What would you prefer? To be considered a geek and to be happy, or to be trendy, popular and unhappy?

This is just a bit of fun XD Don't take it to heart.

EDIT: I would rather be happy and have people shun me because they think I'm a geek.

I'm already a person who has the nerve to lay in the floor of a public place and sing the Oscar Mayer weiner song. Needless to say, I'm not very popular, but I'm happy. :3

At my school, if you're geeky and nerdy, you're pretty damn cool for the most part. :P

Anyway, I've always prided myself in being a geek and I doubt that'll ever change. I've never been into the preppy thing, so this suits me just fine.

This is my kind of thread <33

Anyway, I'm a dork. Caps. DORK. I make a habit if hiding the fact though, so no one at school really knows I am. Just my friend, Patrick who is my fellow closet dork. Yay closet dorks, geeks and anime nerds <33

Sorry, couldn't agree to one of the answers so I had to put this sucks.. :x

Well, not all geeks would be happy and not all popular people are unhappy. Don't sit there and divide people up like that. I'd like to be a mix of the two and experience both happiness and hardships while being smart and popular. I don't want to always feel shunned for my individuality or get screwed for my popularity. I can't live through life staying on the same side of the hill forever so I want to be the king of that hill and have the power to walk on both sides anytime I please. Yay for split personality w/e.

Sorry, can't understand 'geek' or 'popular'. Those distinctions are never used here. I can be individual and whatever and popular at the same time. And that's what I do. It's not like you live a certain way to be popular.

Closet dork...Yeah, that descibes me completely <_<

I'm that dude who has that reputation of being all "badass" in RL, despite the fact that no one actually knows that in my free time I watch anime, and hang out on various pokemon forums xD

It's not like I would admit to anyone I know how much of a nerd I actually am, but if someone found out, I don't really think I would care all that much =/

I'm nowhere near popular, but I'm not nerdy.

I'd like to be popular, but thats not happening

I couldn't agree also because its too difficult to decide. I'm not a geek and never will be and I dont follow trends I'm a leader not a follower

I don't really know.So I didn't vote for any of the choices.

Some people call me a geek because I spend too much time on the computer.
But then sometimes the popular kids tell me to hang out with them.

I'm a geek, but a whiny one. ):

Although I am quite happy with being a geek. As a chronic loner, I somehow found another chronic loner; and we ended up in this chronic loner group with all the other chronic loners and we talk all day long about yaoi and yuri and chronic loner things. =D

My personal happiness will always mean more to me than being a member of the "cool crowd." Besides, I'm a geek at heart (who else went to junior high with a Pokemon lunch box?), I'm proud of who I am, and I don't want to change that to be a member of a herd.

And no, this isn't a hypothetical situation for me. :p I'm happy to be unpopular and a geek, finding friends that share interests. That's how my life is. I don't want to be friends with people who like me for only following the trends of the day.

ah I am sort of a geek, but I am preety unpopular cause I stay away from others so much, and so quite in my school I look anti social lol. (even when I look like I can beat the crap out of you)

I did say its a bit of fun - don't take it to heart. I didn't at all say all geeks are happy, nor did I say all popular people are unhappy. The poll is just if given the choice, which would you prefer?

IMO, neither matters in life.

I'm quite a geek, and happy about it. I have friends who are 'popular', though there isn't such a defined line between them where I am. I suppose I'm somewhere in between myself.

I'm slowly beginning to like who I've become more and more. It's not that I like myself, I'm just beginning to feel more comfortable with who I am.

Though I'm still not sure who that is.

I'm a geek and I'm happy but I also happen to be quite popular =P

Umm...she never said that it was like that. o.o This is essentially just a way of asking which you value higher: popularity or personal happiness. Of course everyone would rather have both, but including that option would sort of take away the point. =O

Anyways, I'm geek all the way and proud of it. I've never been into trends or fit in with the popular crowd and I see no need to try. I've always been a bit of a loner type IRL, so I actually prefer being in small groups of people who I don't have to hide my true self from. Like Hanako said: if people only like you for following the crowd then they're not really your friends. xP

I'm kind of both really, fairly balanced, I don't know how I became popular and renowned in my area back in the early high school days.

I don't have to want to be either... Nor does being popular make you unhappy.. =S

So 'this poll sucks' got my well deserved vote.

Yeah, geek and happy, although I prefer the term "nerd". I can't see myself being anything else.

Gawd. Everyone makes the polls I think they'll make nowadays. I must be psychic. I mean, I KNEW someone would make a poll like this, and a poll asking if you are outgoing or shy. And whataya know, they appear. And this certainly isn't the first time either. :paranoid:

ANYWAYS... I do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to be "cool," "popular," "in", whatever you want to call it. It's changed my personality, my appearance, my everything. I'm afraid to just be myself. I'm afraid to stand out. I'm afraid to be weird. That's why no one knows my true personality... my closest friends whose houses I visited may be the only exception... :disappoin

To tell the truth, I'm pretty popular in highschool. I was once a cheerleader, I have a lot of friends, and worthy as attractive.

But I'm also in the anime club, hang out with weirdos that would rather watch Haruhi Suzumiya then go shopping. So, I'm basically both: A nerd and a "popular kid".

I suppose I'm lucky.

I`m a popular geek/Dork. I`m so weird and random but its kinda whats made me popular. I`d so much rather be a geek though. It hurts at times but hey its easier to be happy then.

I dont exactly know which answer should apply to me.
I am a very outgoing person, fairly popular..who loves almost everybody and is always smiling.Yep, i am not commonly upset. At the same time.. i feel attracted to fashion, aesthetics and trendiness by all means. That trendiness points to tech (& fashion on a minor scale) which i am always up to date.I guess i am geeky at heart, i do unlock cellphones for example.I guess i am bit of both worlds.

I would despise being popular.

I am not in any way popular at the moment, and even now I dislike the attention I get by a lot of people. XP I'm just weird like that.

I'd rather be the geek.

I'm sure those popular trendy unhappy people would want to commit suicide.

We call them "Emo's".

I'm a nerd in cool clothing. Seriously, I can't resist anime and video games, but at the same time, I play almost every sport and I'm friends with almost everyone.

I guess it's good.

I'd want to be a happy nerdy dork with people who liked me that way.

LOL, REPHRASE; I am a happy nerdy dork with people who like me that wa (I hope). Doesn't mean I'm popular, but I'm happy. o3o

Being popular means people pay attention to you-- NO THANK YEW. I like being in my own little secluded corner of life and happiness while being in on the gossip and stuff.

Yeah, I'm a social person, but I don't like too much attention >.>;

I'd rather be trendy, popular, AND HAPPY. LOLOLOLOL.

*shot*

But yeah. I don't really think this is a fair poll. It's sort of like those typical, "BEING POPULAR IS BAD." kind of things. DD:

So I didn't vote on this poll, but I'm kind of both. I'm more dorky than popular though, SO IT'S ALL GOOD.
