The Christmas Clash.

We ask of you...
• Log in DAILY!
• A friend code and name
• No sore losers
• Don't claim an invalid win
• Don't use hacked pokémon..

The clauses are pretty open ended. I have 3 that are followed in EVERY match, but the competitors decide on the rest themselves.
ESSENTIAL Clauses:
• Hax Items Clause- Items that enhance your pokémon's abilities drastically (eg. Quick Claw)
• Sleep Clause - 1 pokémon asleep per party
• OHKO Clause- One hit knock out's aren't allowed.
Theses are clauses you and your oponent can decide on:
• Ubers Clause - Basically no legends + Wabbufett
• Species Clause - 2 Species of Pokémon in your team max.

Heats will be fought 3v3, and in the quarters we will shift to 6v6. Just to make things more intersting :3
Dates to note:
15th-17th December; Heats Round 1
19th-21th December; Heats Round 2
~It's up to you and your opponent to decide on an exact date.
22nd December; Quarters
23rd December; Semi's
24th December; Final
25th December; Prizes!
When deciding on a dat and time, you have approx. 1 hour lea-way to battle on time. If it is reprted that you don't turn up TWICE, you will be disqualified, and the win will go to your opponent.

Quarter Finalists; 3 Shinies OR 1 Event
Best Effort; 10th Anniv Celebi, 10th Anniv Lugia

The fights are 3v3, then starting with quarters, it changes to 6v6.

It's spelled Christmas, and I havn't read the entire thread and don't know if that has been mentioned yet, I'd get a mod to change it. xD And I have a question, do we have to include a banner/link to here if we join? I like my sig the way it is, but could throw the link into my banner instead of my fan club link.

XD No sleeping moves!? That sucks! My Noctowl only knows Hypnosis, Reflect, Air Slash, and Roost. She's useless without her sleepiness! Can you just make it sleep clause (only one pokemon on either team can be asleep at one time, and if they break it they forfeit the match?)

Alright, banners aren't a nececity, but wouldn't you like to know who you're facing beforehand?
And the only way to face someone if the contest is filled.
Also the sleep clause.
It doesn't mean no poké's can go to sleep, but no more than 1 can.
And yes, it will be pretty much 1 battle per day, maybe less, maybe more.
It depends on if I expand the ammount of contestants.

Phew, no hypnosis would kill my favorite pokemon to use. I tell you, it's probably the best Noctowl you'll ever see if anyone faces me. (an Electevire's T-punch can't even kill it, but comes extremely close)

Everyone, you must remember; it is 3v3 heats then 6v6 quarters to finals.
It's no good just splitting your 6v6 team in 2.
You need a new strategy, and then you can have your good ol' 6v6 if you manage to get so far :3

Also, there's 2 heat round now, and the dates have shifted slightly so you have 1 day to prepare for the next battle, just incase you want to change your team and test it.

3v3 matches can't carry any strategy, in this case, if you go 3v3, it's all relied on luck now, so you're saying you just want to pcik out the luckiest

come now, if you really think of it, you only have 3 pokemon in your team, meaning if one pokemon in your opponents team is a full out mixed sweeper, you're obviously doomed

No, a sleep clause is a rule stating that only one pokemon on either team can be asleep at one time, so if you put one to sleep, you're done with sleeping moves. If it wakes, then you can put another to sleep, just as long as there is only on on either side.

Yeah it is just fun. Plus you get a free Munchie (I don't need Phione, I have a Manaphy to breed)

I think that there's enough ruling for the tourney. I mean, that's just my opinon as a free-form player that just wants an unexpected fight, even if one-sided.

Clauses are as good as they are to keep a fair game, yet enough freedom for a lot of teams.

It isn't necessarily wrong as some tournaments choose not to have any legends, whilst some are allowed, uber or not. Its at the tournament directors discretion whether to use them or not.

I think it also depends on what the person you're facing thinks the rules should be. Like there are PMs back and forth. Let's say someone (person1) doesn't want the item clause in effect, but the other person does (person2). And that same person (person2) wants no legends. They can come to an agreement of what will happen. Maybe no ubers instead of all legends banned, and the items clause in effect.

So I think it depends on what the two people fighiting want rules to be, but the 3 that have to be in effect are in the first post.

Well, considering the fact that the tourney can vary in people, 30 is just the line that's being searched for, but more or less can join I believe, thus concluding that the tourney WILL start, even if more or less people are in it. However, it's just my belief.

Evasion Clause - The use of Evasiveness increasing moves are banned (etc. Minimize, Double Team..)

OHKO Clause - All moves having 1-hit KO description and effect are banned, such as Fissure or Sheer Cold. (Banned once Articuno got Mind Reader AND Sheer Cold... the terror)

Also, why is the number 50? Don't you know about proper tournament brackets? Good tournaments need to be done in numbers divisible by 4 (4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 etc.) 50 will inevitably lead to a round robin, and that's something you DON'T want.

Also, why is the number 50? Don't you know about proper tournament brackets? Good tournaments need to be done in numbers divisible by 4 (4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 etc.) 50 will inevitably lead to a round robin, and that's something you DON'T want.

Okay.. seems people are confused with the "standard" rules..

Sleep Clause - Cannot put more than 1 Opponent's Pokemon to sleep. If the opponent uses Rest, that is a different case. Natural Cure is the confusion here, if the Pokemon containing Natural Cure is about to switch, you are allowed to use the "sleep" move.

Evasion Clause - The use of Evasiveness increasing moves are banned (etc. Minimize, Double Team..)

OHKO Clause - All moves having 1-hit KO description and effect are banned, such as Fissure or Sheer Cold. (Banned once Articuno got Mind Reader AND Sheer Cold... the terror)

Hax Clause - Explained above

Species Clause - You may not use 2 of the same Pokemon in the same team.

Uber's Banned - No.. this does NOT mean all Legendaries are banned, only the Uber Pokemon (explained in the following)

Ubers: Mewtwo, Mew, Wobbuffet, Lugia, Ho-oh, Wynaut, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Darkrai, Arceus

Hacked Pokemon/Moves/Abilities Banned - Lol.
