Oh, we're are incredibly friendly here! No need to worry about that.
(Though, I can truthfully only speak of myself. I suppose there could be some nasty members out there. :o)

So, you're going to be a rom-hacker around here, eh?
Well, you have picked a pretty good forum to do so. I've heard from many people that PC has one of the nicest rom-hacking areas around.
(Not to mention one of the largest. ;D)

However, you should probably make sure that your hack complies with all the rules over in the Rom-Hacking section. Threads about projects over there are on a moderator approval system, so if it doesn't comply with the rules... it will never see the light of day. *gasp*

I'm sure you won't have any trouble following the guidelines over there (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=116415).

Mapping is a great skill to have, but do you have experience with scripting?
After all, what's a hack without some good original scripts?
