I think I know where this style came rom D: Try doing this. When you put text, make the drop down menu next to it say SMOOTH instead of what it is.

now, notice the shading at the perimeter of the letters. Makes it look more smooth and web 2.0 ish and not pixelish like all your banners. That could help. :
