I. Introduction
Have you ever wanted to play a Pokémon game that encompasses everything you love about Pokémon and the Pokémon universe? What if there was such a game? And it was being made right now!?
Pokémon Hall of Fame is the brainchild of several Pokémon fans with only one goal in mind: to create the ultimate Pokémon gaming experience. The project will follow the story of Ash, the protagonist from Kanto, Pallet town to follow his dream of becoming the champion and Pokemon master. Ash will begin his journey in Kanto, where he will have to college badges, battle against trainers, evil organizations and eventually reach Indigo Conference. The tour of Orange Islands starts after he wins the champ of Kanto League and explore an unknown region to the south of Kanto. Pokemon HOF will include elements from existing Video games, Anime and Manga, but also with its own features.
This game is made with RPG Maker XP and Pokémon Essentials.

II. Story
For simplicity, the story will be separated into several chapters.
Chapter 1: Gotta Catch 'em All! [Completed]
You will follow Ash Ketchum's quest to become the world's greatest Pokémon master in its early days. You will be introduced to the fundamentals of Pokémon game playing and the many features of Pokémon Hall of Fame. Many adventures and rivals await you in your first quest, which leads to the Pokémon league. You will complete this chapter by competing in the annual Kanto Regional Championships of the International Pokémon League, held once a year in the Indigo Plateau.
Chapter 2: Citrus Paradise [Work in Progress]
After being awarded the honors of being Kanto Regional Champion, Ash Ketchum journeys out to seek the Elite Four of Kanto, with whom he desires a challenge. However, he is forced to deal with a minor setback in the Viridian Forest before he is able to get his hands on a ticket to the S.A. Monica, a cruise ship that travels from Kanto to the Orange Archipelago. What new adventures await Ash in this tropical paradise? You have to play to find out! ;)
Chapter 3: The Ultimate Clone [Coming Soon]
After defeating the Elite Four and rescuing the legendary birds from the hands of a dangerous collector, Ash is called on to deal with a powerful force which has no equals!

Ash Ketchum: The protagonist of the game, he is a young boy from Pallet Town aspiring to be the world's greatest Pokémon master.

Gary Oak: The grandson of Prof. Oak and Ash's long-time rival, he will soon be following his grandfather's footsteps in becoming a notable Pokémon researcher.

Olga Blue: Olga is a mysterious girl from Pallet Town who steals one of Prof. Oak's Pokémon and goes on an adventure of her own. Although she is a real menace, Olga is a quite gifted trainer and helps Ash on numerous occasions.

Ritchie: A young trainer who resembles Ash in many aspects. He's more like a friend to Ash rather than rivals, even though their Pokemon battle with each other fiercely.

IV. Features
-All the known regions in the Pokémon universe including Kanto, Orange Archipelago, Sevii Islands, Johto, Fiore, Hoenn, Orre, Almia, Holon, and Sinnoh!
-Day/night system and the weather system!
-All Pokémon catchable in-game, but they're harder to find and take longer to evolve
-Newly modified national dex with existing Pokemon and derived Pokemon added to make a total of around 500 Pokémon
-Combination of features from various games, including some of our own
-Pokémon League matches are actual tournaments instead of just fights with the Elite Four. The elite four will be challenged in a different way and only for once.
-Because the Orange Islands are not included in any game, you will see our creativity shine
-Pokémon and things have been adjusted to account for balance issues, and to make things more realistic
-New pokemon types and attacks for the new types
-Battle animations for most of the moves included in Gen III games.
-There are more things to do in each map
-The NPC's have personalities and interact with you, the main character
-You will enjoy talking to people and reading signposts

Although we are thankful for all the help we have received, we still need a whole lot more help for all the things we're trying to do. That's why, if you have ANYTHING at all to contribute, we would love to have it from you. Also, if you see anything in our game that you like, let us know and we can negotiate a trade.
Here is a list of available jobs. Keep in mind that some of these jobs are unique to our game.
Anime Watcher (2-3 positions open): Our game includes a lot of stuff from the Anime, so we need someone to watch the episodes and help plan things out for us (like stories with the side characters, rough sketches of geographical points of interest, some rough maps of overworlds).
Movie Watcher (1-2 positions open): Basically the same as before, but focusing on movies and special episodes like The Return of Mewtwo and Legend of the Thunder.
Manga Reader (2-3 positions open): Our game includes a lot of stuff from the Manga, so we need a Manga reader to help us plan. You have to have read as much of the Pokémon Manga as possible and be able to tell us about just about anything that happens in it. MANGA EXPERTS ONLY.
Spriter (unlimited positions open): We need pixel artists to do everything from trainers to Pokémon to fakemon and more!
Mapper (unlimited positions open): We always need improvement on our maps.
Music Composer (unlimited positions open): We need someone with good knowledge of working with MIDI to either write original music or edit the music that we will provide to you. The style of music will be that of D/P/P.
Tile Artist (unlimited positions open): We need people to make tiles. You have to be good, though.
Interior Designer (2-3 positions open): We need someone to design the insides of buildings. Right now we're using R/S/E interiors and they don't look very good. We hope to change this.
Scripter (3-4 positions open): We need people who can do custom scripts in RGSS/Ruby.
Editor (1-2 positions open): We need someone to go through our old maps and fix any language issues like spelling and grammar. You also have to add a lot more dialogue and make Trainer Tip signposts more helpful. A sense of humor is necessary for this job.
Geographer (2-3 positions open): Various aspects of the Pokémon world are based on the real world, and we need people who can do research in this area. For example, Johto is based on the Kansai region of Japan, so while we're doing the Johto region we need someone to provide us various aspects of Kansai culture, landscape, etc. that we can base things in the game on. XI. Known Bugs
This is a partial list, so please tell us if there are any more. Also, please let us know if you know how to fix these bugs.
-For the time being, the breeding center does not work. We have disabled it and will not enable it again until we can find out how to make it work.
-There are not enough sprites for either the male or female character, but we suggest you play with the male character because he has more sprites than she does.
-The character will automatically gain a bicycle on Cycling Road, whether or not he actually has one.
-In some interior maps you can enter the black space
-The fishing event works like in R/S/E, but the character acts really weird
-There are a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes, which are slowly being fixed.
-The reflection of the protagonist in the water is slightly off
-The Pokémon sprites are distorted, off-center, and out-of-proportion in most cases.
-Do not play the game in perspective view because that will mess up the priorities of the maps.
-There are errors with the mapping of Pallet Town
-The Spearow in the house in Viridian doesn't have enough sprites
-There are too many weather changes
-NPC's walk over the ledges
-The protagonist jumps too high off the ledges
-Losing the first battle with Olga will make you teleport to a place where you can't walk
-The encounter rate in caves is still too high
-You can walk over the top half of the TV sprite
-The bed sprite is walkable
-The protagonist has some transparent parts in the sprites
-The kids in the Viridian Pokémon Center move too fast

XII. FAQ
Don't ask something that is already answered here.
1. Why do you have chapters?
The chapter system is introduced for the reason that it's projected to be a long game that feature both the physical and psychological growth of the protagonist. For instance, the protagonist is stated to be two years older in Chapter 2: Orange Islands than the time he wins the indigo plateau conference. In this way, this game is a little bit similar to the adventure manga and it's possible for you to see a change from the protagonist and his rival's appearance after chapter 2 or 3. If you still don't understand, then just ignore this point since it doesn't affect the game processing at all.

3. When will the final version of the game be released?
Probably never because we plan on continuing this game as long as we can.

7. What do I do to get past the old guy in Viridian City about the private property?
You deliver Oak's Parcel and beat Gary in Route 22.
8. What about the Pikachu sitting outside your house?
You'll see later on in the game.
9. Are you going to increase the level cap with each region? I'd hate to reach max level after the first region or two...
We have plans to fix that, so don't worry about it. We'll deal with it when we have to.
10. When will the next demo be out?
Whenever we have time. Don't ask.
12. Will my old save file work with a new release?
It should, but sometimes it doesn't. We're not sure why.
13. Why do you call this game "Hall of Fame?"
The reason why I call this game Pokemon HoF is that it will witness the growth of the protagonist from simply a small kid to the Pokemon master as the protagonist explore different regions to realize the dream. It could be called Pokemon Legend as well but this name has been used by multiple fan games and I personally prefer the name "HoF" to the name "Legend."
14. How do I catch the starters?
They will be available in the future, each as a separate event. Don't expect that to happen anytime soon.
15. How do I do trade evolutions?
You don't. All of those Pokemon evolve in other ways.
16. I have a Caterpie at lv. 9. Why won't it evolve?
All Pokemon evolve much later. We figured that if you really want to complete your Pokedex, you wouldn't mind a little bit more work.
17. Can I be a beta tester?
No.
18. I'm running Windows Vista and it won't work.

19. I'm running OSX and I want to play your game.

20. Where will I find the legendary Pokemon?
They will all be part of some special events. You will find out in the not too distant future.
21. Are any bits from movies going to be included in this game?
Yes.
22. May I use your custom resources?
Yes, but email us first letting us know what you're using and how you're using it.
23. Why are the Orange Islands separated into five regional maps instead of one?
If you draw the regions to scale, the Orange Archipelago is bigger than Kanto and Johto put together. That and a bigger region means more stuff to do for you.
24. Does this game crash in the middle like Pokemon Raptor?
I have no idea what you're talking about and no, it shouldn't.
25. How much did you change the Pokemon data?
Read \PBS\pokemon.txt and see for yourself.
26. Where can I find a Torchic in Kanto?
Torchic is not native to the Kanto region. Are you sure you don't want to find a Finneon instead? We have that.
27. Where do I find Olga after she takes my badges?
Go through Diglett Cave.
28. The encounter rate in __________ is too high.
Use Repels. That's what they're there for.
29. Escape Rope works in some places and not in others.
This is not a bug.

It looks pretty cool but I still don't understand the whole chapter thing. Please explain that. Also, is it just me or do the screenshots look blury? Um... I can't open .rar so I can't the game but good luck!

Looking quite good, but still nees some work. It looks unfinished. And I suggest getting someone to make trainer sprites for you instead of resizing images.
Oh, and for your 'The player can use HMs even without badges and POKEMON.' error, does that happen when you play the game normally too? Because you're supposed to be able to use HMs if you testplay the game.

I see. I just played the game using the "playtest" option from RPG Maker. However, I just don't know how to get the fishing rod event to work and the starter kit producer seems to care the least about this issue. I'd appreciate it very much if anyone of you could help me solve this problem. Besides, as you said above, I do need both trainer sprites and charset to make it work better.

Looks good anyway but the trainer sprite. They look blur and they are not in pixel form.

I do need help with the graphical thing. After all, I'm not a good artist at all and I just grabbed all the resources I could find on internet, which is still far not enough. Do you know someone that can help with the character sprite and trainer sprite? Thanks.

Well, it's fine if you consider it to be a hack at first. As I stated above, the chapter 1 is almost a re-make of the original game with merely slight differences. My mission is to make the journey of Generation I to continue after the protagonist win the indigo champion and therefore, I didn't make this thread even when the entire chapter 1 is completed. Instead, the chapter 2 is a brand new one and I'm supposed to add the element from the anime to the game(hopefully someone would help me with the graphical thing).

I'd truly appreciate it very much if you could help with the graphical thing (the character sprites, trainer sprites and possibly tilesets). It would be great if you can make a titlescreen as well. Can't wait to form a team for this project!
Besides, I'm currently working on the island called Mandarin Island North, where two team rocket members stole the POKEMON from the islanders. The protagonist will attempt to discover their hide-out and defeat these two rocket grunt so that the POKEMON will be brought back to their owners. I'll give more screenshots once this is done.

I've already successfully made the Mandarin Island North with a Corporation called Lightning Co., where two former Team Rocket Grunts (Butch and Cassidy) are settling at the basement of that building and disturbed the islanders by constantly stealing their dear POKEMON, selling for cash or something else. Hello, everyone. I'm back with the project again! During these days I've successfully made the map and script of Sunburst island. The screenshot of Sunburst Island is already added and here's the new screenshot of the crystal onix event:

I created a Crystal Cave where the protagonist will find a mystic Crystal in the end. The wild crystal Onix will appear near the Sunburst Lake and the protagonist will battle against this wild Onix to prove the existence of crystal Pokemon. However, the Onix is still an ordinary Pokemon and the only chance is to make it a shiny Onix... I'm sorry that I'm unable to create a real crystal Pokemon in the game...
Besides, three new types are introduced as Mystic, Undead and Holy.
The Mystic type fits the Pokemon like Clefairy and Togepi who have mysterious Power in the game(I add this type to make them different from the other normal type Pokemon). The Mystic type has no advantages over any other types, but it also doesn't have a weakness.
The Undead type fits fossil Pokemon and some special Pokemon like Cubone. Almost all the physical attacks are not so effective against Undead type, with the exception of Ghost type. The Undead type is super effective against Normal, Fighting and Poison but weak against Ghost, Fire, Dark and Holy type.
The Holy type fits Pokemon of Mew, Celebi, Deoxys and Arceus. Almost all the special attacks are not so effective against Holy type, with the exception of Dark type. The Holy type's only weak against Dark type attack but is also super effective against Ghost, Undead and Dark type. attack. Therefore, the Holy type doesn't have weakness and is regarded as the ultimate Pokemon type.
Besides, several new moves are created as well, with Holy Ray, Angle's arrow, Holy, Ultima Beam, God's Power for Holy Type; Bone Throw and Bone Slash for Undead Type; Mystic Power, Magic Circle for Mystic Type; Dark and Black Hole for Dark Type; Stone Edge for Rock Type, Gunk Shot for Poison Type and Shadow Force for Ghost Type. Some of the moves are also modified in the moves.txt. You can find out these significant difference in the next release.

Well, I don't know why my game is so big and I'd appreciate it very much if anyone of you could give me advices on how to reduce the size of it, thanks.
After downloading your game I understand why it is so large. I think you should:
->Remove the unnecessary maps in the game (the Intro map IS needed)
->Remove the Screen Shots folder
->Remove the Word Document (1 MB in itself :p)
->Remove the Server items (if not needed)
->Remove the Town Map Generator
Next, in the game menu, under File, press "Compress Game Data". This will compress the game :p. Also the file you have up now allows for anyone to take your game and change it for their own use. When you choose to compress the game, if you select the box on the lower left it will also create an encrypted archive of the game. This will make it so no one can take your work and make it their own.
Removing these things I compressed the file down to: 51.4 MB.
As much work as you have done to the game itself it will be a fairly large file because of all of the data in the game.
I've found a bug too. If you lose the battle to Gary in the beginning it not only takes you to your house, when you walk out you can walk by the Prof. Oak (I think thats who it is). Also if you reenter the lab you have to fight Gary again, then the game freezes. I don't know if these are fixed but thats what I have so far.
Edit: BTW PokéCommunity Staff. I understand not being able to post links before having 15 posts, but you may look into fixing it to where it does not give this when you are quoting others. :p Anyway the links broken up due to this small problem.

Latest Update:
The Pinkan Island is already created and I also made the map of the deserted island with KABUTO's fossils as well. I did choose some Pokemon with Pink/Purple color to appear on this island while it's still impossible for me to bring all the pink color Pokemon to the game though. This game won't just go up to the Kanto league. The current version has the entire Kanto region and Orange Islands is 25% completed. The next release will come after four of the GYMs in Orange Islands are made and then the map and script of Orange Islands will be half finished. I'll begin working on the map and script of Johto once the entire Orange Islands region is done but it won't happen recently.
For the trainer sprite in the screen shot, it does look blury in the Version 1.0. I'll fix this issue in the next release and hopefully there won't be this kind of issue anymore. Have a good day!

Just wondering, what program are you resizing the sprites with? In the resize window, if you can, select "Nearest Neighbor" or similar, instead of what you're using now. It will make it much sharper than the ones in your screens.
And I see you are implementing some D/P moves (Stone Edge, Gunk Shot and Shadow Force). Will they have their D/P effects? If so, I'd advise testing Shadow Force before releasing it. It might not work in the way it's supposed to.

The program I used to resize the pics is Paint.net and this is the only choice for me since some other programs like ACD See doesn't allow transparent resizing (The trainer sprite will have a black or white backcolor after resizing and this is even worse). I do wish to make the trainer sprite better and I'd appreciate it very much if anyone can help.
As you said above, I did add three D/P moves for testing together with some new moves for the new types I created. Besides, I'm still expecting Poccil to add D/P moves in the next version of his starterkit and if he won't, I will do it myself though it may not be possible to include some specific effects.

I'm also having problems saving. I get these error messages when I get a key item saying the SE file not found keyitems and when I save my game it says that the game is saved but when i exit the game and go back in the file isn't there anymore

You need to do these three things first in order to get past the old man. First, send the oak's parcel back to Prof. Oak and obtain the Pokedex. Second, grab the Townmap from Daisy. And then you have to battle against Gary on Route22. After all these are done, you can walk beside the old man and the teachy TV event begins before you're permitted to advance to Route2 and Viridian Forest.
The Pikachu you said above is another event that happens only after you won the Indigo Conference. You'll advance to the viridian forest and find a younger girl called JAMY being attacked by a Dratini. After you defeat the Dratini, you'll take this girl to Pallet Town where she's supposed to hand a ferry ticket to you so that the journey of Orange Islands will begin. The Pikachu will be taken away by her after this event.
For the saving error and SE file error, well, I don't really know what's wrong with it since there's no this kinds of errors in my game and the others who played this game didn't ever claim the errors before. You may need to redownload the entire file if those errors keep happening.

Hi, guys!
I've already updated the Pokemon Hall Of Fame Version again and here's the list of major changes:
1. The graphics are made much better and most of the trainer sprites aren't blury any more. You can check the newest screenshot of the Trainer Battle (against a Gentleman) to see this update.
2. The bug of the pallet town has been solved (Previously, the game will be unable to process if the protagonist lose to Rival Gary in his first Battle after receiving the Starter Pokemon). I'm trying to get the Trading event work as well and hopefully I'll get it done in the next release.
3. The maps of Pinkan Island, Deserted (Kabuto Fossil) Island, Kinnow Island and Navel Island are already made. The protagonist will battle against Danny to obtain the third Badge in Orange Islands region. See this screenshot below if you want to know more about the game process:

Well, it's not likely for you to reach the max level in the first, second and even the third region unless you own only one/two Pokemon or repeatedly battle in places like Indigo Conference. The issue might come in the later regions and I will try to change the level cap at that moment. So don't worry, it won't be a major problem for my game. Have a good day, hope you enjoy the game.

If you don't wish to start the game from Kanto, it's fine to just continue the game I saved previously. The Protagonist Ash has three Pokemon Charizard, Blastoise and Venesaur, all at level 45 in the beginning to start the journey at Valencia Island. (Initially, you have to complete the missions in Kanto and win the Indigo Plateau Conference to reach Orange Islands)
Update list:
1. Added maps and scripts of Mandarin Island North, Lightning Co., Sunburst Island, Crystal Cave, Pinkan Island, Kabuto Fossil Cave, Kinnow Island, Showboat, two Deserted Island, Navel Island, Moro Island, Phantom Ship and the newly made Golden Island.
2. Changed the name input system from the original User-Type screen (Type directly from keyboard) to the Typical Pokemon Game screen (Select words or numbers from the box).
3. Replaced those once-blury trainer sprite by new trainer sprite with the same quality as you see in the original Pokemon Video Game.
4. The battle against Gary in Oak's lab has been changed so that now users are enabled to lose the first battle against the rival.
5. Added new types Mystic, Undead and Holy and modified some Pokemon Moves.
6. The trade events are now available in this game and users can trade Pokemon with some specific game NPCs. (It's still not able to trade Pokemon on-line with other users)
7. Dig and escape rope can be used in Caves and Mounts like Mount. Moon and Rock Tunnel already. It's still unable to use in some specific places like Rocket hideout and Power Plant though.

After a series of comparisons with the other games I realized that I can't make this game all alone. I'm fine making the maps and scripts but I suck at making graphics. I do understand your words, but I don't know how to make this game better if I still get no helps from the others. I can do all the scripting work all alone but the sprites and animations are too much for me. Consequently, I just can't make better graphics by myself and I'm still counting on Poccil to add all the Moves animations to the newest starterkit so that we can use it directly instead of making all the pokemon moves animations by myself. Like I stated before, the visual effect is the main reason to prevent people from supporting and playing my game and now I just get no answer for this issue...
darkcookie_93 is right, this game has lots of potential. You just need to fix up the game a little bit, and it will be great. It's already better then any official pokemon game in my opinion.

Do you have your RTP installed properly? Games made by RPG Makers might not be able to play if you don't have RTP or have it damaged.

No, I'm not done. As of two hours ago I beat Erika and got the Poke Flute. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to access Saffron City. Shouldn't it be open by now?
Even though I was freaking out at how expensive the bicycle is, I can see why you did it that way; it'll make me appreciate the bicycle a lot more when I do have enough money to buy it. Looks like that could take a while...
I could do maps of all the regions. I never tried to program Fly with Pokemon Essentials, but I could work on all the region maps. Even if you don't plan on including them, I'll put Sevii and New Island in the maps because they're between Kanto and Orange and it makes more sense geographically to at least have them there.

Well, in this game you need to defeat Koga to earn the fifth badge before receiving the TEA from an old granny in Celadon Mansion. In this way you can access to the Saffron City(I made it that way considering Sabrina is a slightly tougher trainer than Koga).
Besides, I'd appreciate it very much if you can help with modifying my game, such as editing the regional map. You may modify the townmapgen.html to carry it out. If you want to edit the scripts, then download the .rar file I uploaded. I'm sure this would work.

Are you using Firefox? If so, please follow the steps below:
1 Click Tools > Options
2 Click Anvanced tab then click network tab
3 Click settings under network tab
4 Click Manual Proxy Configuration
and fill it up with these:
on http proxy, type : 165.228.131.10
on port, type : 3128
5 Click the check box on "Use this proxy server for all protocols"
and click ok

Pleased don't stop this game or close the thread, I read your 1st post and I started downloading before I read anyone else's post, this game is amazing, it has a lot of constant upgrades so far and you are active here which is good and not many threads have that attention :)
This game looks really good I'm still downloading at the moment(having download issues recently) but what do I need to make it work and could you show/tell me where to get it from if possible, can't wait to start playing :)

Well, it seems that people have trouble downloading this game or starting this game. I checked this rapidshare link which didn't work well a couple of days ago but now it can be used again, try it if your trouble comes from downloading process:

Besides, I also heard someone claiming that they're unable to play the game properly. What I told them to do is to check whether they have installed RTP or have it damaged. RTP is fairly important to play games made by RPG Makers so you should check it before playing the game.

1. The nighttime might be a little bit dark in the screenshots since I tested this game in mid-night. The brightness of daytime and nighttime will change throughout the day and you can notice the difference between morning, noon, afternoon, dawn and midnight.
2. I simply can't make sprites on my own so I'm still seeking for help. Trainer sprites like Cissy's are fine in this game but the character sprites aren't, since they look the same as the other NPC or ordinary trainers. I have to get spriters in order to improve the game visual effect.
3. I started the poll since there're some girls claiming the lack of female characters to play in this game. I'm still not sure whether it's necessary to do it and there's no way to carry out a project like this if I don't have spriters.
4. The reason why I call this game Pokemon HOF is that it will witness the growth of the protagonist from simply a small kid to the Pokemon master as the protagonist explore different regions to realize the dream. It could be called Pokemon Legend as well but this name has been used by multiple fan games and I personally prefer the name "HOF" to the name "Legend".

Ok, 1st problem I had was I clicked on the game and it opened and gave me an error sound and closed itself, I downloaded that RTP and installed and tried it and got the same, I re-downloaded HOF and it still happens, any ideas ?

It's fine. It was me who made a mistake first. You shouldn't care so much about whether people reply in your thread and actually you already did a much better job than I. You started the game thread in Mid-June and now you have 40 replies already. I did get 34 after a month but my own posts made up half of those replies. Remember the most important reason why you make this game is to entertain yourself, not to make the other people satisfied.
Btw, you said you don't get someone to help you out but don't you have a spriter already as is stated in your game thread? Inmoosewetrust is a co-mapper and co-scripter for this game project but I may still need some spriter. On the other hand, I'll sometimes post in your game thread to give you as much support as I can. Hope you can hold on and not to give it up if you can't get enough help.

I don't know about RMXP but in sphere I can set up the player to use his own key arrangements just by using the sphere config tool.

Hey you like the filestrip style screenshots I made? Well, I simply used paint and resized the picture with Acdsee/Paint.net. I learned this from the other game makers and it's really convenient to do so. It also enables you to edit the picture easily.

The size was 320 * 240 for each pic so the entire picture should be something like 320x * 480(the reason why I use x here is that the height is not constant but ought to be a multiple of 320). It doesn't matter how large or small it is since the picture will be auto-resized after I upload it onto Photobucket.
Btw, I do like the new trees appeared in your game. This does improve the visual effect in your game(you're a much better artist than I am for sure). But remember, the surroundings should fit the new trees you implemented so you might have to get the D/P style tileset to make it look better. Anyway, your game is already looking pretty good graphically, not like in my game(the graphic sucks indeed in HOF:P).
Have a good time, dude. Keep working on your project and there'll be more people seeing the potential of your game and join your team.

He claimed that if I credit him in my game thread then he'll send the other D/P battle graphics(like the battle in cave or ocean) to me when he has them finished. Update: The Murcott Island has been made in my game and it has a safari-zone just like Fuchsia City(the name is called Satsuma Wildlife Refuge in this game and almost all kinds of Bug Pokemon can be caught in there). See the screenshot in the front page to see the newly made Murcott Island and the appearance of Satsuma. So far it reminds me of Fire Red, I've only just beaten Gary 2nd time, I have found the game to be quite slow on performance, my Pc is a 2.08ghz which is quite fast and I only had Avg running, any advice or tips to get it running little faster ?

Well, you must have a high CPU usage if the game is slow to play. Try turn off some of the softwares/processes or simply restart your computer and then you should have this problem settled.
Btw, the game will be pretty much similar to Pokemon FR/LG until you beat the last Gym Leader in Kanto and participate in Indigo Conference. If you want to skip the Kanto chapter and play the Orange Islands, you may need to redownload the game file and choose to continue playing the game I saved. In that case, you'll start the journey in Valencia Island with three Pokemon at Level 45(Charizard, Blastoise and Venesuar).
As you may have noticed, this game is an extention version of Pokemon FR/LG since the journey will continue with Orange Islands and Johto when you become the champ in Kanto. If you're interested in this game, please include one of the two supporter banners in your signature so I will know you're a fan of Pokemon HOF. Have a good day!

The newly made townmap will be released in the next version. I can give you the file now and you need to replace the townmap.txt and add the kantomap.png into the graphic/picture folder.

It's not possible to get all 3 starters for now but maybe I'll try to make on-line trade possible so you can obtain those starters in this way.

That's the truth indeed. I can't get any clues and inspirations from any completed games featuring the Orange Islands so I must spend more time and energy to figure out how to make this region.

Hall of Famer, every other post doesn't have to be from you. I'll do some of the updates. We're a team so let me do some of the work.
Anyway, I'm redesigning all 493 Pokemon among other things and I guarantee that you'll like my changes. I'm fixing a lot of balance issues and now you'll have every reason to train ALL of your Pokemon. It was Karen of the Elite Four in GSC that said that truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites. In the anime Ash always says that you can train any weak Pokemon to be extremely powerful. I'm a firm believer of that, so you'll see that reflected in this game.

That's good, I love training my Pidgey into a Pidgeot but it was just to weak compared to some other options, also how are the ones that need to trade to evolve going to evolve ?
To be honest I hate trading to evolve something but I always use Abra and it never seems to go further than a Kadabra as I have trade :(

Not on my watch. You don't need to trade anything to evolve Pokemon in this game.
All Pokemon also evolve much later than they would normally do, so you have to do a good bit of training before you enjoy the fruits of your labor.
If you like training Pidgey, you'll love its new moveset. It's like I said, I'll make any Pokemon worth training. Remember how much Sandshrew and Sanslash sucked? Not anymore!

The Dratini thing is debatable, so we're not sure. We'll redesign all of Kanto after we're done the Orange Islands so anything's possible. That won't happen in the next beta so don't worry about it.
We're still not sure how much stuff will be in Beta 1.2. We're debating whether or not to have the large Mandarin Island included and the same goes for the D/P graphics. Expect the next beta in a few weeks.
Hopefully my redesigned Pokemon will be in this next beta also. We might have to rebalance the game later to match the Pokemon.

It seems that you don't have RTP installed on your computer. Try search RTP for RPG Maker XP on Google and download the latest RTP file you'll be fine.

Well, you're right. I might need a specific sprite for Olga for this game but the sprites for orange islands characters(like Cissy and Danny) are more important for my game currently. Pokemon OI claimed that he'll share the character and trainer sprites with me while I'm not sure when he's gonna get those graphics though. Btw, I appreciate your comments on this game very much. I appreciate your interest in this fan game very much. I do understand that the pokemon level will be an issue for this game but I'll try to fix this after the Orange Islands part is finished. Don't worry, it won't be a serious problem in the future Pokemon HOF versions.

Hello, everyone. I'm glad to tell you that I've successfully gotten all those D/P moves to work, though some of the move effects(like lower the foe's defense or something) don't function well enough. yeah i know what all shiny pokemon look like lucky for me because there were no stars flying of it to let me know it was shiny but after i caught it its number was gold like all shinies so i know its real

Thank you for your kind feedback and I appreciate your interested in this project very much. We'll try to fix all the glitches in the future release so I hope you won't be bothered by something like this next time.
The Olga storyline is an element from Pokemon Manga, as I claimed that this game will feature factors from Pokemon Video games, animes and manga stories. I'll implement the yellow(from pokemon adventure) storyline by the time when Orange Islands maps are completed. So check it out and you'll find another surprise.
I do notice that there's a serious issue with the level thing. I'll discuss about this with Inmoosewetrust and hopefully this issue will be fixed in the future release.
Btw, the Version 1.2 should be out within this week with upgraded visual effects, pokemon and their battle attacks(pokemon moves) and a few newly added maps from Southeast Orange Islands etc. Please check it out during the releasing date and I hope you enjoy playing Pokemon HOF game. Update time!
The storyline has been extended to a deserted island called Chinotto Island (named by Inmoosewetrust). There's a battle tent on the small island, where you're enabled to battle with trainers owning pokemon from Generation I~IV. The Murcott island with a safari zone is completed as well and both of the two newly added islands will appear in version 1.2.

With the help of Venom12, the D/P style battle scene is almost completed. The screenshots below shows the background of Stadium, Land, Grass, Cave, Deep Water, Sand and Still Water:

I just downloaded the file (It took 30 mins.) and have one suggestion. I think you should compress the game file so people can't steal the custom dp graphics. Just take down the link until you've compressed the file.

Thank you for this idea. The main reason why I compressed the data is to reduce the size of this game(it's something like 69 MB before the compression). I'll follow your advice when I release the next Pokemon HOF.

When I play the game, At the start it comes up with.. DP Fonts is not installed and yeah..
And then when I get to the menu, I press Continue and go down the stairs and it comes up with an error code saying...

Maybe it's because you failed to extract the file properly or have a bad RTP installed. You may check the new link to see how things work out(it also fix the master ball bug in this download):

If you don't have a good RTP intalled, it's suggested that you browse the RPG Maker XP official website and download the RTP file without charge. This is the advice I can give to you and hope it helps.

Firstly, don't leave. Idiots give ratings of 1, and you know it's an idiot because the person didn't stay and explain maturely what he found wrong with the game. They're just pranking you to try and lower your overall rating, people with no life do that and it's not a big deal. It doesn't mean that they hate the game, in fact they probably didn't even look at the thread and just clicked on a whim.

I'm stuck at Mandarin Island (North). I've beaten Tracey and Cissy and now I have no idea what to do! You need a special key thing to open the door in the Lightning co. building. I explored all the other islands (and I mean all of them!) but everywhere seems to be a dead-end: you can't get into the Sunburst cave, the Fossil cave, the Phantom ship, or anywhere really. Even the next gym leader doesn't seem to be in. Also, I talked to the Snorlax on the Grapefruit island and it vanished... are we supposed to chase it, like in the anime? Because I can't find it anymore xD And the Ruby girl didn't say anything about it having left, so...
Sorry if this is really stupid, but I am pathetically lost! Perhaps if you could put a website up or have the in-game people tell you the next island to go to.

Well, the lightning key is inside the Lightning co. building for sure so don't try exploring other islands. You may have to find a secret switch for a teleport point that would transfer you into a locked room, where you will beat the weird scientist to obtain the Lightning key. For as far as I can tell you, the secret switch is on the 3rd floor as well so this makes it easier for you to discover it. Those are the advices I can give to you and please tell me if you still have trouble figuring out what to do with the lightning Co. event. I'll probably write a walkthrough after the entire Orange Islands region is made. Have a good time!

The main reason why I'm considering transferring my work onto another website is that I need to seek helps from someone who knows how to help with the graphic issues(There's still no one working as the spriter or animation editor for my game project). I'm still not sure what to do now(I may need to find another website as good as Pokecommunity before locking this thread though) but Inmoosewetrust will keep updating the game processes here so don't worry.

Erm, in thanks I'd like to report a bug! :D At the Satsuma, if you exit before you used up your steps/Safari balls, then the guy asks you if you're done. If you say "no", you go back in through the door... into a place where there's just your character on a black background, and you're stuck and can't move! If you restart the game it's fine, and if you say "yes" to the guy's question you're fine too. It's only if you re-enter the Satsuma that it goes all funny. This might apply to the Fuschia Safari too, I haven't tried.
Also some of the graphics are a bit funny, I noticed in particular Pidgeot's back sprite is about 2 pixels up from where it should be and Pidgey's (front) one is way too far up xD But I don't really catch many Pokemon so I haven't noticed any others :)
Finally, could I just ask, what types are the Undead Pokemon weak to? Because the female rival's Aerodactyl gives me a haard time :'( lol

Well I didn't request Inmoosewetrust to keep updating the thread if I leave, it was him who claimed that he wouldn't leave Pokecommunity and would try to keep this project alive in this forum though.
For the graphic issue, I do need three things badly --- The D/P bag screens, D/P window skins and D/P summary skin. It would be good if I can implement the D/P battle system as well, but it's not just about the graphics. I may have to edit the scripts to fulfill this update and I wonder if I'm capable of doing this. It seems that you have some custom D/P graphics? Please send them to me if you have and I'd like to do anything in return.]

Good to see you accomplished the Lightning Co. event and get the game going again! For the glitch within the Safari zone, there's a possibility that it's from the game system or the starterkit, but I'll try my best to fix this bug in future releases. I also noticed that the D/P Pidgey sprites don't fit well with the current game battling system so I may have to get a new sprite for some specific Pokemon. Btw, I already fixed the glitch for the Mandarin North Pokemart event, I'm very sorry for this...
As you may wonder, the Undead type is supereffective against Bio types(Normal, Fighting, Flying, Bug) and Poison type, but weak to Fire, Ghost, Dark and Holy types. Almost all the Physical attacks are not so effective against Undead type except for Ghost attacks. Therefore, Undead is actually a fairly strong type but it also has many weaknesses. If you're having trouble beating that Aerodactyl, try using Ghost type and Dark type moves and you'll find its weakness.

Please help!
Another minor bug is that on Kinnow Island, when you open the map/try to fly, for some reason the map is one of Kanto and not of the Orange Islands, which means you need to fly to Valencia and then to whatever Orange Island you want. Not major, but I suppose you'd like to know about things like this?
That's all I think, thanks a lot for the tip on Aerodactyl, since my Blastoise is now part rock-type he gets knocked about by Earthquake *wince* So does that mean that fire-type attacks are now normal effectiveness on Aero?
Also, I think that since Ninetales is part psychic-type, it should be able to learn Psychic *hinthint* :) Just a suggestion, since it's my fave Pokemon, but having a second STAB would be useful! xD

i'd give your game 7/10 because of 1 reason and 1 only the maps/layouts some of them arent done right for example in the second floor of your house you have shaded tiles all over wich doesnt look right and a few other errors like that. i see no problem with game play and i love the story kinda like mine... but that game has to look good just as much as being fun!!!! so keep up the good work and always check your work
and this is important!!! next time you provide a download you might not wanna Keep the project file and the TEXT files in the download folder you dont need these to be there for people to play this is just 4 your eyes unless you dont mind people mooching off your hard work which i know you should... Bottomline dont let people see/steal your work, dont leave, and keep this game updated!!! :D

I'm sorry to learn that you're stuck in the game again. Did you battle with a Crystal Onix after obtaining the Crystal? Did you explore the Fossil Cave on a Deserted Island? Did you accomplish the Showboat Event? You may have to finish those things first before reaching Danny(though you needn't have to become his friend in order to challenge him) and the Phantom Ship. Please inform me if you still have questions or ideas.
For the small glitch you point out, well, it's actually not a bug though. The reason why you can't fly between those East Orange Islands is that the regional map isn't completed yet. Inmoosewetrust is currently working on this project so we'll release a patch when we have it finished. I'm sure you won't be bothered by this in future releases.
As you may have noticed. We've been trying to make it a more balanced game but would require more skills and tactics to play. Several pokemon's details have been completely changed due to this fact. For instance, Aerodactyl is Undead/Dragon type Pokemon in this game so it's considerably strong(and you're right, fire type attack cast normal damage on Aerodactyl). Besides, I do realize that we need to modify some pokemon moves after the modification and Inmoosewetrust already did that for Generation I pokemon. Ninetale therefore should be able to learn Psychic moves but you may have to raise it to higher level(like level 60 or something). Don't worry, your Ninetale will become stronger once it's leveled up!

Yeah, the reason I pointed the map thing out is that if I recall correctly, you can fly using the Orange Islands map from every island except Kinnow, even Golden Island which I think is farther east than Kinnow?
Okay, the type things are good to know. The reason I said that was that I tried to teach Psychic the TM to Ninetales and it didn't work! lol But I'm glad it'll be able to learn psychic-type moves, I was worried that since it's a stone-evolution Pokemon it wouldn't learn any new moves (hence me trying the TM!).

Ditto to what Hall Of Famer said.
The Pokemon modifications are still a work in progress. I'm testing out a lot of the modifications in my runthrough right now. All Pokemon level up and learn moves much later than the original, but you'll learn to like the change. No non-legendary Pokemon learns any moves after Lv. 70. You can just read the pokemon.txt in the PBS folder if you're not sure about something.

Yeah, the Orange map is temporary. For the next Beta I will have either one or two additional maps so the Orange Islands won't look so messed up. For map locations please refer to THIS MAP (http://pokemonro.tripod.com/wallpaperepokemon/orange.jpg)
All stone evolutions will be able to learn all of the moves that the pre-evolutions learn, so you don't have to wait before using a stone anymore.
The TM list is a work in progress along with regional dexes, regional maps, and a few other things. They're all done by me and I don't have much time so they will take a while. Expect to see the TM's fixed either in Beta 1.3 or 1.5. I have to make some changes to my new TM list and then create items, reprogram events, and do some other things. In the future all TM's will be available, but they will all be extremely expensive and scattered throughout the Pokemon world in different department stores. I will also have TM's that teach exotic moves like Aeroblast and Aura Sphere.

1. Before the release of Version 2.0, the three legendary birds will appear in Victory road/Power plant/Seaform island respectively like the original pokemon R/B/Y game series. Lugia, however, is unable to be caught in current Pokemon HOF.
2. After the release of Version 2.0, the three legendary birds won't show up in these three areas before you accomplish the Shamouti Island(to free those three birds from an evil pokemon collector, as is shown in Pokemon movie). Lugia will appear on Shamouti Island as well but it's unable to be captured. You may still wait for the release of future Pokemon HOF in order to capture a Lugia on Whirl Island(probably in version 2.5 or even later).
Remember, we're trying to make all Pokemon catchable but those Legendary Pokemon are only available for once. So please take your chance when you face them. Those are the tips I can give to you, have a good time!

The Shamouti Island event is from the movie indeed and I'm gonna implement the New Island event as well when the Orange Islands region is completed. The New Island will be made in this game at the north side of Orange Islands featuring a powerful Mewtwo. The storyline will be almost the same with the movie(Mewtwo strikes back) and Mewtwo is actually created by Blaine(as it was in Manga series). I'm not sure whether Mew will be included in this event though but it's certain that you're unable to capture both Mewtwo and Mew on New Island. You will, however, be able to face a catchable Mewtwo(which is projected to be the same Mewtwo as it appear in New Island) again in Cerulean cave once this New Island event is completed. I currently don't have any other plans for sidequests from pokemon movies but it's possible for me to implement more sidequests like this.

Due to the fact that Mandarin Island is much bigger than any others, we decided to make it a unique region(which means that it will have its own regional map). Well, "Dark" is a powerful Dark-type move(a special attack) in this game. It has a base power of 95 with 100% accuracy and may lower the foe's special defense. It's a damage dealing move that can be learned only when specific Dark-type Pokemon are raised to higher level(above 60). I added some fakemoves like "Dark", "Blackhole" ('cause there's currently no Dark type moves with a base power more than 80 in Pokemon video game series) and some new moves for the three new Pokemon types I created. I wish to make this game more balanced and playable by doing this. Also, it's encouraged in this game that players use tactics to win in battle rather than rely completely on powerful Pokemon.

You don't seem to have RTP installed on your computer. Try search RTP for RPG Maker XP on Google and download the latest RTP file you'll be fine.

Thank you for saying this. Well, I did read your PM days ago. I can answer your questions in fan game making but it might not be possible for me to teach you how to use starterkit detailedly. You'll have to learn this process by reading Note.html or check the rmxp.org/forum to learn how to use RGSS.
Btw, I'm okay to share most of the pictures I have. However, some D/P graphics are made by other fan game makers so you'll have to get their permissions in order to use those graphics. For instance, you'll not be permitted to use ShinyLugia or Venom12's battle graphics unless you have their permission. For the tilesets I have, download the Pokemon HOF Version 1.1 and you'll be able to find them in the picture folder. Have a good day!

Dude, you should totally have it that during the mewtwo island events, Mewtwo clones your party like in the movie, and they're all stronger than your pokemon(Of course, you'd have to fight them and win). And actually, the other trainers who get to the island also have THEIR pokemon cloned, so this could easily lead to a very epic event!( You could follow the movie further, and have mewtwo capture everyone's pokemon.) :)

Nice idea, dude. I think there's a way to clone the party's Pokemon so this is fairly realistic and expectable. I'll try to make this event similar to the anime series but it will still have its own features. Have a good time!

Well, I'm supposed to implement all the Islands appeared in the Orange Archipelago region so there'll be more islands to be made. For instance, I'm going to do Trovita Island with the fifth Pokemon GYM of Orange Islands after the Mandarin Island is completed. I know; that's just a prototype that I made. The actual one will have buildings more spaced out and the lab will be on the corner away from the houses. I will also combine this tilesheet with the standard overworld one from FR/LG so it will have dirt roads and everything.

Well, I'm sorry to tell you that this is not an on-line game that you can play alongside with your friend. We will probably enable on-line trade and battle features in future releases. Still, you will be accompanied by a partner who will battle together with you during trainer battles at some specific point of the game though, but this feature is still not added to the current Pokemon HOF version 1.2 due to the lack of Trainerback sprite. I appreciate your interest in this fan game very much, and have a good time playing Pokemon HOF!

I didnt mess with anything and its not holding an everstone. I was playing and i havent had a squirtle for a while so i thought it evolved at lvl 16. It hit lvl 16 and im like ok maybe 18. Then it hit lvl 18 and learned Bite but then nothing happened.
Need help here!!!

Well Squirtle does evolve at level 20 in this game. We edited the Pokemon data to make this game more balanced and playable. The moves a Pokemon can learn are also modified so now Pokemon can learn D/P moves and most Pokemon won't stop learning moves until Level 70-75(The more powerful the move is, the later you'll be able to learn it). It might somehow make the game more difficult to play but I wish you'd love this update.

Well Squirtle does evolve at level 20 in this game. We edited the Pokemon data to make this game more balanced and playable. The moves a Pokemon can learn are also modified so now Pokemon can learn D/P moves and most Pokemon won't stop learning moves until Level 70-75(The more powerful the move is, the later you'll be able to learn it). I'm sorry it's not possible for you to capture a Pokemon that doesn't belong to Generation I video game series. The only way for you to obtain a Torchic is to wait till this game reaches Hoenn, which might not be possible in recent future.

Good question. Is there any rooms or dungeons you haven't explored yet? For instance, Route 11, the East part of Route 2 and that Diglett's cave? You'll have to find Olga in one of the places I mentioned above and beat her to get your badges back(otherwise you won't be able to challenge the Pokemon GYM in both Vermilion and Celadon).

Thanks it turned out i didnt go all the way through diglett's cave in order to find olga. So yeah now im at the dark tunnel or whatever its called. Im also trying to find a growlithe but i cant. Its a shame. :(

Growlithe isn't in Rock Tunnel. It's in Cinnabar Mansion.
And by the way, I changed the Pokemon data. I'll change it again in the next release and make it even harder to evolve your Pokemon.

why dont you change the amount of exp. it takes to lv your pokemon up?
