I have been into pokemon since it came out, then after i beat silver and gold,
i quit. It just got bored after a while. But when D/P came out, i was at first
not sure if i should get it, but after seeing friends play against eachother
via wifi, i wanted to play so i got it. I mainly only play to compete against others
and dominate ^.^

I got into Pokémon by watching it on Sky One back in 1997 I think. Then the games came out over here and I've been playing adamantly every since. Although I do have occasional long breaks.

Been playing around 10 years now.

I started loving Pokemon when I was eight years old... I'm glad I never really stopped liking it. ^^
I never got addicted to the games until SIlver and Gold though, I couldn't get my hands on Red&Blue because it was so popular then and all the games were always sold out.

Back when Red and Blue had first come out, I remembered seeing the commercials where the guy is trying to get all the Pokémon into the bus, wondering what I was watching...

Then one of the kids down the street got Red version, and I played it for a bit, got addicted, then.. well.. I stole it from him a few days after because I was so addicted.

Funny, I got into Pokémon by stealing it.

That was a few weeks after it had first come out.

I got silver 3 days before street date, impressed all of my friends with it... Red was awesome, it's what got me addicted, but Silver was definitely my favorite game.

I've been into Pokemon since I was about 8, I used to ALWAYS watch the anime, but never got any of the games, due to not having a Game Boy. :( I quit for a while, but I've been REALLY into the games over the past 2/3 years after finding a Emerald ROM off some website I cant remember. Now, I also have Diamond, Ruby and MD Red. :)

I've been into Pokemon for a long long time, since it came out I think, I was a little kid back then. xD

I remember being all hyper when the series got announced, It was good at first but... well now it just sucks. However, I think I will die before I stop liking Pokemon, it's just a great game.

Played red and blue on the GBC, didn't really have anyone to trade with and only had one GBC so after beating everything I could beat I kinda lost interest. About a month ago I thought "Hey, I need a new game for my GBA" and bought emerald....then collosseum and fire red....then I bought a DS and diamond so i'll probly end up getting BR here shortly if I can find a good deal on it.

I've been into pokemon since I got a brand-new Yellow and my lime green gameboy color for my eighth birthday. I then got both Red and Blue for Christmas that year, I got the 2nd generation games for birthdays and christmases too. I took a bit of a break after that though, I didn't have a GBA. But wouldn't you know when the DS came out I was able to buy one on the school bus with Sapphire in it! After playing through that a few times I started longing for the old games, blue was my favorite, and by golly, the same kid who sold me my Sapphire just happened to have a LeafGreen he didn't want, 10 bucks later, it was mine. This was about a month before D/P came out, so I was still pretty into LG when they came out. Then all my friends got D/P on it's release day and I was left with LG. Now I couldn't let that happen, so I gave a buddy who worked at Target $160 bucks and said "Get me a DS Lite and Diamond, and keep the change",(it turned out to be like $0.60). I beat Diamond in the next few days and have pretty much been trying to breed new teams, and get all my Sapphire and LG pokemon over ever since.

That's such a tough question because it was so long ago... I think I was 4 years old, so 12 years ago, I even remember picking out my very first Pikachu doll that age... it would cry "Pika-chu! Pika-chu! Pika-chu!" when you pressed it's belly, funny though, because I still have it today and it still makes the same little Pika noises as it did before. I promised to keep and cherish it forever. Promise kept. =)

Wow, really have to think back for this one...

The first time I heard about Pokemon was in kindergarten. I don't think the games were even out, then. I remember my friends would all be like, "Devon, Devon! You have to see this show! It's so WICKED!"
Don't even say you didn't use the word "wicked" when you were young ;3

Anyway, I used to get mad, because I didn't have a TV back then. I'd sit in my room, litteraly thinking how good this so called "Pokemon" must be.

Then, one fateful day, I just happened to be flicking through the channels at my grandmothers, when I hear, " ♪ I wan't to be, the very best, that noone ever was...♫ ". I knew right away what it was. How? Well, you see, apparently all little kiddies go through a phase where all they want to do is sing the theme song to their favourite show. So after about four months of enduring this, I pretty knew the Pokemon theme song by heart, even though I'd never actually seen the show.

Anyway, back tothe point.
There I was, sitting on my grandmas couch in awe, watching little creatures dance around on TV, with lighting bolts coming out of their faces and leaves coming out of their backs.

Three words; I WAS HOOKED.
From then on, every day I'd run to my grandmothers house just to watch Pokemon, until finally my family got a TV. Then I was in heaven.

And you can't even imagine how overjoyed I was when the first game, Pokemon Red, came out. I got a Gameboy Pocket, and a copy of Pokemon Red for Christmas. I was the first kid in my school to have the game.
:\ It certainly did get stolen a few times...

But anyway, that was back when I was in kindergarten; 1998. Now I'm in grade nine, so I'd say I've been into Pokemon for about ten years now.

Omigawd, I just wrote a novel :<

I've been into Pokemon ever since I could remember, seriously. I bought my GameBoy Color with Yellow. Ever since, I loved the games. I played until I beat Emerald (I beat R & S & E like 10 times). Then I stopped for a few years then when D/P came out, I started playing again. So like I guess 7 years since I'm 12.

When I was six or seven, I was at my friend's house, and he showed me the first episode of pokemon. I enjoyed watching the show, but never got into the games until I was eight. For Christmas in that year, I received the Pokemon TCG. I loved that game.

Then, for my ninth birthday, I received Pokemon Yellow, which got me started on loving the main series of RPGs.

In short, pokemon altogether: ~9 years, pokemon games: ~7 years, pokemon main RPGs: ~6 years.

Well, it all started for me when a bunch of my friends were playing Gold and Silver. I had a GBA at the time, and went to blockbuster to see hat it was all about. I rented Gold, and was hoked. I bought a gold version later on. I was one of the last people in my school to get Ruby, but a friend of mine and me played it obsessively. but then it died out. I still got FR/LG, and Emerald tho.

I got diamond the day it came out and I was hooked once again.

Since the anime first came out in around 1998 or 99. (My first episode was "The Ghost of Maiden's Peak," during the series' first run through dubbed. That should give you an idea of the exact date.)

So, I'd say around nine or ten years. And I blame my addiction on the cheesy humor. I mean, the entire battle against the talking Gastly? I still think that's the best battle that ever took place in the anime (but that's just me).

That is one of my favourite Pokemon episodes, and that's one of the reasons why.

But anyway, I first heard about Pokemon when someone came into my fifth-grade class and talked about violence, then TV shows that provoke it in kids. The first show he mentioned was Pokemon, which most of the class knew about but not me. Days later, a student in my class brought in some Pokemon stuff for show-and-tell, one of which was a Pikachu plushie. Days later, I saw some kids sharing Pokemon cards, one of which was a Ponyta card. (So Ponyta was the second Pokemon I knew about--how odd.) Things continued in this fashion--I just learned about different kinds of Pokemon. I was drawn in by the idea of cute little monsters, probably (besides, I had already gotten into the Kirby video games, and if they don't have cute little monsters, nothing does).

After fifth grade ended, I watched the TV show for the first time--the first episode I ever saw was the third episode, "Ash catches a Pokemon". From then on, I watched the show every day, eager to know about all the different kinds of Pokemon. I made it a small goal to know about every Pokemon in existence; I did this through watching the show and the Pokerap that followed. (I still remember how the Pokerap went to this day.)
*Bonus: I admit to having first learned about psychic powers by watching the episode "Abra and the Psychic Showdown". Before then, I didn't know what the word "psychic" even meant.

Shortly after that, I became interested in collecting Pokemon cards. The first four cards I ever had were Abra, Ponyta, Starmie, and a psychic energy. I became very interested in collecting these cards, but over the years, I found nobody to play with. I abandoned collection of these cards shortly after Ruby/Sapphire came out.

About a year after I became interested in Pokemon, two things happened. One, after seeing the first Pokemon movie, I created my first Fakemon, a penguin Pokemon named Peppy. (ARRRGH, Game Freak stole my idea when they created Piplup years later!) Two, for my twelfth birthday, I got Pokemon Yellow (I already had a gameboy), and fell in love with it. Although I got stuck in three places: trying to beat Brock, trying to get into Saffron City, and trying to beat the Elite Four. I ended up with a wonderful team with Hypno as my best Pokemon, and Butterfree, Dewgong, Dodrio, Seadra, and Pikachu were also on it. Unfortunately, my nephew deleted my game by attempting to use a Game Shark on it...

Years later, I continued to watch the anime, but by the fourth or fifth season I began to lose interest. Admittedly I did regain interest slightly by the sixth season or so (and nearly fell in love with Harley), but after that... well let's say I never ever saw a Pokemon episode with a Sinnoh Pokemon in it (besides Munchlax and Bonsly and Mime Jr. and Lucario, who appeared before Ash's arrival in Sinnoh).

But my interest in the games has never ceased. I have owned every mainstream video game except Red and Blue and Fire Red, and still play Emerald and Diamond and occasionally Pearl, while on rare occasions visiting my old Crystal game. I created loads more fakemon and even had a well-thought-out-but-never-written Pokemon fanfic to go with it.

Although I see that I'm in danger of stopping playing the video games (I'm teetering on whether or not I should get Platinum when it comes out), although I have stopped watching the anime and collecting the cards, and although my Pokemon fanfic is no longer Pokemon, my interest in Pokemon is currently fueled by my participation in four Pokemon RPG's, and my interest in the concept of cute little monsters with magical powers, kept inside little round compartments.

Ever since Pokemon debuted on TV in Australia (I believe it was the same time as America, 1998) I have been hooked. The first Pokemon game I ever got was Pokemon Red and I nearly fainted when I got it. I have bought every game since then (even the crap ones like Trozei and PBR). Pokemon has been a big influence on my life.

I got into it when the anime first hit US shores in September 1998, saw the first episode on UPN and got Blue version when it came out, never looked back since. I'm happy because since I'm an '88 baby (EARTH DRAGONS, **** YEAH!) I was 10 years old at the time, and knowing that this kid in this show is 10, too, always stuck with me. So if Ash had aged as we did (at least, in the strict American continuity) then him and I'd be the same age.

I was introduced to Pokémon by a cousin when I was eight and I have been hooked on it since. I think that my first anime was Sailor Moon, but my mom is certain that I loved Pokémon before I loved Sailor Moon, so I think it's safe to assume that it was my first anime since she remembers all of my childhood obsessions. I guess that's one reason I was bound to come back to it - ten years is a really long time to be into a fandom!

In Russia only first 108 series were shown on TV in 2000. I realized, i cant live without pokemon. My friend from childhood, now living in German. With him we played TCG whole summer. All days from Sunrise to Sunset. I luv this game. Then i stopped eatching it, cause only one pokemon channel was banned. I downloaded all 10 seasons in the beginning of 2008. NOSTALGIE! Now i am complitely pokefan again. I wish only tgere is more TCG players. Cause in St.-Peterburg, Russia there aren`t a lot of `em now. And it`s little bit difficult to buy cards.
