Some people have been asking around the forum about playing ROM hacks on Macintosh Computers.
I've provided some download links and a small guide for people on how to use them.

Things you'll need:
UIPS ( Allows Patching and Distribution ) (http://www.zophar.net/utilities/download/UIPS.sit)
VisualBoy Advance ( Version 1.7 for Mac OS X ) (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/vba/VisualBoyAdvance-1.7.2-MacOSX.dmg.gz)
A Pokemon Rom
An .ips download

How to:

Open UIPS and Hit the Browse Button
Find the Pokemon ROM
Apply the Patch
Open VBA
Find the Patched Pokemon ROm
Play and Enjoy

Wow, this was a pretty generic guide :P

Well, I've been getting a few PMs about how to make patches work on Macs, and, since I dont have a Mac, I couldn't answer.
So, I hope this helps them in the future! (and releases me from some PMs XD)

Good work.

actually if you are using vba on a mac it has an automatic patching feature that works quite well.

Actually, there's a nice visual guide of how to do either method (using VBA or permanently patching) on "The World of Rijon" website:

Oh Btw...(Yes I know this thread is 2 weeks old) I'd just like to point out that the last Relased version of VBA for mac is not Universal and has speed drops on iNtel macs plus its just... Buggy, SO I found another version of VBA called VBA-M Which has a Windows port too... But the Mac ver is really nice and it's universal, so you'll have a speedup whether iNtel or PPC To DL it goto: http://vba-m.ngemu.com/vbam/vbaotherbuilds/ and download the DMG

Alwalys ready and happy to help with macs,

Why do you call speaking the truth spam? Is this what the liberal future will have? Totalitarian repression?

Yeah because that's so truthful and coherent and relevant. It's at travesty.

gb2 /b/.

Anyway, thanks for this. :) I have no freaking idea how to work UIPS though.

This Page (http://rijon.nintendo-net.com/patching.html)
Explains how to patch on a Mac... Just scroll down to the Permeant Patching section for how to use UIPS.

What in the hell are you talking about? You made a very stupid comment, and you were criticized for it.

Seriously, if you can't accept criticism, get off this forum.

Thanks cpu. :) But I can't get UIPS to run. It just opens in text edit as a file instead of as a program. Sometimes when I download it it opens in Word... Thankfully Lunar IPS works in Crossover.

He's a troll. Don't feed the troll, just ignore and report.

Me personally being a mac user found this very useful. Thanks Heatran.

Oh and Archon I'm sure Jesus loves Macs. I'm sure the white mac book fits in much better with the clouds up in heaven. XD
