alright,

put the pokemon into your party and add any items you want to copy to it.
next save then put it in a pokemon box on the pc.
save but before it finishes saving turn the power off. you should have the pokemon both in the pc and in the party.

warning: i have only done it on pokemon gold i am not to blame if your game becomes corrupt on any pokemon game encluding pokemon gold

...I first heard of that glitch back in 2000.
It can also be done in Silver and in Emerald.

Emerald? or did you mean crystal? I never got It to work on Crystal, but I got it to work on the other games

Thats the oldest trick in the book

it can be done on Red, Blue, Gold and Silver

but not Yellow, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond and Pearl.

also on Red and Blue the Missigno cheat also duplicates what ever item you have 1st or 10th I can't remember.

Yes this is VERY old. One of the many many many great things of that generation/trading games group whatever.
