I actually don't think that sprite of absol is one of the best. To me, it's average, because it looks a bit unproportional.

I like the wailord sprite. They all looks very good but I have to say out of those, Deoxys is the worst.

Magmar looks Awesome, the colours stand out and its very clear.

Jynx's one looks much more brighter and has a stronger purple.

Rayquaza looks much more improved.

One of the worst, would be Hitmonlee, even though its one of my favorite pokemon, it looks really plain in DP.

It has such a gleefully venomous expression.

Unlike the ugly Advance generation sprite, this Salamence has the correct palette. The Advance generation Salamence had a darker blue color.

Big improvement from the other generations. I didn't like the 3rd gen Tyranitar because of how its head is turned and the 2nd gen one was pretty tiny. Then again, so where most of the other sprites.

Like Tyranitar, the D/P Machoke looks the best if you compare it to its previous sprites in the past games. The 3rd generation Machoke sprites were meh and the 2 generations before that were just terrible.

The only R/S/E sprites that I like are Treecko's and Grovyle's.

Metagross, Salamence, Sceptile, Milotic, and Mewtwo had a pretty good improvment from R/S/E.

I will second that wailord is one of the best. It is porportionally correct, and the animation of it is fine. So Ill go with the wailord DP sprite is numero uno.

Another one i love is kyogre, when I look back at RSE it was horrible looking, they truely fixed that and made it work. Tyranitar is another they made just.....work, much better then the previous gens...

I think overall, as a series, the sprites from Pokemon Ranger are by far the best out of every game. When I first picked up the game, I was amazed by the detail put into each sprite, they all look great.

However, I've also always been a fan of the Gold sprites. I love their simple beauty and the fact that they can be so detailed, yet only use 4 colours. Sure, some look tacky and disproportionate, but the style itself has a certain charm that attracts me.

But basically, I think every pokemon sprite looks good.
