Well, I've never been worried about radiation from computer screens, but I've been warned by my sister that computer screens give off levels of radiation high enough to possibly slowly cause damage to one's body over time...it's news to me, but I'm still not sure what to think. What are the actual dangers of radiation from computer screens?

Nah, computer don't give off radiation... only CRTS does, alot more than LCDs... I think..

The radiation comes from emissions of ions from the computer screens. Television screens do the same thing. The worst it can probably do is make you more tired, more irritable, and/or more likely to lose focus of things. LIke when you're in class and you have a hard time paying attention even though nothing is distracting you. I doubt it would damage your body much unless all you do is sit in front of your computer or TV all day for a whole year. The radiation very low level amounts of it anyways. It also produces electromagnetic fields which are also low. Any thing using electricity produces EMFs, which may also be dangerous to your health. If you're going to start worrying about EMFs, you're only conern would be microwaves and stuff like that. Simple things like a cable modem won't do much.

I'm sure you won't have a problem. I think the only way it could affect you is if you sat at your computer screen 24-7 for about twenty years straight XD. And by that time, you'd have a whole lot of other health problems too XD. I think you'd have more problems with radiation from a mobile phone XD.

If radiation from wireless peripherals and computers could really kill you, Id already be dead. ^_^

That makes sense, probably explains why I can't seem to concentrate on things lately and miss a lot of stuff even if it's stood right before me, although my concentration wasn't all THAT good to begin with anyway.

Companies have tested monitors (CRTs) for radiation problems. They DO NOT harm the consumer.

If you're losing concentration... I think you just need to get more sleep.

Abby-chan, *you'd* be dead? XD I spent 3 hours straight playing Minesweeper yesterday.... I think I'm already half-dead! XD
