These November episodes really deserve their own thread. Seriously.

Oh right, the episode. I have no idea why Gary would be in this episode since he hasn't shown up since Gligar's evolution or something. Then again, why should I care? He's Gary and he can do whatever the hell he wants. As long as Barry isn't included too since he's pretty damn annoying.

Saturn and Mars look stupid in the preview. Well, their faces do anyway. It's too bad that Jupiter never recieved her solo mission but whatever.

Hopefully, this arc will be around 3 - 5 episodes and not 2 episodes like last generation's conclusion.

Anyway, this shows me why Diamond and Pearl is better than Advanced Generation and the original series.

And there is the trailer here (http://www.filb.de/1165). Epic if you talk about it.

HOLY RAAAAA!
I see Akagi's "Red Glove"! XD I see Saturn, Mars and Jupiter, I see Shirona-san, I SEE J, I SEEEEEE GARY, AND THE LAKE TRIO!
...Well, it's okay if they don't include Giratina, but I really want that... D:

On another note, Lake Valor got bombed and exploded! :D This is an epic turn of events~!

James catches a Spinarak? I dunno. :S

From Bulbapedia (http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/TV_Tokyo_reveals_first_episode_for_December_2009):
TV Tokyo (http://www.pokecommunity.com/#) has recently updated, revealing the 154th episode (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/DP154) of Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Diamond_%26_Pearl_series).
This episode will feature Satoshi's (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ash_Ketchum) most recently obtained Pokémon (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon), Glion (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Gliscor_(Pok%C3%A9mon)), as well as Strike's (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Scyther_(Pok%C3%A9mon)) evolution, Hassam (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Scizor_(Pok%C3%A9mon)). The episode entitled 「エアバトルマスター登場!グライオンVSハッサム!!」The Air Battle Master Enters! Glion vs. Hassam!! is set to air on TV Tokyo on Dec. 3.
Satoshi's Glion (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ash%27s_Gliscor) was first caught in the 64th episode (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/DP064) of the series. Even before it was caught, it already showed some affection (http://www.pokecommunity.com/#) for Satoshi by crash landing on him several times. It was not used a lot in battle until its evolution in the 85th (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/DP085) episode of the series, wherein Satoshi was able to obtain a Sharp Fang (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Evolution-inducing_held_item#Razor_Fang) from Shigeru (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Gary_Oak). Satoshi used it against his two most recent Gym (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Gym) battles (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_battle), where it was able to defeat Tougan's Trideps (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Byron%27s_Bastiodon). However, it lost to Suzuna's (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Candice) Yukikaburi (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Snover_(Pok%C3%A9mon)).

An episode focusing on Glion? I might just die of anticipation!~<3

A preview clip following the one-hour special Ginga-dan episodes that recently aired revealed several events from future episodes including change in the main characters' roster and new moves learned by Satoshi's Pokémon.

Satoshi capturing a Fukamaru.
Jun reappears and battles Satoshi's newly captured Fukamaru with his Emperte.
Nozomi is revealed to have a Kirlia & Leafia.
Satoshi's Bouysel learning Freezing Punch while fighting against a Pokémon Trainer's Barrierd.
Satoshi's Glion learning Giga Impact. (DP154)
Hikari's Manmoo and Hinoarashi training the "Flame Ice" combo in their next Pokémon Contest. (DP155)

Mind the quality

Apparently, the end of the one-hour DP151-52 special had a preview video for coming episodes.

In the next coming episodes, it's revealed that:

-Ash catches a Gible (...really, writers? Now you're just gonna attract a bunch of n00bs who scream "OAK GLISCOR" even though it's done more than 90% of his team lately)

-Barry comes back, battling Ash's Gible with his Empoleon

-Zoey has Kirlia and Leafeon (...REALLY, WRITERS?! I mean what the hell?! I mean, I know how she's a bit of hated character, but seriously, putting two overrated-as-all-hell Pokemon on her team is just going to breed more fan dumb...)

-Ash's Buizel learns Ice Punch from battling some guy's Mr. Mime. Finally, it can become somewhat useful again. But if Ash pulls a "omg-my-pogeymanz-is-somewhat-useful-again-must-make-it-fight-important-stuff" like he tends to do and forces it to fight in Sunyshore, I'll be pissed. :V

-Ash's Gliscor learns Giga Impact in DP155 (Air Battle Master Appears! Gliscor vs. Scizor!); some people are predicting he leaves Gliscor here...and by some people, I mean some absolute n00bs

-Dawn practices with Cyndaquil and Mamoswine to perfect a fire and ice combo for the next Pokemon Contest. It's obvious Cyndaquil will debut; let's hope Mamoswine has learned its lesson.

Discuss here.

Ash gets a gible? Don't see why he should get one so late in his journey unless ash is going to use it in the next season or possible the Pokemon league. The writers better not oak gliscor I see big potential in it for the Pokemon league and especially against Paul. Thank God that buizel learnt a new move I always saw it as a weak link in ash's team. Don't care at all for zoey possible the most boring character ever.

Finally, we see another Eevolutions! Nice. Zoey's team combination would be interesting. But I would prefer Zoey owns a Gallade rather than Gardevoir. That would be sorta interesting. X3

Ash got a Gible? Hmm, I don't think I like this idea though. I just can't see he has one. Maybe it's Kazunari's, but idk. I don't think Kazunari will appear until they return to Johto again

And...
How about Volkner? He's the only leader left that has yet to appear. D:

The question becomes what, which will likely be the talk of the fandom for the coming weeks, until the episode airs.

Many believe it's Gliscor. I want to reach through my computer screen and punch them in the face; how can you put the newest member of the team on a bus just like that? :|

I personally say it'll either be Monferno, Staraptor or Grotle. Monferno has done nothing (aside from that ONE battle it won; hoo wee. :|) since evolving. Staraptor...well, it's the most unlikely of the three, but still. Grotle has had too much screen time lately. Before it becomes a total camera hog, it should GTFO.

The 156th episode of the Pocket Mosters: Diamond & Pearl series is titled Fukamaru and Dragon Meteor Shower! 「フカマルとりゅうせいぐん!」 and will air Dec. 17 on TV Tokyo, according to a Japanese magazine scan posted on Serebii.Net Forums today.

As revealed earlier, Satoshi will be using a Fukamaru to battle Jun's Emperte. This Fukamaru is a wild Pokémon who wishes to learn the move Dragon Meteor Shower from Grandma Tatsu, a move tutor who lives in Route 210 but previously lived from a famous city of Dragon Tamers. Satoshi then decides to do some special training with the wild Fukamaru to help it learn the move.

Ban news for all you people that dont want him to catch gible but:
Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Diamond_%26_Pearl_series)'s 157th is titled 「フカマル!ゲットだぜ!!」 Fukamaru! Get It!! and will air Dec. 24 on Tv Tokyo, as revealed by a Japanese magazine scan posted on Bulbagarden (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Bulbagarden) Forums.

As reported earlier (http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/156th_Diamond_%26_Pearl_episode_title_revealed), the previous episode (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/DP156) features Satoshi's (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ash_Ketchum) special training with a wild (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Wild_Pok%C3%A9mon) Fukamaru (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Gible_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29) to help it learn the move Dragon Meteor Shower (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Draco_Meteor_%28move%29) from Grandma Tatsu (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Wilma). In this episode, Satoshi will attempt to capture the wild Fukamaru, similar to a another episode (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/DP145).

So that means we could still safely assume that she still has 7 Pokemons?

Ash could happily send one Pokemon on hand to Prof. Oak for Gible (just like May), but I seriously do not want it to be Gliscor, even just for one episode. *shrug*

Grrr why do I have such a big Gliscor affection.

Anyway we might not know most of the status of Ash's Sinnoh Pokemons 'cause he might not send out all Pokemons in the episode.

Or maybe Brock will be the one who catches the Gible? (another slim possibility) But the title spells "GETTO da ze!" so most likely it'll still be Ash (just like what happened to Turtwig)...

Oh I know, I'm stop thinking and just wait.

I love how the title of this episode is "Gible...Get!"; it's mirroring the "Gible...Got It!" episode, which, by the way, was Buizel's last appearance.

I don't know...Maybe he'll Oak it and save it for his journey to other places (such as his Johto revisit or the 5th generation area). Who knows?

It just better not be Gliscor. Everyone who's seen me post in Anime Discussion knows I like Gliscor more than anything in the anime, and if it goes, all hell will break loose.

First of all, EDIT THE TITLE. This is Japanese only, spoilers abound in this video.

Second of all, it's very likely Flint's, not Ash's. Ash didn't need to make it go past the Chimchar stage, even; but whatever, it's a Monferno, I have to deal with the fanboy-centric move the writers pulled out of their asses.

See the empty arena in the video? That's likely the Sunyshore Gym; Ash or perhaps Volkner will battle Flint in order to try and help Volkner regain his passion for battling, as per the natural order of the games.

Ash's Monferno better will not be evolving. It shouldn't. It doesn't need to. It won't.

http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Goukazaru_to_make_debut_Feb._11

According to this article, DP163 will be the debut of everyone's favorite flaming monkey, Infernape. The episode, entitled "Blast Evolution! Infernape!", will air Feburary 11th, but I've decided to make this thread to allow PC members to discuss an unnecessary evolution that will do nothing but please fanboys this MONUMENTAL OCCURENCE :D :D :D

I'm frankly not happy with it; could you tell?

It didn't need to happen. It didn't even need to go past the Chimchar stage; it would've been a bigger kick in Paul's nuts if he got beat by a scrawny, albeit well-trained Chimchar, rather than a giant flaming monkey Infernape. The evolution was only to obtain ratings and make fanboys around the world wet themselves, IMO. Totally unnecessary.

Paul will also make an appearance in this episode, for extremely obvious reasons. I mean, it definitely made a difference the first time; so let's do it again!

Discuss.

2) Monferno is ugly Chimchar evolving into Infernape and kicking Paul's butt would be perfectly in-keeping with his story arc and would make more than a few people I know of extremely happy.
3) Ratings are kind-of important to a show :p

Personally, I'm looking forward to it. But I hope it's not another "Ash is a complete ass and gets everything in the battle wrong because apparently he sustained brain damage since season one" episode. -.-;

Charizard will always be my beast of a fire type on steroids, no fire monkey will change that. >.>
But it is nice to see Ash evolving his pokemon, looks so much better than entering the league with a Bulbasaur and Squirtle (Even if i do love them too much to see them evolve now).

Oh, no, I'm not happy with it either.

Methinks that Paul's starting to become a plot point for almost all Ash's Pokemon evolutions. I mean look there. First we have Grotle, then Staraptor, now Monferno, AND FINALLY INFERNAPE HERE when we know that Paul is going to appear again. And what we've seen, 2/3 of the Pokemon evolutions all relate to him.

I don't know if this is a good thing or not.

No **** Sherlock. Hasn't that become glaringly obvious ever since, well, ever? Really now, the whole rivalry business going on between the Pokémon gave that away a while ago. The latest this should've been determined was Turtwig's evolution or the Poké Ringer though I'm leaning in favor the former.

Okay... Monferno evolving, that's nice, yeah... Wait. Wait just a moment. Paul? Again? Why does he have to be involved in almost every of Ash's Pokemon evolutions these days?

*counts* We have 6 Ash Pokemon evolutions, with Paul tied to 4 of them.
...wait.

And why have you decided that Paul will be present during the evolution Monferno?

January 19th, 2010, 11:31 PM
I'm frankly not happy with it; could you tell?

It didn't need to happen. It didn't even need to go past the Chimchar stage; it would've been a bigger kick in Paul's nuts if he got beat by a scrawny, albeit well-trained Chimchar, rather than a giant flaming monkey Infernape. The evolution was only to obtain ratings and make fanboys around the world wet themselves, IMO. Totally unnecessary.I agree that it was a crappy decision to evolve Chimchar, from a storytelling point of view. A tiny monkey beating Paul would be much more entertaining than a big, powerful one beating him.

I think its a great idea for ash to have a infernape :P Who cares if his pokemon evolve while battling paul... i dont think he will in this episode! Starly didnt evolve when battling paul (he did as staravia... but thats beside the point!) WHO GIVES A DAMB!!! Atleast hes gonna have TWO fully evolved pokemon!

Chimchar evolving is the POINT of Ash/Paul's rivalry.

Paul wanted it to evolve but failed. Ash did it. Twice.

Exactly. That will be a massive kick up the butt for a trainer who considers himself far more superior well I say considers he is in most aspects like oh say BATTLING than his Rival. It could only be worse for him if Brandon and Reggie randomly flew out of nowhere with Cynthia and Barry and had a huge long discussion about how much of a better Ash was right in front of him. idk I'd pay to see the aftermath, even if it would most likely not be for children's eyes :'D

You did it wrong.

I do find it funny that people are pissed that Monferno is going to evolve even though it evolved from Chimchar quite a while ago. There's really no reason to complain at this point about something that was relevant months ago.

I couldn't wait for him to have Infernape. He's almost at the last gym leader; he needs strong Pokemon. The Sinnoh league is also coming up and Paul is a tough opponent. He needs final evos now so they can be more prepared.

DP172: Togekiss! The Battle Which it Becomes Magnificent!!

http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r52/Digigirl10/540580.jpg

Basically the summary is saying (although I can't make a lot of the kanji because it is not clear enough for me)

- Dawn with her new partner Togekiss are headed to the Grand Festival and are training hard
- Togekiss has a habit of moving elegantly when using a move, and performance and battles aren't going well
- Dawn and Togekiss are in a bad situation because of something Team Rocket does

This is a very vague description and massively paraphrased of the little I can clearly see from the summary, so there could be errors, but I think this is what is going on. Also the picture from Dengeki is from the Contest Princess episode not this one.

Edit: Fixed some of the vagueness. Still vague though

The special preview on April 1st showed some spoilers of the Grand Festival, such as:

- The Grand Festival begins with DP174 (29th April)

- Zoey's Kirlia and Misdreaves have evolved into Mismagius and Gallade.

- Ursula got a Flareon, while Nando got Loppuny.

- We see a double battle between Nando and Zoey with Pokemon: Mismagius and Leafeon VS Kricketune and Loppuny.

- We see Dawn facing Ursula with her Pachirisu against Gabite (again). We also see their new dresses for the Grand Festival.

Also, a small teaser for the gym battle.

- Volkner has his platinum team considering Ash is using Pikachu and Infernape against Electivire and Luxray.

- Infernape activates Blaze once again, though we don't know if it has control over it yet.

- The league is confirmed to take place in July.

Dawn only has 4 Pokemon, Togekiss makes number 5.
Is Nando gonna be in the Sinnoh League too?
This is the first time we've seen him in like forever. . . honestly for a Battler/Coordinator, he's leaning more towards Coordinator than battling -.-
He's only battled Ash like what once?

Pachirisu needs more spotlight D:
Screw Piplup and Buneary >:{
Screw water and fire combinations, do some Electric and Fire combo's
I'm sick of that Bunny and Penguin.

Wow, Ditto, what's the point of this useless, filler D:

New title; DP 175: Mamoswine & Pachirisu! The Ice Chandelier - Decisive Blow!

DP177: Final! Hikari VS Nozomi!!

So here you have it. Dawn versus Zoey in the finals...

Guy
April 15th, 2010, 12:26 PM
It was pretty much predicted that Zoey and Dawn would have to match up against each other in the Grand Festival. It's only questionable if Dawn is going to win, which I see unlikely if it's anything like May's first Grand Festival challenge against her main rival, Drew. Though, it's surprising that Dawn at least makes it to the Finals, May only made it through to the Semi-Finals on her first try.

/Sigh. How I miss May very much. ;-;

Vernikova
April 15th, 2010, 05:38 PM
If the Finals match is actually Dawn v. Zoey then it's obvious that Dawn will win. I'm not going to check but I'm sure that Dawn hasn't beaten Zoey once this whole saga and losing to her again wouldn't show anything besides that fact that Dawn can't beat Zoey.
