I know this is kinda early but I did get permission to do this episode this week.

Okies!!!! Time to discuss this week's new episode that has a super CUTE dub title!!!! Malice in Wonderland!!!!!

So lets dicuss this week's episode featuring dreams that is hopefully not like the ones Charaxes will have for sleeping in for not doing this episode thread. Teeheehee

Well, I am watching it right now and I just realized that the writers messed up one of the jokes from the original episode. You guys know what I mean right in the original Satoshi, Hikari and Takeshi saw a bright light and Satoshi said "Ima no Hikari nanda"(Whats up with the light) and Hikari was like "Atashi ni kikaretemo" (Nothing) and Takeshi was like "So no Hikari Janakute"(no that light) Rough translation but they made a pun out of Hikari's name in the english dub they couldn't do that for obvious reasons.

Anyways I like Satoshi and Hikari's reaction when nurse joy said that she liked Takeshi. Priceless.

OMG my DVR messed up and now I can't watch it T_T

I watched the Japanese version though. So by the looks of it, it was a good and funny episode. I mean it was technically raining badges and ribbons. ^^ OMG it was funny seeing all of those Nurse Joys and Officer Jennies following Brock. Then they end up Poison Jabbing him. xD

Haha! This episode just proves that dream can come true if you believe they can! XD All the Nurse Joys and office Jenny's LOL Brock's dream come true hehe. I was a bit shocked like Ash and Dawn were when Joy said she was waiting for Brock, since Joy always rejects Brock lol. And the multiple Poison Jab was gold lol. You actually think Ash can topple a Rayquaza with Pikachu? lol that was dream but hey anything can happen lol. And as Dawn... you know it was dream since Dawn wouldn't win so easily in a contest with her mom in the real world lol get real. Mismagus was cute, a chip off the old Mischeivus lol. Notice the pun? "Beyond the Gate" I just noticed that. Gigantic Pikachu ftw! lol that Volt Tackle was hot. Great Episode!

In my opinion I thought this episode was cool mainly because in the dream where Dawn nearly got owned and when Migmagius combined with Rayquaza and the fight where they beat Mismagius + Rayquaza. (Misquaza anyone ?)

CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This title was so cute!!!! I just love the sound of it. Malice in Wonderland!!!! It is just so PERFECTLY CUTE!!!! I just so love love love love it!!!! Teeheehee

Okies. The episode over all was great. Still the pokemon center reminded me of that game for the Wii. The crazy looking buildings and all. Then like with Dawn's outfit. Teeheehee Still I would like to be Charaxes right now and yell FANSERVICE!!! Teeheehee

Still this episode was pretty awesome over all. I mean not only did one of Jessie's talents was mention but I have to say the ending battle was awesome. Teeheehee It really seems like the drawers went over and above with making those attacks really coolie looking and that was before the pokemon got really big. Teeheehee

Also I think this episode made a new record in Team Rocket Blast Offs. I counted seven. Teeheehee

Mismagius was in this episode?! That does it, I'm going to go watch it. I don't normally watch the anime, but Mismagius makes it awesome. It's like the Dark Magician Girl of Pokémon.

I have finally watched it. A very amusing episode. Apparently, Rayquaza could be taken down by Pikachu's Thunderbolt and Milotic could be taken down by a Whirlpool attack. XD

Team Rocket broke their on-screen record of blasting-offs. Seven, if I counted correctly. At least their comments during the blasting-offs were funny. XD

Croagunk seemed to be a little out of place during the final battle. Pikachu's and Piplup's cuteness was more apparent in their gigantic forms.

Also... when Ash and Dawn heard Joy was looking foward to meeting Brock... "WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!"

Yet... the dub chooses to mess up our pronunciations.

Here're a few and the comparison with mine.

Rayquaza:

Dub: Ray-kway-zuh.
Mine: Ray-kwah-zah.

Mismagius:

Dub: Mis-mag-ee-us.
Mine: Mis-may-gee-us.

Feebas:

Dub: Fee-bass.
Mine: Fee-buss.

The only pronunciation that was the same as mine? Milotic.

This Episode was a really good episode, the Blast off part was funny and all the Jenny and Joys Poison Jab at Brock that was funny too. The name title of it was good but it keeps remind me of "Alice in Wonderland."

Yup, this one definitely fits you, Reyna.

One word best describes this episode: absurd. The whole thing. Nurse Joy "waiting" for Brock, Officer Jenny popping up out of nowhere, the random "Hey, Ash, you're a master trainer now!", the whole sudden competition and the reasons for it (notice how when Prof. Oak explained the reasoning to be Ash's winning streak and how Dawn's mom said the same applied to Dawn? But she's only won two ribbons...), all of it.

Of course, that was the point of the episode, wasn't it? ;)

It was certainly an unusual filler. Not only does this episode lack that usual "Oh, let's go help this random person", but we have some actual character development......kind of. I mean, we kind of have Ash & Dawn reaffirm their desires to fulfill their dreams, but it comes out so stale that it's too easy to overlook. Nurse Joy seeming to not only know of Brock but actually like him back was also certainly unusual, and I'm a little bit surprised that Croagunk's absence didn't occur to Brock like it did in "Steamboat Willies". Not much, but still a little.

Ah, and who can forget Team Rocket in this episode. The restaurant didn't seem so over-the-top at first (yes, even if it was free), but then Giovanni pops up, and that's when the whole thing spiraled out of the realm of probability. Oh, and I think this is only like the second time or so we've heard Giovanni's actual voice since the VA switch, and I have to say...I don't like it. However, that's a discussion for elsewhere. As for the constant blasting off...well, it was a high point of the episode, I'll say that much.

Overall...while some of it was just too far-fetched for me, it generally wasn't that bad. It was good to see the episode actually revolve around a Sinnoh Pokemon, particularly after the last episode...

This episode was pretty random with everything that happen. It was really fast too with everything that happen but there were a lot of good points to it. One like that time with all the Poison Jabs on Brock from the Joys and Jennys.

What a way to bring back the two of the three big guns of Hoenn, Rayquaza and Groudon, in a kinda sorta of way. As for the tone, maybe it's a jab at "Address Unown," which also was a wacky filler as the characters were trapped in the "magical" world, yet it addressed the recurring themes of the show at the time. Perhaps, this was the writers' way to address the series' issues with itself (Ash's "winning" streak, Meowth's odd love for his boss).

As for sparking a Giovanni VA topic -- good idea. And, yes, tips hat to Icha. Y'know, if I had a hat.

Oh, yeah, there's that too: this was the VERY, VERY first time that they showed it was actually possible for a trainer to posess a Legendary Pokemon...kind of. It might have just been an illusion, but now the door's open, and there's no shutting it from here on out: Ash & co. actually getting Legendaries on their team is now fair game.

Actually, while on that topic...when Mismagius "posessed" Rayquaza, I understand the color change, but...I would have appreciated the bit of fanservice if they had changed it to its Shiny palette.

Worlds best trainer & coordinator huh? I hope I'm never that delusional. Ash doesn't do badly with one-on-one battling but chokes during championships because he refuses to use his most powerful Pokemon, except for his Pikachu. While Dawn has only been at it a few months and lost her first few contests. I loved her in that Piplup outfit.

A free all you can eat restaurant? You would think someone might as least question it a bit before pigging out. Gotta love Team Rocket. Here's your sign. :cheeky:
