Hi all, a kid at school is holding an all-uber tounament so take a look at the team Ive put together, advice would be nice :)

Groudon@Lefties
Adamant
200HP/100Att/110Def
Substitute
Stealth Rock
Swords Dance/Stone Edge/EQ
Swords Dance/Stone Edge/EQ
Quite a strange tank lead. Subsitute to start things off, followed by stealth rock set up. I dont think there is a single spinner in the legendry tier, so SR works nicely, espectially since quite a few ubers are flying type. Need help on the last 2 moves, seeing as a swords dance would be great if I got the chance to set it up.

Deoxys (Att)@Life orb
Hasty
200Spd/156Att/152SpAtt
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Zen Headbutt
Brick Break
Mixed sweeper from hell. Needs help but i like it :)

Mewtwo@Life Orb
Timid
252SpAtt/252Spd/6HP
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Psychic
Grass Knot
Boltbeaming special sweeper. Grass knot for Kyuber, Psychic for coverage.

Rayquasa@Choice Scarf
Adamant
252Att/252Spd/4HP
Stone Edge
Extreme Speed
Dragon Claw
EQ
Physical sweepr. First scarf set I thought of, needs help. As fast as he is, extreme speed counters my friend's speed deoxys.

Latias@Soul Dew
Calm
252HP/200SpDef/58SpAtt
Calm Mind
Substitute
Roar
Dragon Pulse
Sub+Calm Mind to set up walling, Roar to deal with mewtwo or any other big special hitters. Dragon pulse for STAB.

I need help for my sixth, as im stuck for physical wall ideas. Rate away :)

Just a note, where you say there are no spinners in legendary tier. People use forretress in Ubers aswell.

Fair point, but most of my friends stick strictly to ubers, very few realise how well non-ubers can fare in this tier.

Oh is this just with friend ?

I was going to say you might want Will-o-wisp Giratina or something to stop this.

Arceus'@Leftovers / Life Orb
Adamant Nature
252hp/252atk/4spd
- Swords Dance
- Extremespeed
- Earthquake
- Shadow Claw / Overheat

I hate this set it ohkos like half of the uber metagame.

Giratina makes a nice tank/Wall aswell.

Yeah its a school tournament, easier pickings :)
Nice set, Ill probably use that, does the rest of the team seem ok?

Oh, a school tournament? If you see Aruseus it's hacked. Keep that in mind. Dark_Azelf, standard Giratina spread does nothing to stop Extremekiller, even with Will-o-Wisp. It needs Roar.

Latias does not need all that SDef, Calm, and CM. Give it some Def EVs. Groudon needs EQ, but I would keep Stone Edge as well. Superpower is an option over Brick Break since you're only going to be using it for Blissey and most likely just once. Zen Headbutt is a really meh move, Psychic attacks in Ubers are kinda pointless. I'd make the spread a little more special orientated and replace Zen Headbutt with Fire Blast, Shadow Ball, or even Psycho Boost. Rayquaza wants Outrage over Dragon Claw.

You last Pokemon needs to be a physical wall. I suggest either Lugia or Forretress, or even Dialga.

Hi all, a kid at school is holding an all-uber tounament so take a look at the team Ive put together, advice would be nice :)

Groudon@Lefties /life Orb
Adamant
252 ATT / 252 speed / 6 hp
- Swords Dance / Bulk Up / Rock polish
- Overheat / Fire Punch
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw / Stone Edge

This set is nice and has great coverage, Overheat for steels like forretress.

Deoxys (Att)@Life orb
Hasty
4atk/252spatk/252spd
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam / ice Punch / Grass Knot
Shadow ball
Super Power

This thing is frikking awsome, takes out just about everything

Mewtwo@Choice Specs
Timid
252SpAtt/252Spd/6HP
Thunderbolt / Thunder /Grass knot
Ice Beam / Shadow Ball
Psychic
Aura Sphere

Choice Specs for that moveset. Aura Sphere for Darkrai

Rayquasa@Choice Scarf
Adamant
252Att/252Spd/4HP
Crunch
Outrage
Extremespeed / Dragon Claw / overheat
EQ

Wants Crunch to kill psychics and Outrage to rape things.

Blissey@leftovers
Calm Nature
76 HP / 214 DEF / 220 SP.DEF
- Ice Beam
- Thunder / Shadow ball
- Softboiled
- Calm Mind / Psych Up

This is you anti mewtwo, Uber metagame Blissey. Calm mind Stops Lati@s and Mewtwo from Calm Minding up and raping you. ice Beam takes out dragons and Thunder takes out Kyogre, shadow ball kills everything psychic.

Sorted some things out.

Also replaced moves which provide better coverage in Ubers..

Lead with mewtwo.

Lol Giratina as a Darkrai counter. Also, max HP before defenses.

Lol Giratina as a Darkrai counter. Also, max HP before defenses.

Status absorb Giratina needs max def and sp.def, it has enough hp and has rest, you ev it the same way as wobuffet. Its not meant to beat Darkrai but It absorbs Dark Void, switches out and comes back later with sleep talk, thats what i meant as i assumed there was a sleep clause.

Anyways if you want a Extreme Arceus counter and physical wall this is the best set for it, i assumed you wanted a status absorber as your friends/People in the tourney will want to dark void everything probably, i dont know if there is a sleep clause or not. So deleted the first set i posted, this is the physical wall set.

Giratina@Leftovers
252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed / Impish Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Will-o-Wisp
- Protect
- Roar

No, you don't. You EV it like Cressy.

Yes the physical wall version of it is which i posted in my previous post.

The Rest-Talk set i deleted is evd the same as wobby.

Maybe Lugia but I'm not sure:

Lugia: @lefties **Magikarp
Nature:Bold
Evs:200 def, 160 spdef, 120 hp, 28 sp att
T-wave/calm mind <--(For mix wall)
Roost
Featherdance/safeguard
Aeroblast

Best I thought of. Featherdance lowers attack, but safeguard stops status users. Roost takes away the rock, electric and ice weakness. T-wave hurts mewtwo and switches. Aeroblast for stab and has a base high power.

If the tournament's ubers only, then yeah, Stealth Rock is useful. Just watch out if someone uses a Forretress or something. The other moves should be Stone Edge and Earthquake, so you have STAB and something to hit Levitate and Flying Pokémon.

Deoxys (Att)@Life orb
Hasty
200Spd/156Att/152SpAtt
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Zen Headbutt
Brick Break
Mixed sweeper from hell. Needs help but i like it :)

If I'm not mistaken, the only uber walls are Giratina and Lugia, right? I'd recommend Dark Pulse or something for them, especially since Deoxys in Attack Form is faster than either one.

Mewtwo@Life Orb
Timid
252SpAtt/252Spd/6HP
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Psychic
Grass Knot
Boltbeaming special sweeper. Grass knot for Kyuber, Psychic for coverage.

This is fine.

Rayquaza@Choice Scarf
Adamant
252Att/252Spd/4HP
Stone Edge
Extreme Speed
Dragon Claw
EQ
Physical sweepr. First scarf set I thought of, needs help. As fast as he is, extreme speed counters my friend's speed deoxys.

You spelled the name wrong. Anyway, this should be fine. I'd run Aerial Ace here somewhere, though, but that's just me.

Latias@Soul Dew
Calm
252HP/200SpDef/58SpAtt
Calm Mind
Substitute
Roar
Dragon Pulse
Sub+Calm Mind to set up walling, Roar to deal with mewtwo or any other big special hitters. Dragon pulse for STAB.

Not bad.

I need help for my sixth, as im stuck for physical wall ideas. Rate away :)

Giratina @ Leftovers; Pressure
Bold; 240 HP, 252 Defense, 18 Special Defense
Dragon Pulse
Will-O-Wisp
Sleep Talk
Rest

This is the standard Giratina, though an Impish Nature and Dragon Claw can be used instead of Bold and Dragon Pulse. This is also the one I personally prefer, because it allows for a bit more power.

Alternatively, you could use the Defense Form of Deoxys, and use your last slot for a sweeper. In that case...

Deoxys (Defense) @ Leftovers; Pressure
Calm; 252 HP, 184 Defense, 56 Special Defense, 16 Speed
Taunt
Agility
Toxic
Recover

One Agility makes this faster than an enemy Deoxys in Attack Form that isn't Jolly or something. You can use Taunt and Recover to both allow Toxic to work and permanently wall. Just watch out for Dialga and an enemy getting Toxic or Will-O-Wisp in before you Taunt them.

Now, you have Groudon, whose Drought will call forth harsh sunlight. I'm assuming this'll be Single Battles, so let's add some synergy if you go this route.

Ho-Oh @ Choice Band; Pressure
Adamant/Jolly; 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Special Defense
Sacred Fire
Return
Earthquake
Punishment

Obviously, Jolly is for Speed, and Adamant for power. Your pick there. Punishment helps against anyone who likes raising their stats in any way. Earthquake is for Dialga, and Return's there if your opponent's stats aren't raise, Sacred Fire is not very effective, and Earthquake would hit for neutral damage as well.

Do you mind looking at one of the teams in my signature in return?

Yeah i think im gonna go with that giratina set. It looks cooler than deoxys, who doesnt hav enough HP to wall IMO.

Thanx everyone :)

well if there is one uber that is messed up its choice scarf kyogre. i mean seriosly water spout could murder anything. kyogre already has high SAtk, plus STAB, plus rain dance plus 150 base power of water spout.

El Gofre
December 30th, 2007, 06:04 PM
Try choice specs, its even funnier lol. I dont like using him because its cheap, and i have a grass knot mewtwo to counter the bihatch :)

evilcheese
December 30th, 2007, 06:05 PM
yeah but choice scarf is faster :). anyway there arent that much uber walls except giratina arceus and defense deoxys

El Gofre
December 30th, 2007, 06:08 PM
Yeah but if you can predict chances to strike and switch to prevent damage, its excellent. One time i let my brother almost kill it, then used lunar dance with cesselia, he went mental :)
