We are creating a game in the region of kensai
You start of on the island of Treeblossom an island with connections to the kensai league and the Pokemon academy.
When you first start off you have a few friends on the island who can become friends and rivals all at once as the games goes on and they go to the academy with you while you also meet a few people at the academy that you befriend or not, the ones from the island will play a huge part in the game and while the ones at the academy start off in lowere positions of importance their importance will increase as the game goes on.
When you make it into the academy the main proffesor Prof. Alder gives you a borrowed pokemon lets you into the forest gives you 5 pokeballs and tells you to catch your starter pokemon and waits until you come out.
With your strarter you start the academy wich is what lets into alot of the plots and troubles throughout the game. Each person from your classes have spots of importance in the game.
After the academy you get to choose your region and then go to that region and start your true journey as well as recieve your starter for that region wich will be your starter after the academy and from then on although you also get to keep your from the academy.
There are quite a few new pokemon all the old pokemon
3 New regions the old regions and the orange islands
As the plot unfolds there three evil teams you will come in contact with and deal with throughout the game.
We have a fully developed script if you want to pm me or my friends on the collaboration list to get a copy of it and get a full feel of the game.
For a funny anecdote we had our main proffesser named Prof. Willow up until we found the Pokecommunity.com forums and saw
the Pokemon acanthite game and we changed it to alder for that reason.

Don't forget a whole truckload of new Pokemon, courtesy of us. One more thing--I'm the writer, kai's the computer genius. We're still not sure what Casey does.

So you're a beginner too, eh? Since I'm working on my first game I kinda need some practice at this stuff. If you want help designing the fakemon I can whip up sketches. I can help with any of the ideas portion of the project, actually. No good at actually creating anything yet but I can sketch and i'm decent at coming up with cool storylines.

Well we've got a sketch artist already, but we would love to see what you could offer us because he gets a little tired doing all of the drawing himself. We have about 40 of the new Fakemon designed already including some of the more arcahic and powereful ones for the end of it.

What's the game engine this is being made on?
kaiwolfx
February 23rd, 2008, 06:32 PM
We have no game engine so far because we do not know how to do anything except for our concept art script and storyline.

Well, I suggest either RMXP or Sphere.

Well, I suggest either RMXP or Sphere.
Could you suggest a good area to get them and tutorials for them.

Google the two of them, and join their respective forums.
Their forums are full of guides and tutorials for you.
RMXP costs $60 to buy, and I don't know the cost of Sphere.

Sphere is free. I'm learning that one.
I'll make some sketches then. ^.^

I would recommend buying RMXP, since a Pokémon game would be easier to make. As far as I know, you'd have to script all the systems yourself in Sphere, while there are multiple Pokémon starter kits for RMXP, the most complete of which is Pokémon Essentials by poccil.

Doesn't RMXP have limited room for mapping and such though?
Wichu
February 24th, 2008, 03:58 PM
Yeah, 1000 maps. Not much of a big deal.

Well someone in one of the other threads thought that was too few 'cause they were using all the regions. Kaiwolfx is using all the regions plus 3 more. Just sayin'. Plus Sphere is free.
Working on the following sketches for the game (all will be named like using real words just like the real pokemon are):
Water/Fire type: Capsizzle (capsize+sizzle) The Hidden Island pokemon (it's a seaturtle with a volcano poised on top of its shell. Idea from the mythical disappearing island that's actually a sea turtle)
Volcaluge (volcano+deluge): evolved form of Capsizzle
Water: need a name. little shark pokemon to evolve into Shawk
Water/steel: Shawk (shark+saw. thinking of a better name): Sawfish pokemon
Water: Don't know what to name them yet. Dolphin-like pokemon followed by an orca-like pokemon
Water:
I'll work on more than just water; I just thought those would be cool ones

Those are some pretty good ideas, Lynn, but here are a few we've come up with--I won't give away too much, but a few entries shouldn't hurt. Oh and the following entries are (c) of all the designers of Pokemon Zenith: The Fall Into Destiny.
Bohann: *name comes from the Japanese words for "final" and "fall", based on a will-o-the-wisp* Ghost/Fire; Lantern Pokemon. Does not evolve. HT: 3'8" WT: 0.1 lbs. This Pokemon has been known to lure unsuspecting travelers into dark forests or swamps in the dead of night, then vanishes when the first daylight arises, leaving its victims lost and confused.
Magmaphan: *Magma+Elephant, a small elephant with no tusks and a large volcanic crater on its back* Fire/Rock, Elephant Pokemon. Evolves at level 22 into Searoderm. This Pokemon we were thinking of making a starter, but in the end we decided to go with one of the original ones instead. It's been known to literally erupt when upset. HT: 2'4" WT: 25 lbs.
Searoderm: *Sear+Pachyderm, a larger version of Magmaphan with vents on its sides that let out hot steam* Fire/Rock, Volcano Pokemon. Evolves at Level 45 into Scorchatusk. Careful training of a Magmaphan produces this Pokemon. Its craters have multiplied into two where there was only one before, and its tusks are just beginning to grow in. HT: 4'8" WT: 125 lbs.
Scorchatusk: *Scorch+Tusk, a huge red elephant with tusks and four craters on its back, plus one additional vent.* Fire/Rock, Volcano Pokemon. HT: 6'8" WT: 200 lbs. This Pokemon is very large, but very docile when not angry. However, its Tusk Charge move is like getting hit by a tank.
Staby: Pre-evolution of Stantler *Stantler+baby, basically a fawn* Normal, Fawn Pokemon. HT: 1'9" WT: 15 lbs." At level 25, this Pokemon will evolve into either Stantler or Elegantler, depending on whether it's male or female. Males become Elegantler and gain ATK power, females become Stantler and gain speed. Which gender will hatch from the egg depends on which parent is holding the King's Rock.
More later!

What we also need help on is some new moves. I've come up with a few original ones, but we're gonna need a lot more. Here are some of mine.
Blast Screen: (Flying): PP 10: Essentially a Detect for Flying types--creates a wind that directs the opponent's attack away from the user.
Incinerate: (Fire): PP ? *don't know what to use so far* A one-hit KO move for Fire types--superheats the environment around the opponent and burns it to a crisp if it hits.
Limit Push: (Fighting): PP 20: The user concentrates hard to push itself beyond its physical limits. Attack power is greatly increased, but Defense is lowered.
More later, as I've said.

It might be a good idea to use 5 PP for the OHKO move, as the other OHKOs have 5 PP too.

Ahhh, I thought that's what it had been! Thanks for the help. Anyway, any more suggestions can be given here as well. I'll create the Pokedex entries for them myself--that's my expertise.

Sorry for the long absense, guys. I've hardly had any time at all do do anything with my college classes, making time for my boyfriend, and other actvities I engage in. I do have some sketches done though. I'll post them this weekend.
One thing on your pokemon names: not to be over-critical but pokemon for the US versions are always named using English words and/or names, so the one named with Japanese words doesn't really fit, and neither does the one that's derived from a previous pokemon name. just something to think about
Shinobitrainer
March 13th, 2008, 03:30 PM
Well perhaps we want to go a slightly different route with these ones. And after all, like you said these Pokemon are named this way for the US versions. So if you think about it, if Pokemon from Japan are moved to America and renamed using English words, shouldn't there be US Pokemon that are named for Japanese words? It makes sense!

Erm, I don't think so. If you're going that route why don't you give them ALL Japanese names? Besides, you're confusing the reasoning behind their names. It makes sense to give them English names because they're for English players, not b/c they're moved to America. The games still take place in the pokemon version of Japan, you know. Besides, these aren't US pokemon, or else your region would be called "USA" and they're not getting moved anywhere, since your audience is English-speaking for the most part. Changing the pokemon naming system would be like arbitrarily deciding to change the way real species are named; it just doesn't make sense to. Eh, w/e. I didn't mean to turn this into a debate or anything. I just thought that a fangame should be consistent w/ the original which is why I said anything. *shrug* Forget my comments.

Well I suppose you do have a point, but I wanted to go with something original as well as normal--if that makes sense.

Sorry for the double post, but I decided to post some new Pokemon moves here.
Gush Bomb—(Water) A high-impact attack in which the user hurls a ball of compressed water into the opponent. May cause flinching. Power: 80 Accuracy: 85 (Physical) PP: 15
Lightning Shard—(Electric) The opponent is hit with several small sparks of electricity that hit 2-5 times. Power: 15 Accuracy: 75 (Special) PP: 10
Flitter—(Bug) Raises the evasiveness of Bug-types by disorienting the foe with several nearly un-seeable movements in the air. (Status) PP: 20
Buzz Cut—(Bug) The opponent is distracted with a droning hum, then is hit with a slashing appendage attack guaranteed to hit. Power: 70 (Physical) PP: 20
Power Lift—(Fighting) The opponent is lifted into the air in the first turn and dropped on the second, rendering it unable to attack for the one turn in which it’s in the air. Power: 75 Accuracy: 75 PP: 10
Compulsion—(Psychic) A move that always strikes first. The user chooses which move the opponent will use this turn. Is more likely to fail if used in succession. (Status) PP: 5

Extremely sorry for the long absense, but i've been having computer problems trying to put in a new Wireless Router, along with various personal problems that have made my computer access minimal. I'm afraid i won't be able to upload the pokemon pics to this site. :-/ Many apologies. Since you already have another artist whose computer is probably cooperating you can use my ideas if you want.

Thanks for the help, both of you. It's kind of disenheartening when you don't get ANY posts for a while--I know you couldn't avoid it, Lynn, but it's still kind of frustrating. Anyway, we shall do our best to make more!
