Here it is.
Advantages:
Supports Verson 1.0 of USA ruby, sapphire, fire red, leaf green, and emerald.
Loads all sprites from the ROM no external files, understands the trainers better, music actually saves.
This is the last ever release of PET.
if for some reason you can't run it the rom, use no$gba that's my fix.
I decided to do this, because people that rely on editors were basically stating my first application was trash, so I took that to heart and fixed what I could find wrong, and made improvements.

Given that I've relied on this app for rijonAdventures for a long time (longer than most people have caught onto), I'm glad you've got a stable release.
...actually, I'll judge how stable it is when I get a chance to upgrade it.

Just for the note, the sprites look a bit maligned. And sprites don't seem to pick themselves correctly with Sapphire.

Good catch, I had sapphires data the same place as ruby's just had to a quick change there, I made the picture boxes bigger for that misalignment issue.
Thanks if you can delete the first one in the thread that'd be cool
With the old pet, I had some types wrong
Like trainers have their own, then gym leaders have their own type and elite four also have their own types.
and I wasn't reading enough attacks so they'd always be off

HAHA, WOW- I have fallen in love..
[with the prograsm o,0.]
it works perfectly.
This makes hacking Emerald a cinch now!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, seriously.
Trainer edit was pretty ghey. erm... me not... liked it =]
LAWLZ... Ok sorry, too much talking.
But uh, it should have some sort of search system- Like, 'This trainer is on this route'
:P
But I'm sure that'd be too much of a hassle, this is great.
Again, thank you.

Couldn't have a search system, what you're asking for is defined by scripts.
I mainly decided to do some work on it because I typed my name in google one day and all this stuff about PET sucking came up, PET is like my first child, so that angered me and fueled me to relearn how it worked and work it on.
If you're wondering what i've been up to since I left the Pokemon scene
http://youtube.com/user/ZeroFission the Metroid related videos.
Edit: XD I totally forgot PET could make scripts.

Hmm....unlike the picture displayed at the top of the thread, the Pokemon' moves aren't displayed. This goes for both versions of PET posted in this thread.
I'm using an 100% verified Pokemon Sapphire ROM. Is there something I'm missing (I'm sort of an intellectual degenerate so it's totally possible)?

WTF! interdpth! 'Back' on PC.. How nice ^^
Man, those good old days, It's been 4 years since you left the Pokémon scene? Maybe longer.
Oh whatever ^^
Got PET to crash on FireRed, loading that last BULBA???? trainer :P
Some sprites still aren't displayed like they should. (Part of them is shifted 1 pixel down..)
Anyway, everything else looks stable and nice :)

I truly love this tool :D
I used Trainer Edit before, these annoying spaces after the name which are displayed ingame are really sh**.

Thx for this tool..!

While they directly didn't say it sucked it can easily be inferred.
I will not change the interface to anyother language,
how ever if you want it to support different roms
then I need these offsets and the rom type.
trainer graphic table offset
trainer palette table offset
pokemon graphic table offset
pokemon palette table offset
ItemNames
AttackNameList
TrainerClasses
MonsterNames
TrainerData
if you can provide me with those offsets I will put them into PET so it can support more Pokemon ROMs

Yay, another version of PET. I have one gripe, however; it seems that you cannot edit a Pokemon's attacks if the Trainer is set to a Leader/E4 Class Character and you have changed the Class Name. Any insight into this?

I just changed a trainer to an elite four member, I was able to edit the attacks and save it. Same with Gym Leader.

interdpth
May 14th, 2008, 07:27 PM
For the ones that can't get the hint.
Trainers have no moves.
Leaders have moves.
Elite Four has moves.
I think the rival does too but if any one can confirm if they do or don't i'll fix it and when I do i'll have it so the attacks get set to zero before going to a new trainer so no confusion.

May 14th, 2008, 07:59 PM
What I was asking was if you rename a class (say Leader to ORG. XIII) then should you be unable to edit the attacks of that Class's Pokemon for all trainers of that class? I ask as I cannot edit my Leader's (i.e ORG. XIII) trainer's Pokemon's moves; I have to use the Oct. 2004 version to do so, and I'm thinking it may have to do with my renaming of their class.
And you can't edit the Rival's Pokemon, or the Champion Class, either.

when i set what pokemon i want for a certain trainer and save it, all the pokemon change to two before or after what i have chosen.
Actually, everyone goes to a set of specific ones.
Like Roxanne, I tried changing her pokemon to and Onyx, Geodude, and Graveler.
But her first [no matter WHAT pokemon I give her] is ALWAYS Gengar, then the second is [YAY] Geodude, but then thhe las is a Keckleon. [sp]
I say nhey so far to PET =[
I was really excited too for this version.
Big let down for me.

Now then, due to a lack of more then overwhelming bad feedback, and the lack of wanting to further this project I release two final file.
Pet.exe
and source.zip which is the source of PET if anyone wants to carry it on.
All PET.exe is missing is different langauges
support for rival class
and support or PKMN Trainer class
It has automatic repointing, properly transfers pokemon. Edits pokemon AI level(How hard a pokemon will be).
If any of my code is used, I expect credit this is my farewell to the pokemon community.
If any D/P hackers see this, please send me a message on AIM I have a very helpful tool for you, and other serious GBA/DS hacker.
And now back to my regular projects. Bye.

I am still getting these errors especially with Flannery. I am trying to change the sprite of Magcargo, but it wont let me use the arrows and when I try to change what Pokemon she should have, the runtime error occures. I don't know if it's her, Magcargo, or what.
Also, do I have to dump the sprites before hand in order to use them? The trainer sprites come up fine it's just the Pokemon sprites I am trying to change. As soon as I give Roxanne an Onix and click "Save Trainer Data" the sprite changes to Gengar. I don't know if it occures in game, but I already beat her so I don't know if it saved.

The problem is that the manual setting of attacks (as opposed to automatic setting on level) doesn't depend on the trainer class, there must be something somewhere that tells which trainers can choose attacks and which can't.
For example, some bikers in fire red have manual attacks, and others don't.

Yes. I'm looking forward a new version with Trainer Database expanded (to 356, so it can open ALL Emerald Trainers) and working with ALL language versions of R/S/E/FR/LG.
When is it expected to come out?
I prefer PET over Trainer Edit because PET doesn't need those freakin' .ocx files, which don't work under Vista.

The glitch with the Trainer Data happens with me too. When I try to give "Mabel" a Ponyta, I click "Save Trainer Data", and BAM! I GET A GOLEM!
AND I ALREADY TOLD YOU THE ISSUE WITH ATTACKS! Just when I scroll to another Pokemon to give it new moves, when I come back, BAM! The moves return to normal.
And before you bombard me with the fact that I didn't save my works, I did! AND IT STILL HAPPENED!

Emerald was giving me problems when I was trying to run it, probably just need a different dump.
Have fun.
Emerald is an unstable game. People that try to hack it usually have to save often or risk losing all their work.

Hey i dont know if this has been posted before but i found a bug of sorts. It doesnt effect the gameplay, but it affects the way the pokemon are displayed in PET. This was used on an Emerald ROM. I dont know if R/S or FR/LG have this too, i just am using emerald.
lets say i am editing Roxanne, well i will give her a, Seel, Psyduck, and a Golduck. Everytime i pick my pokemon and its attacks, i click next pokemon, everything is fine.
After i edit all my pokemon, i will click save trainer data, and the seel picture turns to a Dodrio, and the Psyduck turns to meowth and the Golduck turns to a Persian.
But when i play the game and battle Roxanne, she has the Seel, Psyduck and Golduck. But i will open PET again and it shows that she has the Dodrio and such. But the ingame pokemon are as i specified.
The only problem is just the way PET displays the pokemon, this was like this in previous versions of PET, i just didnt report it because i thought it would be taken care of in the next version. I DN'd the newest today in its still is the same.
Remember this occured on an Emerald ROM...and if i didnt explain that clearly i will try to explain it better.

hey there
I just want to tell u some "bugs" or "errors" which a member of the german community Romhackers world reported to me.
It's when opening a german firered rom.
http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/2346/unbenanntpo0.png
I never had such a problem since I'm using english roms, so I don't know if it's a real problem or if he could just change the values ô.O
Anyway, I thought I better post it here.

I don't think people are being clear on this. Where's the download link for PET's revenge?
Everytime someone asks for a link they're pointed to a link for the older version of PET.

Well, This sucks. For me, it is horrible. All pokemon have the same moves. That really sucks. I thougt you fixed all the bugs of old PET XD! Well, I hope you can fix this, as that is the only editor that works on my computer! BOL!
Bad Jesse! Listen to the inderdepthz. Kthx.
lol I haven't tried it, but I've heard good things about the functionality of this PET release. The only problem is your UI, TBH, dude. Your user interfaces, as is the case with most Pokemon hacking programs as far as I've seen, are fairly messy...? I can't say mine are that amazing, but yours are like, just sitting there.. Buttons and boxes randomly placed haphazardly around the UI >.<. They're like, freakin' me out, with my OCD-ness-ness. It also makes the tool harder to work. :P

Okay, this program is incredibly buggy. It switches around the trainers' Pokemon, changes their attacks, etc, after I've saved it. Does anyone know of a trainer editing program that works? Because this one and Trainer Editor aren't worth downloading. They both do exactly the same thing.

This program seems to be simply broken. upon loading the rom, it shows for example roxanne as having a geodude, tentacruel, and claydol. pokemon and moves inputed are shuffled around apparently at random when saving.
Ah i get it now. Upon saving the pokemon you were working on shifts left 1-so if you want machop, save as a machoke. Annoying but atleast it works!

Question: Can you actually create new trainer battles instead of replacing/editing old ones?
