Hello, whats a good moveset for a Beauty Contest Beautifly?

November 3rd, 2007, 05:56 AM
Oh. I'm not sure. I don't think we do beauty contest. You might wanna take it to Diamond/Pearl section, I'm not sure.

This is for Pokemon Emerald though

November 3rd, 2007, 06:01 AM
Ouch. Even worse. I mean, technically its asking for a moveset, but I think we only do battle sets.
Ask a mod to move it-you might not get much help here.

I'm pretty sure nobody here cares about Contests, unfortunately.
However, I did find a decent contest moveset for Beautifly...
Sleep Powder
Stun Spore
Shadow Ball
Whirlwind
It's for the Smart contest, though. :(
Claire Bennet
November 3rd, 2007, 12:12 PM
Hmm ok but how do I get Shadow Ball?

November 3rd, 2007, 12:13 PM
TM30. It teaches Shadow Ball.
Claire Bennet

You might not be checking anymore but you can get Shadow Ball in P/D at the battle tower for 60 BP I think.

Is it a Beautifly this week?

November 4th, 2007, 02:16 AM

I'm sorry, I'm no good when it comes to contests, I'm straight out battler
Claire Bennet
November 4th, 2007, 02:18 AM
Hmm where do I get a Heartscale to re-teach my Beautifly Stun Spore? & How do I find out what my Hidden Power type is?
sims796
November 4th, 2007, 02:19 AM
No no, the OLD pokemon of the week. there are two, under the news category:
Pokemon of the week (go here)
4th Gen Pokemon of the week.
4th gen, is obviously new. But the old one has all 3rd gen & under pokes, with movesets, strategies, & contest sets.
Claire Bennet
November 4th, 2007, 02:22 AM
Ok, but where do I get a Heartscale from?

What is a good partner for a Beautifly in a double battle?

You mean actually battling? Not for contests? If so, beautifly kinda fails in those, sadly.

Or you could just use anything with Earthquake... CBDugtrio!!

I just found out I'm going to fight my friend in a 3 Vs. 3 fight tomorrow so I'm using the Serebii guide & wanted to know two good partners for Beautifly

First, you want a CB EQer like CBmence, rhydon, or duggy. The other should be something that covers its weaknesses I suppose...

then you have a serioous problem. Breeding and EVing those pokemon will take too long. you're gonna have to find the best EQers you have and use those.

I normaly cant EV, so in one day is impossible & I don't want to breed

That's what I just said :/
you'll have to find a pokemon you already have to use. Or stay up all night, it's your call.

Would Slaking be a good choice?
Anti Pop Culture Warrior
November 4th, 2007, 03:54 AM
Would Slaking be a good choice?
Yep. Just be sure you have something that can take a hit to switch into attacks, since with slaking, you'll have to switch a lot due to traunt.
Claire Bennet
November 4th, 2007, 03:58 AM
I was actualy using Slaking as he has Hyper Beam, when I use it Slaking needs to recharge he next turn & his ability is activated the same recharging turn

Yeah, but then CBcross comes in for the OHKO...then again, slaking is the ONLY pokemon that can make use of hyper beam, might as well use it I suppose. What happens when gengar shows up O_O That's the beauty of shadow ball.

Choice band heracross.
I mean, if your friend or whoever has a gengar, hyper beam won't do crap to it. Or any ghost, steel, or rock type for that matter.

Hows my Beautifly's moveset so far?
Gust
Morning Sun
Silver Wind
Whirlwind
The only problem is if I take out Gust for Stun Spore I will only have 1 attacking move & after all this is a battle moveset we're talking about for the meanwhile
Anti Pop Culture Warrior
November 4th, 2007, 04:38 AM
Morning sun is bad, especially on pokemon as fragile as beautifly. I's resort to smogon or serebii, as I can't really help on beautifly.
Claire Bennet
November 4th, 2007, 04:39 AM
How about this moveset?
Silver Wind (Main Attack)
Attract
Stun Spore
Whirlwind
This moveset is a mini-annoyer

Whirlwind...it's too fragile to use it as well. Annoyers genrally fail...
I'd use a double powder set with sleep powder over attract. Whirlwind should be replaced, and silver wind is kinda "meh." again, go to serebii or smogon for a good set.

Kingdra @ Leftovers

You can get ice beam at the game corner...and there are a few water types that learn rain dance. Breed with horsea to get it as an egg move (it passes TM moves) and then teach it ice beam.

Woah! didn't see that coming...wow, talk about a terrible pokemon...I'll give it my best:
Magcargo @ Leftovers
Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Reflect
- Yawn
- Substitute
A totally random, probably-terrible set I came up with. It's a bad pokemon...

A rock resist...probably a dual wall rock resist, like swampert, though it's more of a tank...donphan perhaps...Registeel works, though most peopel think it sucks. EQ weak, so yeah...
