Story

One evening you are quite excited, because today is your 1year anniversary of you and your girlfriend's love ^_^. you make your way to lake verity only to find your girlfriend waiting with a gift for you, a pikachu, you and your girlfriend talk for a while about life and when it's time to go home you make a bold decision. you are going to propose to your girlfriend, so you decide to take the gym challenge to earn enough money for a ring.

About Me

Hi! i'm darkfurby or as others call me chorlion. I have been lurking in these forums for quite a while now and have hacked quite a bit but never posted and then i have given up because of low support.
Now i'm here and i'm posting my new hack which I started only this morning.

Introducing Pokemon Shimmering Pearl

Story

Ok I know it may seem like it from the title but this is NOT a pearl remake (de-make?) it is just a game based in Sinnoh. 10 years before the events of d/p.

You play as Seth, a 20yr old who is one day going to meet his girlfriend at the lake, when he gets there he finds her being attacked by a pokemon luckily she was planning to give him one of her pokemon as a 1yr anniversary of their love so she has some in her bag. And so the journey begins.

hey thanks for the thread structure i am now restarting because of rombase errors... i am however keeping the graphics by ripping them from current base :p i will be hacking non stop for 3 days... if anyone here can script and wants to help me make a script to walk me from twinleaf to sandgem i would be eternally thankful.... i need to eliminate random battles on first trip to sandgem and only way i can thin of is to have a script walk you there

I can't say that your mapping is the best, but hopefully you'll improve.

@on a general note:
i am currently mapping jubilife and no doubt it will be redone by my secondary mapper khan... *cant keep him from adding lakes where there arent supposed to be and such so i'm holding a vote here.... who thinks that i should preserve sinnoh as in games or should it be revamped greatly... i dunno i cant decide... on one hand his maps look nice but on the other they only vaguely resemble sinnoh...... aaaaargh decisions decisions....

looks good, I hope we get to hear more about the story, it sounds like it should be interesting. As for the mapping, the overall structure looks good, I just think you should fill it with more "decorations" like flowers, rocks, trees and stuff.

lawl yeh banners are great.... i am now working on a sister hack for it midnight pearl... which will be added at the end the differences will be slight story tweaks... one the girl is playable... twilight diamond..... and the other the boy (pearl) and basically the order the legendaries are cathable in changes.... but diamond will be released after pearl :p and thanks for teh comments

your mapping seems a little plain, No worries though, I know how mapping sinnoh gets, because sinnoh maps are Huge, they make huge plain area's the key is to add some "scenery" like fences grass bushes.
It's looking good, I'm looking forward to seeing Jublife ;)
Btw, change the grass and greenery pallette ;) it will have a great effect on your hack.

As for the beta... my understanding is that this has been put on hold (judging by TC's last post), but I would also like to see this finished.

yes maxim is right, well sorta.. you see my laptop broke down and still works but turns itself off after about 5minutes for no apparent eason and so i cannot hack however i have rescued the rom image.. so i still can hack with access to another computer.. this is where the complication comes. i can access a computer running linux (my ps3 actually) however unless i can get WINE (a windows emulator) working on it i cannot hack. see my problem now?

Hey darkfurby the random rebooting thingcould be a ram problem I had an old dell and whenever you stuck ram in the second slot I'd have your problem. So try taking random stick of ram out and see if it helps.

i have fixed that prob on my desktop too manytimes.....its broke now but.... i cant believe i didnt think of that. i'll see if they are fried..if so the hack will be in hyprspeed.. lol thanks....... oh and lol at tech support on a pokemon forum

update: ok not a ram problem.. ive figured it out tho.. its a prob with my power cable being worn.. and the battery being either too empty cuz it cant get a charge.... OR the battery is broken too....gah too many probs... stupid toshiba.... stupid sattelite pro 4600..... stupid broken desktop.

update2: tried another configuration of my ram sticks... and it works... need to replace power lead soon anyway so i'll still do that...but can anyone figure out why my battery is now charging but it wasnt before when the ram was broke?

what the deuce: ok turns out it just stayed on for longer than usual..this is hurting my brain.....i hate this laptop and i will now get a new one...maybe

Hey, is there any way that I could be a beta tester of this hack when the beta is out? I would really love to test this hack. I am kind of new to the forums, but I would take being a beta tester seriously(plus it'd be really fun too lol). If you already have enough testers, then that's okay too. ok peeps back with another update, the hack was restarted as the old rom screwed up.. i decided to base it on the much more stable fire red, all members that want to help, katlee you can script do you have msn? if so send me it via pm and i will add you for easier communication, hayashixtenshi, i will pm you details of ow sprites you can make, be patient lol.. the beta tester requests have been thought about and you can test when i am done with jubilife

ok people of pokecommunity, i am currently learning how to hack diamond and pearl so the hack will be suspended for about 2 weeks or more.. whenever i get my motivation back it will be continued. blazichu or christos please lock this thread
