I tend to recommend ones I have seen that ...seem to be not as popular like Aishiteruze Baby - it is a comedy romance.

Well, for a lot of things, I'd recommend the manga instead of the anime as sometimes the anime runs short.

Such a case is Ai Yori Aoshi, a harem anime like Love Hina.

I like short ones because I like things that have an ending. If something gets dragged out or doesn't get resolved it is very frustrating!!

Shorter ones, but I won't mind many season anime that have a close to the story after each season, but are linked together. Example being The Slayers. Every season has it's own plots and stories that end at the end of the season. Plus, it isn't totally necessary to go right to season two or three, but you'll miss some of the story.

26 or less episodes for me, usually.

Easily Fullmetal Alchemist being my favorite anime and Edward Elric being my favorite character. <3 They win by default.

Fave genre of anime:

FANTASY (i.e. FMA, Vampire Knight, Naruto, Bleach). I'm a sucker for things that aren't of this world. I also enjoy some slice of life series (Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, Someday's Dreamers..etc.) and that's about it really. I'll try any anime at least once before I decide if I like it or not. XD

As I said, mostly all of them except for maybe sci-fi. =/ Doesn't really interest me, though I did like Ghost in the Shell. :)

Instead of a long arse paragraph telling you to go watch FMA, I'll tell you to check out some more unknown titles, such as Peach Girl, and Someday's Dreamers. (I'd also tell you to go read Vampire Knight since its not an anime yet..., but alas, this is the Anime Watchers Club...so I won't and just say I did! XD *shot*)

I'm divided, really. I enjoy short animes like s-CRY-ed, Haruhi Suzumiya, Gravitation and others because there aren't fillers and the series is overall done better because time isn't wasted. However, I love long series such as my adored FMA and even longer series like Naruto (Shippuuden) and Bleach because you get many episodes dedicated to certain characters and there so much character development that I start to like them. Yesh, I'm a person that enjoys fillers, sue me. (No, Mary Sue me. XD That way I'm with bishies! *shot again*

Fave genre of anime: Oh wow, I think it has got to be a tie between Fantasy and Romance Comedy(Or Comedy in general).

What genres do you like/dislike?

Like: I love Action/Adventure, Magical Girl, Comedy, Supernatural, Mystery, Romance, Drama, Slice of Life(Whatever that is, lol), Some Sports, etc.

Dislike: Horror, yaoi/yuri, shonen-ai(even though I will check out "Loveless", that is about it! If I don't like it...I will drop it in a heartbeat.), hentai, anime that doesn't have a plot, anime that ends with no ending, Sci-Fi(really don't dislike this one, since I watched a few anime in this genre and it isn't that bad. But in general, I don't get into this one a lot.), Mecha(read what I put on Sci-Fi)

Uh...well I recommend that everyone watch Naruto, Bleach, Ranma 1/2, Sailor Moon, FMA, Lovely Complex, and Azumanga Diaoh. But I guess most of you guys seen these or watching them. So as of right now I don't have recommendations. ^^; But I will soon...

Well I like them both actually. I really don't mind watching a short one as long it has a ending or they will actually continue with Part 2 later. Just don't stop whatever it is! Continue it! But it doesn't happen sometimes. Usually I want to enjoy the anime from its entirety. If they follow the manga and the manga is long, then the anime should be just as long. Well that is what I feel about it. ^_^

Most of the Sci-Fi anime are about giant robots and the like, and that doesn't really interest me. This is weird, seeing as I am an Aerospace Engineering student. XD

I started watching Cowboy Bebop, as I heard it was good. Same with Neon Genesis Evangelion, which is quite all right. But I still prefer the ones I listed in that last post.

One thing I want to add. Well the good thing is that a anime is in some type of genre, it can also have another genre. Like for instance, Inuyasha. It is a fantasy anime. But also it is action/adventure, comedy, romance, etc... So if anyone have these genres as their favorite, they will like that title.

Ooh, thanks for the welcomes people. :3 Glad I got to join. I see everyone mentioning that they don't like yaoi/yuri or shounen-ai and I had to say my point of view on this. While I like the love between boys, I usually only really like it if its canon i.e. Gravitation, Loveless, Yami no Matsuri...etc. I still do pair guys together that aren't canon (for me, its mostly Naruto x Sasuke, Deidara x Sasori..etc..), but I usually only like it because its adorable. XD I don't really want to see them...you know. I just think their relationship is cute. And Lucy, btw, Loveless is really good, its a wonderful series. It's one of the few shounen-ai's that doesn't throw the boy love in your face. It lets you see it slowly. That was one of the aspects of it that brought me to watch it... :D

What was the first anime you saw? And what was your reaction when you seen it?

Well, technically, my first anime was probably Pokemon when I was a six year old. I don't really remember what I thought about it, I just remember having the hugest crush on Ash. lol. I found out that the first actual anime I ever saw was a movie called Scamper the Penguin here. I watched that when I was like four and I found out last year, twelve years later, that it was an anime. XD If we go by what I remember, my first real anime was Inuyasha. I loved it sooooooooo much, even though I snuck to watch it because my mom didn't like Inuyasha's dirty mouth. (I was nine at the time...oh wellz.) Watching this anime led me to watch every anime on [adult swim] and so here I am now, eight years later and still staying up every single Saturday night watching my beloved anime. <3 yay, I enjoy it!

That's hard. XD I live in Kentucky, so almost everyone's seen animes that I've seen. lol. Um, *thinks*.................I guess maybe Someday's Dreamers? It's not too popular (the dub isn't all that great. -_-;) but its a great series. I kinda wished that they'd made the series out of the second manga (Someday's Dreamers: Spellbound) because it has a better plot and more of a slice of life series rather than just another common magic show. :/

Alright! Sailor Moon rules! I watched up to SuperS. I need to watch Stars though. So I have about 37 more episodes to go until I finish the series. Sailor Mars is cool. But I like Sailor Moon better. XD And Sailor Mercury and Jupiter. ^^ Hmm, I think I'll rank them like this:

Mars > Mercury > Jupiter > Venus > Moon

Ami was my favourite originally, but I just fell for Rei. XD A friend of mine's favourite character is Usagi, and mentions that we fight a lot like our Scouts do. It's funny because it's true. =D

The only same-sex pairing that I support so far is Soifon x Yoruichi, from Bleach. They are just too cute together, especially in the clips at the ends of some of the episodes. ^_^

What was the first anime you saw? And what was your reaction when you seen it?

It was Pokemon, I admit it. When I was changing channel one Saturday Morning(should be doing my chores, lol)I came across a episode of it. And it blew me away. The animation for that episode("The Song of Jiggypuff") was top notch and it threw me in. And the rest is history. But as of right now. I am not following it anymore. It isn't as good as it once was. Oh well...

And I think I watched Maya The Bee, Noozles, Speed Racer, Ronin Warriors when I was a kid. I thought there were very nice cartoons, I didn't know they were anime at the time, lol.

At first when I had my cable internet connection(Back in 2005), I started to watch Bleach. I don't think no one heard about that one, well except a few people. Oh maybe REC, Marmalade Boy to name a few.

Yes I do! I think they are cute and hot, lol.

My number one is got to be Renji Abrari form Bleach! He is pretty hot, lol. But there are others too, but they are too many for me to name. XD

Ami was my favourite originally, but I just fell for Rei. XD A friend of mine's favourite character is Usagi, and mentions that we fight a lot like our Scouts do. It's funny because it's true. =D

Naruto's really good if you look past the fillers. Watch until episode 150 or so, then check out episodes 217-220 and then watch Shippuuden. It makes it a whole lot better. And Lucy, Gundam SEED is kinda boring unless you continue watching to the middle of the series. D: one of my friends (who's a gundam NERD) showed me the error of my ways and now SEED is one of my favorite gundam series. My favorite is G Gundam though because it focuses more on the characters rather than the gundams and war like most gundam shows. :)

Well, lemme look around my room. I own an Edward pillowcase, Roy blanket, a BLEACH poster, a Naruto poster, a Fullmetal Alchemist and Bleach Calendar, about 68 mangas, every Shonen Jump including issues #0 and #00, I have 45 anime DVDs (which includes the whole FMA, s-CRY-ed, E's Otherwise and Black Cat seres), I have the State Alchemist pocketwatch and the Alchemist insignia necklace, about three FMA t-shirts (one with Ed and Al, one with Ed by himself and one with the blood seal enlarged) and then I have CDs full of downloaded and bought anime songs. :D I guess I have more than I thought that I did.

Hmm, that's a hard one. Probably Infinite Ryvius. My best friend bought me the first DVD for my birthday this year (back in May) and the dubbing wasn't all that great and the plot seemed kinda stiff. The episodes seemed to go on forever. If I got a chance, I might continue it, but for now, I'm spending my money on things I want more, like Haruhi Suzumiya, Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLES and Peach Girl. :D

But that's two episodes out of nearly one hundred. Yeah....and I guess it's obvious that I am a Naruhina supporter. ^_^

The last anime episode I saw was Princess Princess. It's about three guys in an all-male school who must go to class dressed as girls. A friend of mine liked the series, so I thought I'd watch an episode. It can be funny if you aren't homophobic. ^_^

As for Inuyasha, I watch the dub for the simple reason that I can't find the sub. XD

If I think the sub is bad, then I will stick to the dub. But I know the original will always be better. I just want to see anime in English. And as long there is Japanese with English subtitles, I am set. If the DVD didn't include the Japanese with English sub...then that is not good to me. It has to have it, but if it doesn't oh well. I guess it will do.

At the top of my head I could think of one conflict. I know there are others. In One Piece, Luffy the main character ate the Gum Gum Devil Fruit. He can make his body to rubber. The only downfall is that "he can't swim". To use the fruit power you have to give something up and in Luffy's case it was to be able to swim.

Hmmm, if I was to make one myself, I might try to base it off something untraditional. For example, the Animorphs book series. If that were an anime I'd finally be able to put a Sci-Fi anime in my top 10. ^_^

Recommend an anime:

Shaman King

The manga starts with Manta Oyamada, a studious middle-school student in Tokyo , attempting a shortcut to get home after a late night of cram school. The shortcut comes in the form of a cemetery. It is here that Manta meets another boy named Yoh Asakura (who happens to be a shaman), but is frightened to discover that Yoh is surrounded by ghosts (it is at this moment that Manta learns that he can see ghosts). Ultimately, Yoh and Manta become best friends, and, over the next few months, Manta learns about the life of a shaman.

Yoh soon encounters Tao Ren, with whom he battles. Anna Kyoyama, Yoh's fiancée, soon enters the picture and prescribes a brutal training regimen, in order to prepare Yoh for the upcoming Shaman Tournament. The tournament is held once every 500 years and is a battle between competing shaman to choose a winner, who will be known as the Shaman King. This winner will gain the ability to reshape the world as he or she chooses, to make his or her dream come true. Thus begins the plot that will lead Yoh on a journey that will lead him to many friends and adventures.

If you were in Japan, would you go to the studio of your favorite anime? And while you there, what would you do?
I would easily go to Studio BONES and make them have another FMA series that I would dictate. XD

If you could make an anime what might it be about?
I love Lucy's idea, I'm a sucker for romance. XD And I would love to have an anime that would take place in the future and its about the war. D: then again, according to the Gundam creators, SEED and Destiny are based on the Iraq war.

Have you noticed this about anime? Opposite things....conflicts for instance in "Umisho" The main character teaches people to swim but he himself is afraid of water and does not swim.
The first one that pops into my head is Sasuke. He wants to be strong enought to defeat his brother and he says that he's not going to do what Itachi wants him to do and yet, he severs his bonds and its slowly becoming just like his brother. <<; Sasuke's so stupid.

Have you been to an anime convention?
NO. :< I really, really, really, really wanna go to one and I told my mom that me and my friend Lain are going to one after we graduate next year. XD We're going to an anime convention that both Vic Mignogna and Dave Wittenburg are at, lol.

This takes place in the country of Japan in the Kanagawa Prefecture. 22 years before the anime takes place, a large and grand earthquake forced the land up into the air, cutting off the survivors from the mainland. The survivors were isolated and the place began to be known as The Lost Ground. Kazuma, one of the many children born in this secluded place, is a seventeen year old renegade, earning money by working with his friend Kimishima. Kazuma isn't doing normal work however, he's using his alter power. Alter is the ability to break down material things and reform them with mental effort. Kazuma's Shell Bullet (which forms around his arm) has made him a very strong alter user able to defeat anyone that passes him.

The mainland has realized the growing number of alter users and from their police force called HOLD formed HOLY, a department consisting only of alter users. They figure that only alter users can defeat other alter users. Kazuma, after defeating another alter user is seen by HOLY and is captured by one of the higher ranking members, Ryuhou. This sparks anger in Kazuma, seeing as he hates being used and he can't seem to give up his hatred for Ryuhou for capturing him.

The story continues with this never ending rivalry between Kazuma and Ryuhou and the truth behind HOLY and its link with the mainland.
