How does everybody know of Arceus.

I am confused. In the Pokedex books, there are only 490 Pokemon. Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus are not in there. So can somebody please tell me how everybody found out about Arceus?

Was it an episode in the anime? An interview with the pokemon staff?

Ugh, I am dying to know.

Ugh... hacking? I would imagine someone used a code for a full Pokedex and voilà, Arceus was the last Pokemon. Through even more hacking, the Azure Flute can be discovered to allow entry to the Hall of Origin. I know Arceus cannot be obtained through the E4 Glitch, so the other solution is hacking.

i know about arceus *spelling* because i used AR (i know T.T i only used it for a few cheats) and caught it. and i saw the pokedex entry. also just googleing it.

I believe I can sum the reason how everyone knows in two one-word answers:

I suppose the most logical explanation would probably be the AR code for the full Pokedex. The data for Arceus was in the D/P game and when the full Pokedex cheat was used, Arceus appeared. Then they probably hacked to get him.

Its a shame. Arceus would have been a mind-blowing surprise if Nintendo legitimately released him and everyone saw him for the first time. Would have been uber cool.

As the other posters above mentioned-Game Freak & Nintendo told us. Otherwise, we have a lot of sources to now about the Legendary, normal, god Pokemon.

I actually found out about it from a friend of mine telling me about it, I did not believe him at first, so I looked on Google and found out he was right.

My answer is sorta dumb I learned of arceus by my younger brother... he never shut up about it when he found it... so that's how i learned of arceus..
