I have a bomb threat pending at my school tomorrow. So I don't have to go tomorrow, YAYZ! ... Is that freaking anyone else out? BOMB THREAT!
Oh, and we have fire alarm tripped every two weeks...

What happens in your school?

Whoa, bomb threats? That's a bit extreme.

Nothing ever happens at my school, usually. We just get the fire alarm set off often as well.

I know xD either someone really want a quick vacation (we have like a 4 day weekend after tomorrow) or it's really terrorists. Last night, they brought k9's to our school and sniffed out all the lockers. Seriously, what they're going to do tomorrow is bring more security, more cops, and still encourage students and school staff to come to school. How dumb is that?! If the bomb was properly placed, *today* they wouldn't be able to find it tomorrow, and oh, did I tell you our school has over 4000 students (in a high school) So 4000+ students + cops + extra security + teachers and staff = a really dumb gathering and literally asking to get bombed... That's why I'm not going tomorrow.

Well, back when I was in 8th grade (Spring 2005), there were bomb threats, as well as a hit list of students to be targeted made at the middle school I attended and the community center attached. In one of the family locker rooms at the community center, there was even a box that said bomb on it. The community center was evacuated because of it. They arrested a school cook, who was the mom of one of the kids in my grade. At the high school, at the same time, there were bomb threats written on the bathroom wall. A 17-year-old girl was arrested for that, though her arrest occurred before the cook's, but the incident occurred after the initial incident at the middle school. In addition, this was only a month and a half after the Red Lake, MN school shooting. The town I lived in had just achieved 10,000 people at that time, too, so it was a small town, but quite suburban because of proximity to the beltway here (20-30 miles out).

Back at my old school (before everyone there went to the new one) this guy in my PAL class (he was a wanker) stabbed this guy (he was ok). That was in grade 10.

The occasional fire alarm and fight.

I saw my first fight today at lunch and almost got in on it but the vice principles came out first.

well, back when I was in High school not much happened (aside from some total poo*head acting his way into the position of administrator and absconding with enough $$ that they eventually had to close the school right after my jr. year, thus forcing me to switch to public school that was 400% larger in students, no axageration here, for my final year), however in college it became really annoying when idiots started setting off firecrackers in the hallways of my dorm at like 2:30 am. (though as soon as the threat of an actual fire was gone I was always let back into my room first, because I lived next door to the Dorm Coordinator and we were good friends and he knew I'll never do anything that stupid)

In my freshman year of high school, as the senior prank, one of the grade 12s laced all the stairwell railing with some sort of powder. I forget what it's called, but when it comes into contact with moisture, it turns purple. So when someone would hold the banister on their way up or down the stairs, they would come away with a purple hand.

So when people started showing up at the office with purple hands, asking what was wrong, the school went into lockdown fearing the worst. It was right near the end of the day, too, so we were stuck there for an extra hour or two. D: Officials were called and in the end, every single student had to be checked for the substance on their skin and in some cases, hosed down if it was really prominent. The next day it was discovered that the stuff was harmless, but it was still pretty crazy.

This didn't happen at my school, but it happened at the mall which was more or les right next door (there was a small field between the parking lot of my school and the mall's parking lot). This year, near the end of the school year (June, I guess), there was an armed bank robbery there. Basically two guys robbed the bank, hijacked a car, drove to some random house and took hostages (I think? o_O), exchanged fire with police around an elementary school playground, and eventually got caught. Not sure about the order of all that, but... yeah. It happened and I had no idea. The school went into lockdown, but I was in the attached theatre when it happened and no one there was alerted. xD;

Considering my school was in suburbia... that's rather insane. :x

My college is pretty quiet. Aside from the random construction that's going on now that's tearing up the entire campus. Oh, and the tuberculosis scare that's going on now.

The college that I'm transferring to keeps publishing articles that are crude and offensive to half the world's population. Plus, there's someone on the campus that keeps attacking the teachers.

in my highschool... the weirdest thing that happened to it was when it was infested by crickets.... and I mean.. INFESTED....

me and my buddies chipped in and bought like 3-4 pounds of crickets on April Fool's of 2004 and went all out... hahaha....

imagine seeing 'em everywhere.

I remember when the first bomb threat occurred here. I was staying home from school and I had just received a phone call. The woman next door was trying to get a hold of my mom to inform her of the threat, but she had already escorted my sister off to school. I was scared and I was currently attending middle school at the time. I expected my mom's and sister's presence soon. That was the first time it happened.

For the second time, I was in the eighth grade. I was walking along side with my sister towards the school campus and I see a few of the office ladies standing outside. It was awkward because they were the only people there, so I made the assumption of being tardy. I was preparing myself to have a seat on one of the benches until one of the women told me to go to class and that there was a bomb threat. What the eff? My mom just left and there seemed to be no other option, so I was under lock down with my peers. This was in the morning. Both threats turned out to be hoaxes. The first one I heard was just a mysterious box placed in the cafeteria and the second was a phone call to the school about the presence of a bomb there. I guess authorities traced the call and caught the guy, but I'm not completely sure about that.

I was under lock down again when I was a freshmen in high school. It was the class before lunch and a bank robbery had just taken place and the robber happened to be armed. The police told the principal that the gunman had made his way towards the school and everyone was locked inside their classrooms. I remember I was in English class at the time but I don't remember what I was doing. I was excited though. I guess I wanted something intense, but not extreme, to happen. I don't know the whereabouts of the robber now, but that was a few years ago. I remember seeing a flier of the robber as well as a picture.

Aaaand I think that was about it. I missed out on the senior prank last year. I heard that the benches of the school were stacked on top of the roof. Lame.

At my school, we had a water main brake, flood our basement, and shut off the elcetricity. Which is why I don't have school this week, and how I found this site.

We also had a bomb threat:
Turned out to be a can of beans wraped in a sleeping bag.:\

Nothing that crazy or stupid happens at my school. <_< But the funniest thing to happen is when these kids were kicking and pelting a basketball around and they kicked it a little too hard and smashed it through a window. The school went silent, the kids that were responsible were like "Oh s***!" and sprinted away into a building and up the ramp, there were teachers ironically blocking the direction they were running, so they ran the other way. Surprisingly there were teachers at the other end too. The kids made their way around and ran out of the school. XD

Last week, my class was late going upstairs after lunch. Out of line, I happened to walk over to the ice cream cooler and there was a swarm of gnats and mosquitos living inside it. Now all week, they've been flying around my table at lunch. Luckily, I don't have school again until Monday. And two kids got suspended for fighting in a classroom. (Only for one day.) Everything else is pretty much boring. Except in September when we couldn't have recess because a 13 year old girl got raped down the block.

A lot of wierd things happy at my school. I think my school is just plain crazy...
There's this staph infection going around called MRSA, and all other schools around mine get it. So my school freaks out about about it and cleans everything. we use to have wooden bathroom passes and stuff, and we got rid of those because they're germy. My school also put hand sanitizers everywhere even in the gym. Also in gym, you have to take your clothes and stuff home every Friday so the ganitors can clean your lockers and wash them. If they find clothes in them, they wash it and then you have to pay in order to get them back.

Also... lots of fake bomb threats.

Also across town at the other middle school in town, there was a guy who was going the take two different races of people outside and blow them up (a depressed 8th grader). He was sent bye-bye in a cop car and hasn't been heard from since.

I dont think there's ever been any bomb threats but since my school is in a rather busyish area not too far from the projects/public housing and a very urban area, there's always been crap going on. We're right by another high school and both our schools have had our fair shares of lockdowns. In between the two schools, high on a tall hill that's even taller than the giant hill we're on, there's a park and recently there was a gun thing there and people got arrested.

There've been numerous fights and angry parents/students at my school and there's always a safety officer around (which is good)

It's true. Something bad happens here everyday. If its not this, its that. If its not that, its this. If its neither of them, the President is on talking about the war in Iraq. New York by itself is crazier than anything else. Maybe that's why our schools are so crazy too.

That's terrible. Girls shouldn't get pregnant so young, most aren't mentally ready for sex. Since in schools they'll drop out.

And another girl in my grade got pregnant over the summer and dropped out of school. She's screwed...

Last year, before we moved, there were 2 moms who turned out missing. It happened down the block to where I used to live. One turned out dead and the other one was never found. I'm not sure if they found her yet cos I haven't been paying attention to Chicago news ever since we've moved. It sucked since we couldn't go outside.

Oh yea, two of my best friends got shot in the leg by gang members. Yes, we have gang members where I used to live ><; They took out their guns and shot them cos they wanted something - err ... I don't know. But yeah, a shooting happened to my friends.

And something else that happened out of school. We got a tornado warning once in the middle of July. The weather was acting like so wierd. There was freaking ICE in JULY @.@; but only for that one day. We were trapped in a building and couldn't get out because the winds were so heavy.

Okay, so after we moved, my friend told me there was a flood at school. - pretty much the whole neighborhood ><;

My old community was wierd xD

Not true that they'll drop out.
I know at least ten people that didn't drop out because they had a kid.
One of them is really young, though.
Like, 15 or so?

I'm not saying kids should get pregnant, though.

I read that whole post and it sounds more like a series of events happening in books or films etc.

In real life, I'm amazed to hear that all happened.

Last year, the fire alarm was set off. The fire department was informed. Turned out there wasn't a fire and it was a false alarm. Problem is they couldn't turn the thing off...so the alarm was ringing for like an hour while all the students were outside waiting for someone to turn the thing off. So the whole school random did Mexican waves.

Yeah, that was a funny day.

Yeah, my school tends to be the focus of my state county public school system; no matter the situation, my school is somehow involved in the response.

This was true when my school was closed to shelter refugees from a chemical fire that happened last year. There were much more convenient evacuation shelters available, yet the school system still chose mine...
