I can, although I'm not entirely done my swimming lessons. I quit halfway through because I had wicked asthma and couldn't hold my breath underwater. :/

It is a complete bummer your unable to swim. ;(
Because swimming is awesome! I, of course, know how to swim. I'm quite great at it actually... everyone tells me to try out for lifeguard, but I don't want that kinda of responsibility XD
So yes, I swim just fine. ;D Though I know some people that can't. =/

Sure can!
Not to brag, but I can do the length of a standard sized pool in less then a minute. (but I'm out of practice, sadly.

I don't swim underwater without holding my nose anymore because for some reason I at some point lost my ability to do so without getting a little water in my nose, which really bothers me. I guess I'll say I could swim to save my life if I needed to, and I can swim above water fine.

I swim underwater pretty well, and I can at least keep my head above water, so... a little bit, I guess?

No. Not at all. Deep water scares me, since I cannot control what I'm doing, and I cannot feel the ground.

Yep. I can swim fine. Not fast or anything, but I can go into a pool without drowning or anything. XD

Yeah, I can swim perfectly fine both on top of and underwater. I took lessons when I was younger, but just playing in our pool got me where I am now.

I can swim pretty well. Though my fairly low stamina means I can't really swim for too long, nor can I swim very fast, but I can still swim. Ah, I feel like going swimming now :\

I can swim, since my family used to toss me into the pool since I was a wee toddler. And I also took a few lessons at school. I can't do any fancy strokes while swimming, but there's a less of a chance that I could drown because I don't know how to swim.
I just really don't like swimming, since I only swim in pools, and I hate being contained in the pool. I do enjoy swimming in the ocean, however.

Yes I can swim. I learnt to swim before I was five and was a member of my local swimming club. It took me like forever to learn how to dive, I just couldn't get it together but one day it just came and I was able to do it. I only did competitions up to 50 metres, 100 metres just seemed way too long. But I did eventually get the sticker saying I had done 1500 metres that was nice. Also did some competitions for the region, but I wasn't that good and at my local club I was always swimming against someone that was better than me, but that was ok you got to use it. I also liked backstroke and breastroke and could never get into Butterfly. I did like medley events too.
I believe swimming to be very important and I do not understand why some parents do not teach their kids to swim. They don't need to be great at it, but all children really should learn to have a basic swimming ability. Because, you never know what could happen. And do you want to be pushed off a boat and not be able to save yourself? I also believe people need to at least learn how the sea works because theres a big difference between swimming at the pool and swimming in the sea.

I can sort of swim; I guess I'll say I can swim enough to have fun in a pool. I've never taken proper lessons, and I probably look really weird when I do it, but I can to some extent. I have to plug my nose and close my eyes, though. XD;;

i used to be scared of water. the thing is i try to swim underwater, and it is the movement of a snail. probably not driving my arms through the water.

Yes! <3 Swimming is one of my favorite things to do actually. I've always loved it, even as a kid. I'm just not supposed to swim because I have a hole in my eardrum and that hurts it >_>;

I can swim well ^^
But unlike most people, after an encounter I don't want to discuss, I refuse to go UNDERwater without either a facemask or holding my nose. TRYING TO SWIM WITH YOUR AIRWAYS UNPROTECTED FTL!

I can swim.. well at least I can float... I can doggy paddle! 8D
I suck at swimming when you have to do something with your head in the water, since apparently I don't use 'breathing techniques' under water like blowing bubbles and stuff. D:
Although I'm good at backstroke and the frog kick (whatever it is called) as long as it's something to do with swimming on my back. Pretty fast in backstroke, but you can't get onto a higher level in swimming unless you master all the techniques.

April 9th, 2008, 04:38 AM
Yeah, I learned to swim at a very early age because my grandparents had a pool at their old house. I almost drowned in it once, but... that didn't really faze me. XD; I've never had a fear of water, which probably isn't smart, but at least I'm an excellent swimmer after all these years?
My brother's probably even better at it than I am, though, since he had to do the 3 mile swim when he was in Boy Scouts. :x Ow.

April 9th, 2008, 04:48 AM
I can swim <3 I took lessons when I was insanely young, in a kiddy pool. And I continued to take them/be in little swim clubs until I was eight or nine, then I stopped :x So I've forgotten like, most of my strokes, but I still know the general gist.
I almost drowned once too :x When I was like... nine, and my brother was thirteen, he decided to jump on my shoulders while we were in a deeper zone. I couldn't take his weight, and got stuck underwater, since he couldn't hear me or anything x.o didn't really phase me though, I'm pretty sure I just got right back in the water XD

Swimming is honestly the best for a hot summer day. <3 I love it. It's kinda like riding a bike, once you get it right you don't really forget it again.

I can swim well but when I got to the higher levels, my hair weighs me down but I don't want to cut it. (Sigh) I guess I'm stuck in the that level and at least I know how to swim.

No, I'm a terrible swimmer. I tend to avoid pools altogether if I can help it, except of course spa pools.
