I'd like to share some of my most-favorite pieces. I've been working them into more lyrical formats in the hope that one day I'll use them in some kind of awesome rock band. I can dream right?

Well, here's the first one for the thread. I'll try my darndest to take a good look at some of your poetry and give advice where I feel it'd be helpful.

(Oh yeah... some of my poems have, uh, some strong language. I'll edit those out.)

I had a lot of trouble picking out just *one* to begin with. So, out of the seven 'finalist' poems I have sitting here, I'll select one at random. Hope you enjoy it.

Now He Sees

A survivor’s moment to play host to the crowd.
Finishing his sentence, at the last he’s singing loud.
All the eyes are upon him, an intoxicating trance.
All his heart is blinding light, blinding miracle, blinding dance.

Today the world’s end, the world’s begin,
The first sun is up, the first son of many kin.
Now, to be, he sees and speaks of worth within
Hands upon a cross, rejoicing where he’s been.

A pile of shredded glass once followed close behind,
Tire marks and bleeding hearts was all he’d ever find.
Red for roses, but crimson for wounds unattended,
Prayers for a second life, death for life so pretended.

Today the world’s end, the world’s begin,
The first sun is up, the first son of many kin.
Now, to be, he sees and speaks of worth within
Hands upon a cross, rejoicing where he’s been.

Shadows play host to the rays surrounding.
Meadows say most for the days surmounting.
Crescendos mark the start of life sworn anew
Crescendos mark the start of a walk with you.

This poem is a retelling of the many years it took me to come to grips with the traumatic events of my past. I think this poem is my personal coming-of-age poem. It puts into words how I came to accept God and his plan for my life. It's pretty much my favorite poem.
