for the GBA. Hope I find that one soon....

Back in the day me and my bros had Blue and Red, we left like Blue where we went on holiday or something stupidly, then about a year later we lost Red...
And more recently my little sister lost both my Fire Red and Ruby, for Ruby the internal battery had died, but I used it to trade into Fire Red. I hate my little sister so much for losing them... I've looked for them in between her toys for ages and found nothing. :(

I keep all my games in the same place every time. I put my games away in the same fashion. Its a trick I learned a while back that if you put everything back in a specific way you wont lose things as often. I am so glad I got a game box to do that in

Yes, unfortunately. My Sapphire mysteriously dissapeared a few months ago.
Which is strange for me, because I always keep all of my games in one particular place so that won't happen.
And what honks me off the most is I had a bunch of good Pokemon on it that I wanted to migrate to my Pearl...

When I was in 6th grade, I took my gameboy pocket (the cool clear kind!) with my blue game. I had 147 pokemon, 3 away from completing the pokedex. The closest I've ever gotten to completing the pokedex. Then - Someone stole it. /_\
I still lament the "loss" of that game.

No, I'd never lose a game.
I always take a lot of care of all my stuff, because I wouldn't buy the same thing again if I lost it.

Well, when I was a little youger than now, I was over at my friends house, and we went somewhere and I brought both of my games with me: Sapphire, and Ruby. I was playing Sapphire so I took it in with me, and left Ruby in their car. When we came back it wasn't there.. :(
That game had my FIRST Crobat.. And I have no idea what other good Pokemon I had on there, for all I know there was a Shiny on there {it was before I knew what a Shiny was}.
For all I know it is in between seats in their car, or someone stole it, or I took it in and didn't know it, and left it in the store.

It's kind of sad how many copies of Pokemon Red I've gone through. My first one mysteriously went missing years ago, during my Grade 7 year, and I have a feeling someone at my school had taken it. I kind of lent my second copy to one of my friends, but I ended up moving to a different town before getting the game back. My third copy of Red was in the transfer pack when my Pokemon Stadium game decided to crash on me - ultimately ruining both itself and the copy of Red. My fourth, and current, copy of Red still works. I have never, nor am I ever going to, let it near a transfer pack or lend it away to someone else.
But, ever since I got the Fire Red version, I haven't been playing Red that much anymore.
