New Release: Starter Pokemon Editor
This a program used to change the starter Pokemon in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. It is very easy to use, however we have been noted that it may not work on some Mac's.
You can download it here (http://www.pokecommunity.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=39878&stc=1&d=1206537129)!

New Release: Pokemon Evolution Editor
This tool was developed to edit the Evolution Data in the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl games. It is good if you are laying a ROM and can't trade to evolve some of your Pokemon.
You can download it here (http://www.pokecommunity.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=39877&stc=1&d=1206537129)!
We plan to release some new programs shortly. Until then, stay tuned! :)

Well, if you have a good computer, No$GBA runs pretty smooth.
Plus, No one is going to be publishing any hacks at this time anyways without a Map and Scripting Program.

this seems awsome, and all of them are probably great, but i hope everyone dosent start running to diamond and pearl, the gba games are still good to me. actully this is worrying me a bit.
Pachel
March 25th, 2008, 04:55 PM
Well theres nothing to be worried about as you see there is not a map editor and script editor yet and like gbc hacks gba hacks will stay to but let the people who want to go to d/p hacking to d/p hacking its nice to have much more functions.

By the way, if I must say, I own the game and dumped a ROM myself, and I'm going to play through on the hacked ROM and then use PokeSAV to generate codes to switch my starter pokes and whatnot to my real game! :D Thanks for the tools!

Now, let's see... I'm yet to download these versions, so I'll take a look right now :D. I'll get to work on some icons for these too. I'll edit this post (or, if enough posts have been made since now, post again) once I try them out after, or I finish some icons.

no, in order to get the newest version of no$gba (2.6a) you are required to donate, which doesn't work as his paypal is down.... the debugger version is shareware though, so you do need to pay for that too....
Newest Version:
$2.50 USD
Hobbyist Debugger Version:
$15.00 USD
have you found values to script it hopefully you have moved at least moved far enough to a few values
no... we have not found the scripting values yet... and it will probably be a while until we do...

I'd just like to point out that trying to use these tools in a WinXP 64-bit edition VMware Fusion Virtual machine is not going to produce any results. I tried and they wouldn't work. though apparently if you are using a boot camp partition or have a regular Windows PC then you're fine.

i think i might be able to find the offset for the rival's starters. not sure though...
The starters of the rival aren't by a byte within a script. But they're just trainerbattles. If you wanted to change the starter of your rival, you would need to edit every trainerbattle that involves your rival. It's nothing difficult, just time consuming.
And, glad to see some of that work put to good use.

Gabe, I'm positive you need to donate to go past full speed. I've tried the non-donate version, and the donate-version on my computer, and the non-donate runs significantly slower :P. Wow, that's weird... Feel sorry for him.
Gabe is right, ask it in the emulation forum...
Darthatron, I need to talk to you about some things. :)
After checking the Evolution editor, at the very least, congratulations! You have to teach me, Darth/Fatty :) ha-ha. We should make a list of things people should expect to come out soon, and things that we have/haven't found out about yet.

no it was not a hack... it is by Martin... the official programmer of it... it IS his new DONATION-REQUIRED program... i dont know how many times i've said it, but if it's the one i showed you, then it IS the donation one... it would be waaaaaaaayyyy too hard to hack the speed without source code... that would require reverse engineering, editing code that people would probably know nothing of, and doing some other more complicated stuff...

I have finished my version of the Elite 4 Editor... Darthatron will probably release one too, so stay tuned...
Mine edits:
Pokemon
Levels
Items
Moves
I'm not sure what Darthatron's will edit, but his will edit all that mine does and maybe more... I do know that his will more than likely be more efficient than mine.
Mine takes some time to load the ROM. It doesn't take as long to save, but loading takes a while...
Anyways look below to find it.

I understand This is way more complex than gba because, it extra funtions of the bottom screen; you are using hex to edit this right? I dont know how much I would be able to learn but hopfully I can learn at least one value In hex workshop like apply movement or sumthing with my free time if I have any.
defiantly cant do it now.
I didn't go to sleep for two days studying math and doing a social studies movie-PROJECT
D/P was the first time i ever hex edited, it's not that hard

In other news, Darth will be putting this up on the front page as soon as he logs on (and editing it when I finish going through with all of you folks', that being the PokeSpam staff's, suggestions...)

Why does every story have to include Legendaries? Are they really that important?
One word. Sub-plot.
What's the point of catching all of the Pokemon? You've already completed the story... There's only one game that rewards you with a real prize, other than a certificate, if you catch all the Pokemon- that's Diamond and Pearl, which has added several sub-plots, and several mini-games. Why do you think people continue to play all of these games, even after they've completed the campaign and the multi player is poor at best?

I never used Legendaries. I stopped after Gold because they were too powerful. I wanted a harder gaming experience; even though I haven't really found one in a Pokemon game.

if you're using windows 95, then do this:
copy the file called "tabctl32.ocx" after being extracted from the folder you extracted into to the folder:
C:\windows\system
That should work. First make sure that you extracted both of the other files included in the ZIP file though and try it before copying... Otherwise copy them...

The stories coming along fine so far. I'm around the second Gym. The story so far is about a wise-cracking trainer who acts like a grunt from Team Rocket. However he makes a few friends, and so far the characters are running pretty smoothly.
The hack will need to involve the Hero speaking. I've seen a few Rom Hacks with this, so I'm sure this will be able to be pulled off. Also, since I know nothing about hacking I'll be looking for a team to take interest in the story. So far, I think it's the best story out there (no offense to the storywriters out there. I'm need to be optimistic in order to keep going ^_^)

Can you like make a thread in the scrap box or something? No offense, but... This is a tools thread.

when we get a map editor done, there's no way it'll be old fashoned, it's a 3d game, it'll be a 3d editor. anyway, thank you.
I know, I'm just trying to be funny.

Also don't forget the there's a GoldenEye one aswell.
But to take it into consideration Super Mario 64 is 8megs s times that by 8 its size is 64megs and GoldenEye is 16megs so times that by 8 its size is 128megs so that would mean according to my calculations Pokémon Diamond/Pearl is 64megs in its compressed form but times that by 8 its size comes to a whopping 512megs uncompressed which makes it 8 times bigger than Super Mario 64 and 4 times bigger that GoldenEye which will then mean it would be the most advance Editor to date with all the polygons you would have to deal with and edit big massive routes in the game, also in some gyms you have levels and moving parts to deal with ie lifts, mechanical switches and with the underground it is going to be killer editing that map as it is one whole map that spreads across sinnoh.

if by uncompressed you mean seperated into it's narc files, it's about 53 megs. There aren't many polygons per route, i know how to edit the maps and it's extremly basic 3d, unable to compare to any pc games which have had map editors made for them

I actually went for a quick search on this. I didn't look too hard, I couldn't be bothered :P. But from my little look, I found it's set out differently to GBA games. Of course in DP, the items at the mart change depending on where you are in the game(how many badges you have), and going by the GBA trend, that would be done with scripting, which only makes it harder as we haven't found anything on scripting yet. And we won't be able to look for any form of scripting until we find the way that pointers are set out. So there's still lot's to do.
Once we solve the pointer problem, I'd assume more things would become available to us and therefore the public.

if you're using windows 95, then do this:
copy the file called "tabctl32.ocx" after being extracted from the folder you extracted into to the folder:
C:\windows\system
That should work. First make sure that you extracted both of the other files included in the ZIP file though and try it before copying... Otherwise copy them...

Put the tabctl32.ocx file into "C:\WINDOWS\System32\" and Register it with this program: OCX Register (http://www.pokecommunity.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=40097&stc=1&d=1207399437).
I made it in like 10 minutes, but it should work. (The Icon took 20 minutes. LOL!)
Steps:
Open OCXREG.exe
Click the "..." button
Find the file you need to register. (C:\WINDOWS\System32\tabctl32.ocx)
Click the "Register" button.

Wow, you made a mistake. interdpth is far more experienced in nearly every aspect of ROM Hacking than you, or I. I would recommend taking that back, before someone ends up shooting you. :P
Also, I'm talking to him on MSN and he tells me he has the Data. So... You look rather silly right now.

Good that everyones calmed down now. I read about a scripting programm, so there is one in development O.O. That's pretty cool. Hope we willl be able to hack diamonds maps and scripts soon, because it's like advanced GSC hacking (morning/day/night, daily events, Pokémon in Trees etc.). So good luck with the tools everyone.^^

I found like one little thing when it comes to scripting ;P
It requires some more research, but I have the time.

No, You won't have to master GBA hacking in order to hack Diamond or Pearl ;P
It's just another way to hack, and it won't even be that once we fine tune our tools. Eventually D/P Hacking will feel the same way as GBA hacking.

Aha cool thnx for clearing it out for me. So should I learn scripting with gba or screw it and learn it on D/P hacking.
shinygoldash
May 27th, 2008, 11:54 AM
I don't think you should as GBA scripting was a lot more advanced than GBC scripting.
It's morelikely to follow that path.
One of the best things is that some of the sprites are a lot bigger so you can do a lot better at spriting for hacks.

May 27th, 2008, 12:10 PM
I had almost no GBA experience when I started in D/P, I had just gotten past givepoke and stuff. So I don't think you'll need any knowlage of gba hacking.

Michael Allison Is Not I
June 1st, 2008, 02:52 PM
We're still not quite sure how to change the sprites in the briefcase when you first select your starter. It's also impossible to program it so you can choose the rival and assistant's starter Pokémon, because more than just the starter in your opponent's team is dependent on your starter Pokémon. It's just a lot more streamlined for you to edit the opponent/assistant's Pokémon with a separate program.
Enjoy, and if you could report any bugs, I'd be really grateful.

Like this semi-lame one...
I started something really cool, but then the designer file got corrupted, and I'm too lazy to redo it. However, it's still useful as is.
In the future I might come out with a much sexier version of this, with a lot more functions. This was going to have five, but I only managed to put in three before the designer file went boom.

I am officially ceasing public development of all Diamond and Pearl tools by PokeSpam. When the hacking community learns some respect I will publicly release my tools. A certain "Yung Hove" has threatened to have foofatron hack the tools from me. If a kid who can't find anything past textures and tried to steal PokeSpam data will hack me I'll be damned. I'll also be damned if said kid is able to finish those tools, I don't write all my finds down. If the level of respect has gotten to threats to hack for my hard work to give a community of ignorant kids the feeling of actual accomplishment, I doubt you will ever see my tools. Anyway, it was fun while it lasted, then I learned who I was hacking for. I can not tell you how disappointed I am in the hacking community, I had hoped to help make good hacks possible with the features that Diamond and Pearl offer, but I'm not going to help people who threaten to steal my hard work. I would also like to remind Yung Hove and foofatron that hacking these tools from me would be criminal, and if it happens I will do everything in my power to get you two little "hackers" what you deserve. Please look at this wonderful little quote:
Yung Hove says:
wow
Yung Hove says:
i didnt say that hell hack them
gabe_k says:
what?
gabe_k says:
yes you did
Yung Hove says:
i said that hell "Make" them
Previously he told me that foofatron knew how to MAC hack
Yung Hove says:
cuz in 2 hours. "Foofatron will make them"
Yung Hove says:
my friend Foof
gabe_k says:
it'll never be public
Yung Hove says:
knows how to hack MAC addresses
Yung Hove says:
well
gabe_k says:
oooo
gabe_k says:
foof
Yung Hove says:
when Foof gets on
Yung Hove says:
it will
I won't take this crap anymore, I don't care if you say your sorry, I've seen the hacking community, I hate it. I do not plan on releasing any D/P data I believe it would be good for most of the community to journey into the land of hex and try to do it. I don't want to be a part of a community that can't do anything but talk crap to the people who devote the most time to this. I you need to have your friend steal my data for you, then your in no position to be making threats.

And.. That Yung Hove didn't even know what he was talking about..
Hacking a MAC Adress, wow.. There are even tools that spoof/change the MAC Adress of my PSP :P
So gabe_k, he isn't able to hack a Macintosh system.. just a Media Access Control address.
Which won't do anything to any of your tools/computer.. :s
gabe_k
June 7th, 2008, 08:07 AM
Most people don't respect D/P hacking because they are too stupid to realize that it's possible without tools. As I said, if people are going to first deny my ability to hack Diamond and Pearl because there are no tools, and then threaten to steal my programs, I don't want to work for that community. I also want to say something which I know people will hate, JUST BECAUSE YOU MAKE A HACK, DOESN'T MAKE YOU A HACKER! Having won hack of the week doesn't make up for real skill, and using tools isn't hacking.
Well.. Then I'll release a Wild Pokémon Editor.. Just wait till my exams are over (2 weeks!).

The only reason people don't respect d/p hacking is the "no good tools yet".
Everyone at PokeSpam works hard and some people just brush it away cuz it hasn't got a freakin "fancy map editor" or a script editor.

With a real-life job and moderating this forum, and other family issues, I have to time to Hex Edit. This is why I need a tool. I do respect all the tool makers, honestly. They work so hard to make hacknig easier and more convenient for us, which is why I myself prefer tools over Hex Editing. I have so much going on in my life that using a quick and easy tool is the best possible thing for me.
I've been using tools for Emerald recently because it's faster and I have saved a massive amount of time. I'm not trying to be a pain gabe, I am just trying to say that while Hex Editing is possible, everyone may not understand it, even with a tutorial, or they simply don't have time to do it. Like I said, I fully respect you and tools, but you are going about this the wrong way by flaming those who actually use tools. At least to me that's how it looks. lmao first of all wtf are "real hackers" doing on a pokemon Modifying site and second if they were real hackers then they wouldnt be making public threats espicellly not over tools and btw (Hacking = unauthorized use, or attempts to circumvent or bypass the security mechanisms of an information system or network.) so all u guys are doing is modifying pokemon because all ur doing is changing a few bytes i think lol

chances are that fofatron is just som script kiddie who worships the power of trojans lmfao xD

yo gabe do u have msn if u have can u add me and also if he is attacking ur wireless hes probably doing a ddos attack (denial of service = Sends loads of packets to your connection causing your internet to die for those who dont know)
all u need is a ips firewall :) (intrusion prevention system xD)

Well, after speaking with gabe, he says I can release my wild encounter editor.
It still has some bugs opening the files. Like if you cancel the opening of a file, it will still be able to Load and Save but it will crash.
It requires .NET Framework 2.0...
Get it here:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/x3a1l6
Attachment is added too.
I wanted to know how you deal with the time system?

When I open the rom in it, no route selection works, it just stays still while i fill in the blanks.
If this is because of net framework v2, sorry for wastin yer time.

It's pretty stupid you need to push that button anyway..

Yes i did press load.
I't was like it was before a rom was loaded on the choosing place part.
Didn't see that.
Do you think once the market editor comes out, there'll be a DP 493?

I'll get Gamefreakfatty to send me the encounter editor, and I'll iron over some of the bugs. Sorry about that folks, we kind of rushed that LOL!
To answer your question, shinygoldash, if it was a problem with you not being able to use .NET 2.0 programs you wouldn't be able to open it at all.

...We're not releasing a mart editor... and what do you mean a "DP 493"?

We will be eventually, right, Gabe? Perhaps not publicly due to recent circumstances, but yeah...
Yeah, I kind of wondered what he meant by that too. XD

He means a hack where you can catch all 493 Pokemon (nothing else changed) before the Elite 4, I think it's kinda silly.

Ya, I probably should have mentioned that I don't have all the offsets...

Ya, I figured it would be a kind of "failsafe" but it's my first time using .NET, so I couldn't figure out how to check if a ROM was opened...

their is a patch that does that it comes in a form of an exe and what it does is patch your rom to allow u to catch all 493 pokes im guessing it is a patch since all a patch does is modify bytes

Meh, DP map thing will be made by someone when the offsets are understood, found e.t.c.

I've said this before, I have released the offsets, people just don't seem to be able to find stuff without a tutorial.

I think HEX is a challenge for all hackers.
ALL hackers know hex... I think people is kind of forgetting hex just is a math counting system...
But if you have a challenge in hex, then you are not a hacker...

Or you are new in hacking and hex seems hard as where you find everything.

That's a bit far isn't it. Mapping in hex is just far too time consuming when you can just use Advancemap. Even Coolboyman who is a huge user of hex uses Gold-Map. With mapping in hex, you can make so many mistakes and not notice them until you actually test out the rom. And once you've found the problem, you need to go back to the rom and find where you screwed up and then fix it and test again.
gabe_k, why don't you just get this thread back onto pokespam's tools and just ignore stupid posts.

Technically you are right, but if we didn't have AdvanceMap hacking would take an extremely long time.
So its acceptable o3o
