You mean in the anime? I believe they do have genders, for example, Pikachu is a male and if I'm correct, Aipom is a female. I think its how the pokemon act that can help determine its gender.

whoa whoa whoa.
Too far, but seriously - they have genders, but they aren't going to put a giant willy on a children's character.

No need to grow up,
Simply explaining to a fellow forum member why it is not allowed on the TV, or games.
No need for a post like this.

(I don't know about LOYAL though...)

ROFL!

Aha, that was a good laugh. But really, there's no need to criticize, Amp. This is a completely legit discussion; do Pokemon actually have male and/or* female reproductive organs? I say yes, running on the fact that if two Pokemon of opposite genders (and matching egg types) are left in the daycare long enough, they produce an egg. Now, I don't suppose it works the same way humans reproduce, but there definitely has to be something going on "down there" for one Pokemon to fertilize another Pokemon and produce the egg.

In fact, maybe it isn't "down there" at all. A Pokemon's reproductive cycle may merely consist of shedding skin/fur onto another Pokemon, for all we know.

I do think Nintendo came up with a pretty lame excuse regarding this topic, though.
"We don't know how it got there, but your Pokemon had an egg!"
If given a little bit of time, I'm sure Nintendo could have easily come up with a much better solution on how Pokemon reproduce.

To sum it all up, I think there definitely must be sexual differences between male and female Pokemon, but it might not be as simple as their reproductive organs. Remember; all it takes to reproduce is for a sperm cell to fertilize an egg cell and fuse nuclei*2 with each other. So there may not be any sexual intercourse involved!

But that's just what I think xD *shot'd*

* = I put "and/or" because some Pokemon may have both organs (Uknown's for example.)

*2 = Not sure if I used the right word there... I hope I did.
