I battled my dragonite against about 70-90 marill.so why did he only get +3 HP stat.

The stat increase will only show when he's level 100. If you compare a non-EV trained Dragonite (Level 100) to an EV trained Dragonite, the EV trained one will have about 63 more HP points.

Don't just settle your pokemon on one state EV train ur pokemon's other states then u will have a mean pokemon when it gets to level hundred.
