You can use WINE (a windows emulator) to use hacking tools and programs.

Oh dear I miss read to question, so just ignore what I said about PPC if you saw it D=
Right im sure Tile Mole will run on it as it is a Java application. As for everything not Graphical based, there is bound to be a hex editor avaliable for OS X.

Well, as a Mac user I've been hacking with Windows Programs via WINE (a windows simulator) you can get WINE at Darwin Ports (google it)

Pokescript and BufRite doesn't work when using WINE on a Mac. But all other programs do work perfectly.
Does anyone have any program that could run in a Mac with WINE and X11, but, does not need Windows commands [off WINE] like the Compile one?

A native OS X application? What are you asking here? What would be the point in WINE?
Ahh I see, you are asking if there are any open sorce programs around. I think there are, but most of them are coded in silly VB.

Try this in terminal
cd /opt/local/bin/
sudo port install wine
Then after it's done...
cd /opt/local/bin/
wine winecfg.exe
Then just use wine file.exe to start a progam

i got this far cd /opt/local/bin/
sudo port install wine but in the file bin there are two files called port and portf, and both tell me to chose an application.

Open the terminal and type it in, dont go to /opt/local/bin in the GUI file manager, which i assume you have done, as other wise what you said wouldn't have happend.

Very incorrect statement, WINE stands for "Wine Is Not an Emulator".
I don't know what it is instead though TT_TT
Another thing: I've tried that, it doesn't work. I use VirtualBox to hack instead.

Since it hasn't been a month yet, I can still post here.
I am announcing I will be making Mac friendly Hacking Programs, I'll release a thread for my first release, which will be iMap, when I'm close to a beta.
I know alot of you Mac users are going to be excited over this :3

Yes, thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!! I've recently gotten into the Pokemon ROM hacking scene, but was completely and utterly devastated when I found that there were no hacking tools for the Mac!

Yes, I'm on a PowerPC Mac myself (iMac G5), and there are quite a few Windows emulators for it.
They are:
Virtual PC 7.0.3 (PPC Compatible ONLY)
Price: Discontinued
(No longer supported my Microsoft. They even removed its page on their website!)
Notes: Has a few nice features and is considered the fastest out of all the PPC Windows emulators (but not by much).
Guest PC 1.9.7 (PPC Compatible ONLY)
Price: $69.99
Website: http://www.lismoresystems.com/en/
Notes: The emulator I'm currently using. Its speed is reasonable (as reasonable as you can get when emulating a different architechure) and is definitely faster than the other two emulators listed below. It also probably has the best support for USB devices. Worth it for the price, however, it seems to be dead as it hasn't been updated by the devs for almost 2 years.
Q 0.90a89 (Universal (PPC/Intel Compatible))
Price: Free
Website: http://www.kju-app.org/kju/
Notes: The emulator I first tried. Definitely well supported, and if you're only using it to run those ROM hacking programs, should be quite fine.
iEmulator 1.7.9 (Universal)
Price: $23.95
Website: http://www.iemulator.com/
Notes: Complete ripoff of Q! Check here for more information: http://www.kju-app.org/proj/wiki/iEmulatorEvidence
If I've missed any, please let me know, although I think I have gotten all of them.
Another option is that if you have a Windows PC stashed somewhere in your house, you can use Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection 2.0 (Universal) to remotely connect to your PC and use it on your Mac at a much faster speed than an emulator (as long as your internet connection is fast enough).

*ahem* I can't wait for iMap to come out! I own 3 macs and i'm ready to hack :)
Also, In other mac related news I got NO$GBA to Run on my mac book
http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/4637/pdpti1.th.png (http://img182.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pdpti1.png) and I runs 100% speed even in 3D mode (When you go outside) :) :) I would make a vid except iShowU eats my cpu usage so.... yea

You're on OS X 10.5 I see. Then you might want to try ScreenFlow (http://www.varasoftware.com/products/screenflow/). From everything I've heard about it, it seems the best app for screencasting now. (However, still buggy!)
An Opinion: http://www.downloadsquad.com/2008/02/14/screenflow-screencast-for-the-mac-with-style/
(Unfortunately for me, it's Leopard only :()
And I also see you're using Grab to take screen captures. Try the shortcut Command+Shift+3 to take a capture of your whole screen or Command+Shift+4 to evoke crosshairs which you can use to select a portion of your screen to capture. (That's if you don't already know all of this.) There are others that you can all find in System Preferences>Hardware>Keyboard & Mouse>Keyboard Shortcuts (Sys. Prefs. might be set up a little differently in Leopard).
And just so this post isn't entirely off topic, I would just like to once again thank Heatran for promising :t174: us iMap 1.0 by summer. ;)

If you want to run some windows software for rom hacks, try DarWine:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/darwine/ (http://sourceforge.net/projects/darwine)
That will run some windows programs, but not elitemap.
edit:
CPU DUDE!! You have a keygen generator on your pc! Shame on you!

True DarWine is the same as the wine i'm using except you dont have to compile it from source... The sourceforge page you linked to is offical, but outdated, the Updated Darwine is at: http://thisismyinter.net/?p=21
And BTW that folder is not mine, it's somthing my friend did on my Mac (I dont know what it is) in it was a empty .txt file, so I just deleted it
EDIT: Also Thanks DMNT for the suggestion ScreenFlow Its great :) I'm going to upload a good vid soon :) Vid is up NOW! http://www.sendspace.com/file/7wfcvg
