waterfall is a good move because even though it is a hm it is used in compietive play ,it is a great STAB move for water types

I have to say surf since the other ones are pretty bad (except for waterfall) or the other ones have horrible battle effects.

Return is a TM, not an HM.

And Fly is somewhat decent, but still not very good, now that its power went from 70 to 90.
Rock Smash sucks, even though it's power was doubled, but may be vaguely useful to some people.
I don't like surf as much because I prefer double battles, although having 2 pokemon with water absorb is a strong combination.
Waterfall is somewhat decent.

I have to say that for me, Fly and Surf are the best when used properly.

Oo, I went surfing today, what did you do?

Maybe the user summons up a waterfall under them, shoots themself at the
enemy with the waterfall, then smacks them up the face while rising high into
the air. Huh? Ever thought of that?

Rock Smash is like Leer with damage -____-
Strength is okay.
Rock Climb is *okay*, but not reliable at all.
Fly is terrible.
Cut is badbadbadbadbadbadbad.
Defog is worthless as it only works twice in the game.

Dive and Flash are no longer HMs.

Outside of battle Fly is probably most handy. I would hate it if we had to cycle or surf all the way to the other side of the map everytime.

1.Rock Smash is better than Cut because it lowers defense

Strength and Waterfall are similar. Rock climb isn't bad because it could confuse you.Rest are plain bad.

Waterfall is a great move. Probably one of the best physical water moves out there.
80 power, 100 accuracy and 20% flinch. whats not to like?

Surf, probably one of the best Special water attack out there. 95 power 100 accuracy and hits everything on the field. whats not to like?

The most useful HM in my opinion is surf. Not only does it transport you across water (which is very helpful), it is a special attack that does a decent amount of damage.

Well now that surf isn't used much anymore I'd have to say Waterfall. It's a great physical attack to have on Life Orb Gyara.
