I only know English… even though I did French as a second language I forgot most of what was learnt.
I am learning Japanese though. Listening to Pimsler's teach yourself Japanese CDs and Pani Poni Dash Vocal Album xD;. Kagami is helping me learn the alphabet so hopefully I'll be able to read soon xD. I can understand a little when people are talking though not fluently to join in. xD

I know enough that I could probably survive in someplace like France, or spain, however I cannot speak the languages, I can just read and interpret. (though Canada is like the best of both languages that I know the best.)

There is a fairly large amount of people in the United States that only speak Spanish, so its kinda necessary in today's society to know some Spanish.
...and sadly...no, its probably the least interesting language I have ever studied...the poetry sounds horrible

Actually, Gofre appears to have typed a sentence in Catalan; the latter half of which states that his first language is English.
Also, the mark that goes above the N is called a tilde, ~.
I only know English to the level of fluency; but I have a knack for languages, hence I could understand Gofre well enough without actually needing any experience of his tongue. No, I didn't use a translator.

English and Spanish fluently, I'm at a conversational level in Portuguese and picking up in Japanese, though that's vocal only, I've still got a long way to go in the written form.

I speak English and Spanish since I was born in the US and since I'm hispanic. [Cuba <3]
However sadly I take French in school, which means I parle [speak] french as well. ^^o
And I know how you feel Anastasia.R, because I used to speak [would it be considered speaking?] sign language when I was a little girl. Now all I know are a bunch of letters of the alphabet and perhaps a few other things. I used to be mute when I was little. ^^o

Spanish and English, which is one of the most common answers, by the way.
And I can understand Catalan, just because I have been hearing it for years during my holidays.

Well, I'm highly relieved that this site isn't full of wapanese kids.
I speak English fluently, German conversationally, and I know some Japanese phrases, words, and I basically have the alphabets memorized.
So much fun.
Learning a second language apparently helps prevent Alzheimer's.

I speak English natively, and I'm finishing up my third year of Spanish. I'm actually becoming quite good with Spanish. Having grown up in East LA, around a LOT of Spanish, I guess it just comes somewhat naturally to me.
I also know a little bit of Greek and French. I really want to learn German, though.

I'm fluent in English, Finnish and Swedish and I've been studying French and German for about 8 months now. I've always been interested in different languages and I'm a fairly fast learner. Memorizing even long lists of words is no hard task for me. (although thankfully, I only have to do that with German and French since Finnish is my first language, my whole education has been in Swedish and English has come to me naturally from watching English cartoons and playing English video games since I was 6.) I absolutely love the English language, but I'm not really fond of Finnish or Swedish. Finnish is icky because of the ridiculously complicated grammar (not that I have any trouble with it, but it's ridiculous nonetheless) and because it's practically impossible to translate anything into Finnish without butchering it. Swedish I dislike simply because I always mix Swedish grammar with English grammar (and the outcome can sometimes be rather hilarious) and because my vocabulary is somewhat lacking. (at least compared to my Finnish and English vocabularies)
I'm not a big fan of French, but that might be because our teacher treats us like 4-year olds. My mediocre pronunciation and the fact that I can't spell some things to save my life are also partly responsible for my (slight) dislike for French. German, however, is awesome. The grammar is fun, (in my humble opinion anyway. =P) the words are often close enough to their Swedish or English counterparts to make them considerably easier to remember than French words and it's very simple to pronounce. I've already decided I'll most likely go on a language course to Germany next year. =D

I speak English, some basic Japanese (and a bit more), then Spanish.
If I had to get by in Japan or Mexico, I'd probably make it a few hours. D: My Japanese is getting better though, so hopefully I can become fluent in it. As for Spanish, I'm going to Mexico in two weeks, so I guess I've gotta test out what little skills I have. XD
