Actually, Itachi achieved the Mangekyou Sharingan when he killed his best friend. It was later that he slaughtered the clan. He was only trying to test himself, to see if he could go through with it.

For those who have read the current japanese manga
What do y'all think about the fight between Itachi and Sasuke? I would prefer it if there weren't so many genjutsu being used. It makes everything confusing. And they finally revealed the purpose of the Mangekyou Sharingan: To control the Kyuubi, but you start to go blind. And apparantely, Itachi claims that Madara is still alive, and helped him kill the Uchiha clan.

News invoving today's Japanese manga chapter (chapter 386)
It seems as if in order to get the final secret of the Sharingan, Itachi must take the Sharingan of Sasuke (just as Madara did to his brother). What do you think is going to happen. Will Itachi suceed in obtaining the final secret of the Sharingan by taking Sasuke's eyes, or will Sasuke beat Itachi and keep his eyes to himself? I think Sasuke will win since he has become much stronger than Itachi in my opinion. It looks like it is getting much more exciting now since Itachi now has a good reason to kill Sasuke.

Hm...well, I think I like Shippuuden Sasuke much more then I like younger Sasuke (even though I love them both a lot) So I probably like the first episode of the Shippuuden with Sasuke, even though he's only just in the beginning.

My favorite episode when he's younger though would have to be...hm...hard to say, he's great in most of them. I really like the fighting between Naruto and Sasuke, but I really like him when he fights Haku. I thought that was kinda kewl. (But I just watched that episode like...yesterday, and have a terrible memory of things. XD)

Yeah, it was a good battle, but I didn't like the first part of it when Sasuke was freaking out. That just made him seem...like a bit of a wimp. :/ But I guess if I was in that situation (and I was just like...me and not some awesome ninja like I pretend ta be :D) then I'd be freaking out as well. XDD

Edit: I won't scream about Sasuke getting his eyes taken out, but I'll be very angry/upset. I don't think he did, though, since the whole series has been leading up to this point and that would be stupid if he did lose to Itachi. Besides, Sasuke hasn't even activated his Curse Seal yet. It can't be over.

Well, chapter 388 spoiler pics are up and they seem pretty awesome (they are here (http://saiyanisland.com/388/)) and it seems as if Sasuke's left eye was taken out and he goes a bit of curse seal, but in a later pic, he is shown fine. I think Itachi used a Genjutsu to think Sasuke's eye was taken out. I think this fight won't end for a while unless they stop using genjutsu. It is hurting my head since I can't tell when one of them is in one or not.

Well, regarding chapter 388
It looked as if Sasuke got his eye taken out, but he was in the Tsukyomi. He is later able to break the Tsukyomi he didn't lose any eyes. It looks like the fight is just getting started or in the middle, but it doesn't look like it will end soon.

Well, they have shown Amaterasu once before. It is the flame that Itachi used to break the inside of the Toad that Jiraiya summoned.

Yeah, a few updates on the manga.
After Sasuke is able to break free of the Tsukyoumi, it leaves Itachi worn out. Sasuke is later able to wound him. They later fight using the fireball jutsu. Later, when Itachi's fireball is losing, he uses his next attack, Amaterasu, leaving another cliffhanger for the manga.

He uses a bolt of lightning to blast Itachi, and Itachi would have died if he didn't use his jutsu "Susanou". We don't know what "Susanou" does, but the next chapter is called "The Conclusion"

Nah, I think all his anger with Naruto died out in their fight before Shippuden. He knew Naruto survived the battle but didn't kill him when he was unconscious. If anything, I think Sasuke still cares a little about his old friend.

Don't forget that Naruto and about 5-7 others are fighting Tobi/Madara and Jiraiya died at the hands of Pein, who has a doujutsu stronger than the Sharingan and Byakugan combined. In other words, don't be too hyped that Sasuke beat Itachi, 'cause he doesn't stand a chance against Pein or Madara.

I don't think Sasuke is that strong. He came up with some shape manipulation and a huge lightning jutsu (a concept Gaara understood 3 years his junior btw). During his fight with Itachi, his chakra ranout pretty fast.

But his current strength is deserved because of his Cursed Seal, as well as absorbing a freakin' Sannin. His base strength is obviously still not that unbelievable, but he's got those two SERIOUS powerups.
