Kanto: Charmander
Johto: Cyndaquil
Hoenn: Treecko
Sinnoh: Piplup/Chimchar

Fire Pokemon just make me smile, really ;)

Ive always been a good trainer with water, but the 2nd gen water starter (Totodile) let me down, so I went to cyndaquil.

It may seen strange for a water-lover like me to take fire types, but water starters were quite bad until this generation. Lapras is better than Blastiose for example.

It's kinda hard to pick though, I've played all the games with all the starters, and really I've liked some of "secondary starters" more (pidgey, rattata, etc.. first one you can catch)

Most of these I just chose for their final evolve form, Piplup I chose because it's cute. ^_^

They're all adorable, but I have to say Totodile. Something about the downward-pointing arrow on his belly is so appealing to me, design-wise. Then he gradually becomes more primitive and dangerous-looking, up to Feraligatr, who is just terrifying, with his red spines pointing all over the place.

If you look at the poses of Feraligatr's sprites, he always has his arms up like he's ready to fight. It's just cool to me.

My least favorite is Turtwig! But I guess that's for another thread.

Yeah but Pikachu wasn't 'official'. It just happened to be there I think, correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway Charmander will always be my favourite. Charizard is a beast! Always going to pick the original Pokemon ahead of the later gen's.
