Starters: Fire,Grass, or Water?

I've always been attracted to the fire types when starting my game. They always look cool, and are pretty tough.

My second choice would probably be Grass. The grass starters are always cute! But they burn and freeze!

Water is last....cause..well....water is boring. It makes me thirsty though!

Do you guys have a starter that you favor?

Well i pretty much liked the fire types from Gen 2-4 But Squirtle was a winner in Red/Blue/LeafGreen/FireRed

I didn't really like the Grass type starters..Other than Chikorita ^^

I'll pick Fire types first cause all of'em look cool. Second is Grass cause of Sceptile and Water, well, only Squirtle and Swampert inpressed me.

Well, to me of all the Gens, I like Grass types(yup, especially Sceptile and Meganium)

I usually go for the fire type but in 4th gen I've restarted my pearl game enough times to use all three and my favorite was turtwig hands down, it's just a really tough little grass turtle thingy

To me it's based on the generations.. For FRLG I like Fire most, Grass in GSC and RSE, and water in DP.

I like the grass starters the most.
I chose Totodile on my Gold Version and Chikorita on my Crystal Version. I chose Treecko on Ruby and fell in love with the guy.
I have a thing for grass starters now, so I chose Turtwig on Diamond.

Best grass starter: Treecko!
Best fire starter: Charmander.
Best water starters: Totodile and Piplup.

My starter choice is usually based on personal preference/appeal, but the starters I pick are most commonly Fire or Water type. Of the Grass type starters, the only one I happen to like is Chikorita.

I always loved grass types! Their most powerful move is solarbeam, which is super effective against water pokemon!

it really depends,
1st gen - charmander + evo's
2nd chickarito up to bayleef - magneuim is horrible looking
3rd - torchic + evo's
4th - All are pretty gd but i chose grass to make it even =)

i hate water starters, mainly because i always need to teach it surf/waterfall, the only water pokemon start i accually like is squirtle =), blastoise totally rocks

Fire seems to be the way to go because normally, it's harder to get your hands on a Fire Pokemon down the track when you're after one for whatever reason (Gym Battle comes to mind) than it is Grass/Water.

Although, I normally don't go Fire, and regret it later, Haha.

It's pretty much...water...water....oh yeah water. If not Im not sure which i'd go next as with the 4 gens im 2 water -1 grass - 1 fire.. So Water first, 50/50 on the next one.

I've always had a weak spot for water starters ever since R/B/Y generation. They just seem so much more fun to use, and I thought they had some of the best sprites too.

I never pick my starters by type, I always pick the one which looks best and also has cool looking evolutions.
So far, most of my starters have been fire types (Charmander, Cyndaquil and Chimchar).

I have never picked a Grass starter before o.o

Although Charizard and Infernape are my favourite Pokemon, my favourite type of starter is water. I always used to pick them when i was younger.

G / S / C: Cyndaquil
R / S / E: Mudkip
D / P: Piplup, but then end up using Infernape more.

I will usually choose the fire types (Typhlosion, Charizard and Infernape) but in the third gen it would definitely be Swampert because he has the best design in that generation.

I always chose fire types in the previous generations as starters, since fire Pokemon is my second favourite type. But in D/P I chose Piplup since.. it just looked to cute I couldn't resist choosing it. XD

But next I would choose Grass type Pokemon, since they're really cool~ Chikorita and Turtwig. <3
Water Pokemon are nice but.. they're kind of too similar for my liking.

For R/B/Y, Charmander was #1 for me because of it's eventual dual type. Followed by Squirtle over Bulbasaur. Not because it was better, but because Bulby started boring and ended boring. For G/S/C, Totodile won out because it pulled off the freaky-yet-cool-yet-tough look. Second was Cynaquil because Typhlosion beats all fire pokemon on every point, followed by Chikorita for the same reason as R/B/Y's grass starter. R/S/E was no contest: They all bite. I always closed my eyes and chose randomly, quickly catching Hoenn's Rattata and Weedle. (Zigzagoon & Wurmple, respectivly.) Finally, for D/P, Piplup won over all, because steel is one of my fav. types. Following close was Turtwig because of the total 180º from the crummy appearences of the other grass starters. Way, WAAAAAAAAAY back there is of course, Chimchar, IMO the worst looking pokemon, as well as worst performing starter, in the entire series. Long story short: Piplup, Totodile, Cyndaquil, Turtwig, Charmander, Chikorita, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Mudkip+Torchic+Treeko, Chimchar.

Grass types for me. To be completely honest, I just took a sudden interest to them, so there's no real reason why I just prefer them. I just do. D:

B/R/ is usually Bulbasaur.
G/S is usually Totodile.
R/S is usually Torchic.
D/P is usually Piplup.

One thing i hate about the starter pokemon is Chicoretta i just hate it i don't know why it not cause its week its alright (Not Good) but i just always hated it

I like Fire types a lot, water types come second but fire types are just cool ^^

I always picked the starter that was faithful to the mangas :P Well though if I had a choice uhh.. it would be fire pokemon. Reason being is because there are many many many grass/water pokemon around but very few fire type pokemon. They would always be lame or low on stats in the wild.
