A couple notes to our readers:
1) This is a GAME and not a hack
2) Made in RMXP (RPG Maker XP) with poccil's famous RMXP Pokemon starter kit (http://www.upokecenter.com/projects/pokestarter)
3) No betas, no alphas. Just a single, final release. That release period will be revealed before the release, so there's no throwbacks or sudden popups, but it will not be given right now.

Hey, why don't we take a minute for an Introduction?
Welcome, I am Collosalpokemon, the "leader," as one would call it, of Pokemon Origin. The main goal for Pokemon: Origin Version is to "take you back through the Origins of Pokemon" with stronger opponents, new features, old and new rivals, bigger cities, and new graphics. BOOOOOOOOOOOORING. What makes this game so different from all of the others?
Well, you might be asking that. I know that most of the Pokemon game's are similar to the next ones. Origin has a FULLY FUNCTIONAL Dual Screen system as well as a BRAND NEW feature that no one has ever accomplished in RMXP, an (almost) fully functional DSi REMAKE, but for RMXP.

The DSi remake is named the DS! after the DSi. I will release further details in the future, but for now, just sit tight.

Let me begin with the fact that Origin has 5 regions; Johto, Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Orre. As well as a sub-region, the Orange Islands. Each with the ability of having an Underground and quite a bit more.
Each region has it's own, unique areas added and remodeled. With that said, the Elite 4 returns strong. With 4 rounds (a chance to heal after each match, off of a "wheel of fortune") before versing the actual Elite 4 members. Therefore, there are now 16 people to fight, 12 being semi-battles and 4 of them are the Elite 4.
With it's name being reimbursed, Orre returns with a full snagging feature. These shadow Pokemon know moves that normal Pokemon can't know, but have locked hearts, and the only way to purify these "Shadow Pokemon" is to take them to a special lab off of a port in Orre. Otherwise, you are not allowed to take these shadow Pokemon outside of Orre due to their illegal status.
A banking system gets brought throughout every region in Origin, allowing you to have (not carry though) more money than most other games. The bank can loan you money, store money you already have, and allow you to withdraw money you've stored.
The Game, Pokemon: Origin also features a wide variety of legendary Pokemon, all of them are obtainable in one way or another, whether it be by Online capabilities, giveaways, or catching them in-game, they're available.
With every Pokemon game comes TMs and HMs, Origin will have the all of the Original TMs but features slight changes in the HMs;
HM01 - Cut - Cuts down trees
HM02 - Fly - Allows you to flying to other cities
HM03 - Surf - Surfs on water
HM04 - Strength - Moves (or pushes) boulders
HM05 - Defog - Clears up fog
HM06 - Earthquake - Delivers a booming quake to the ground to smash special breakable rocks and/or walls within 10 movement spaces.
HM07 - Waterfall - Climbs waterfalls
HM08 - Rock Climb - Climbs rockwall-like surfaces
One way a person can get legendary Pokemon includes roaming species, they are tricky to locate due to the Pokedex's unability to track moving Pokemon. How do you find them??? That will be revealed soon...
Detailing back to the DS! mentioned earlier, a special series of WI-FI gifts will be available on certain dates. They might be an app for the DS!, or a pokemon/item/misc. for Origin. The WI-FI also includes battles, chatting, and trading with friends.

Sinnoh's stories:
Sinnoh's Freezing Story:
Many Years ago, a Pokemon arrived in our world (Sinnoh), it ripped a dimensional hole on Mt. Coronet while entering, making sinnoh freezing cold while the hole hit the sinnoh region. The Pokémon was supposedly a Giratina, its cry was heard throughout sinnoh, but no one truthfully knew what it was. Dialga and Palkia seemed to have summoned it for but one reason; sinnoh's peace had disappeared, and the so called Giratina was supposed to fix the balance between humans. It roamed sinnoh for many years, until one day it vanished. No one knew where it went nor when the date it truely left sinnoh.
Sinnoh's Current Story:
Now, the climate has hit frozen again, and there have been rumors around sinnoh of the pokémon's return. No one knows if this is true, but team Galactic has been hiding something, possibly the Pokémon from the Sinnoh Freeze Report years ago? Hikers report the cry of the Pokémon coming from Mt. Coronet, but the Police have found nothing.
Hero's Main Story:
The Player has to fill up their Pokédex with data from Pokemon all over the world, bring down Team Galactic, AND solve to mystery of the Pokémon that was sent to sinnoh supposedly by Dialga and Palkia. With the freezing climate due to the unknown pokémon the players have to be in new outfits. Venturing through sinnoh will be a challenge this time because routes now have split directions, leading to what or where is currently unknown. The player will notice that the routes are longer, the cities got larger, and the people are getting stronger. Will the Pokémon be found? Will team Galactic succeed in capturing it? Will sinnoh remain freezing? This is all up to your choices.

Website Developers - 0 positions
This is a job that is probably the most important one, as this will be used to contain all the information on DreamTek, including game downloads and more!
Enterior Designers -4 positions
People who can alter already made furniture, and produce new kinds of furniture. That includes walls, chairs, tables, plants, windows, and anything else that would be indoors. This furniture will be able to be bought at furniture stores across the Pokemon World, and there are going to be approximately 15 different companies.
Concept Mappers - 2 positions
You will be drawing up concept maps for cities, towns and routes, that will incorperate the layouts from the main anime and the games. Send in the city you would like to make and if applicable, and if nobody else has been assigned that city/town, you may.
Tile Artists - 4 positions
I will only accept professional tile artists. The tiles must be neatly designed, and must have that type of pokemon sense about them. I will also look over each tile, and may suggest changes or revisions if nessesary. I also will be assigning city tile set projects that wil require tiles being made to look a certain way occasionally. You most likely will partake in the creation of cities and towns,however you may be assigned something else...
Overworld Spriters - 2 positions
This position is very important. I need people who can make many different variations of overworld sprites of NPC's, and also custom overworld sprites.
Character Sprite Alterator - 5 positions
This also is very important. People who wish to fill this category must be able to create in-battle trainer sprites.
Custom Character Sprite Designer - 4 positions
You must be able to design custom people from the anime, and other things. People who wish to make custom trainers must be of the very best caliber, the custom character sprites must look authentic. You may choose the trainer you wish to design.
Pokemon Variant Conceptors - 3 positions
This is a very special field. Your ideas must be at least somewhat realistic. These changes must be minor. This is one of my favorite factors about this game, I expect great creators for this field.
Website Developers - 0 position
A special field indeed.For this field you must be able to create a better website for team G.P., you still need to apply for this though.
Music Composer - 1 position
Another very special field. For this Job you must be able to create/edit music professionally as gaming music is always a pleasure to hear if its good.
Other - ? positions
Got any other jobs that are NOT on the list you think would be any good, send em` in and see if their good enough to be in the game.

Thanks you guys for positive reinforcement, but to answer a few questions:
- No new pokemon(unless you count the new rotom, giratina, and shaymin formes)
-Starters are: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup.

Just going to say a few things. I usually just go around here and read threads and dont post. I follow a couple of games on these forums but it looks like they will take years to finish and really develop slow and the game is original.
But this game at first sight I thought hmm another person who thinks he can make a good game and will have a crap game but after reading it and if you do implement the stuff you are talking about i simply cant wait. I really mean this when i say good luck, i was hoping their be a demo but i aint too bothered but this game looks very interesting. quick question? are ALL pokemon catchable? and may i suggest some things? try making a system for more than 4 moves...eg lev 1-40 max 4 moves pokemon can learn- up to 50- 5, 60- 6...
always which starters are available? all gens? and finally try to make a actual random pokemon league system in the end where there are say 100 trainers which the computer randomly chooses 1 etc

I SWEAR IT WONT BE ONE OF THOSE CRAP ONES, ITS GOING TO BE GREAT.
90% of legends are catchable, the rest are event givaways, all pokemon are obtainable in some way or another, by event or by actually finding them. I am not an extreme scripter so I don't know how to make pokemon learn more than 4 attacks at once.Thank you for the encouragement.

Your rowan sprite for the intro looks kind of blurry (you can see the line around it). Looks like a good game so far, though.

How do you add ini files to a Pokemon Emerald ROM. I have the INI file in a pokemon emerald folder, with the game. How can I put them together so I can use advanced text and have it completely done..

the features are great, so is the story. but i must say this was excecuted horribly!
for one your using dp sprites with fire red graphics, that doesn't work! use keyldoves tileset, also resize the rowan sprite in the intro, it is way to small!
sorry if i was harsh.......

They're not in rpg xp format. You'll have to do that yourself. It's not that hard, i've done it myself.

EVERY Feature has ALREADY been looked over and thought of anyway players can bypass these feature, calculated and anything else, including the entire flying factor.
I might not be a tilesetter, but I know how to make games.

If you still need the Sinnoh Tiles, look in 4th Gen Matt's Resource Pack topic.
Also, regarding your maps... They seem to be too roomy, especially the inside ones. Try adding furniture or shrinking the size of the map.

I am working on the tiles, the maps are outdated, and I couldn't do anything yesterday as I was hacked and booted out, though I am back on track today.

This game seems quite interesting, but it does need A LOT of work.
The first screenshot looks fine, but the mapping needs an immense amount of work, even for a a small, indoor map.
The second screenshot looks like it was just simply done in Paint with a few random tools. The text isn't centered, as well.
The third screenshot looks like you just took the starter kit, removed the background, added one color, and added a smaller Rowan (even when RPG Maker XP takes 2x images), without even bothering with text.
The fourth screenshot looks very odd, because you just used Ruby cave tiles and put D/P overworlds on it.
You also say that you made the images to .JPEG files to prevent stealing, but there is nothing to steal. Even games like Pokémon Amethyst, Acanthite, etc. make their images .PNG files, and don't worry about someone stealing from them.

Well, I know the graphics that you point on are poor; I made better ones, I just kept those as place holders until the real ones were done so I could meet the requirements, they will not be used in game, will update with better maps, etc... today.

1) Well, the Orange Islands might, as there are no real nintendo games with them.
2) Every pokémon will be obtained somehow, I cannot release any more info on this as it will be kept secret until the release of different events.
3) Well, the Badges will be from Sinnoh, but the Towns will be made by ourselves.

hey, mate, not sure exactly what type of format you plan on using throughout the whole game, whether it will be traditional or something of your own design. Regardless of what you choose, I suggest that you make the game movement fast. I am specifically thinking about the large difference between fire red/leaf green and diamond and pearl. In fr/lg, the game sequences moved quickly, for example, the transition from free roam into a battle was fast, and then from selecting an attack to executing the attack, to the enemy attacking was fast. In D/P, it was very slow and frustrating. It takes forever to get through simple battles like farming the elite four. So, I suggest that you make your transitions between different screens and options fast, which may seem obvious, but my biggest frustration with D/P was how slow it was, so I thought I'd mention it. =)

Can you please put Crystal Onix in the Orange Islands and the gaint tentacruel from episode Tentacruel & Tentacool and place like Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden if you could put things in like this i would like to help but i don't know how to use the programes (sad face)

Actually all those, discluding the tentacruel, are possible in RMXP. But again, they wouldn't be easy. I would have to get some requests for them.

Well, we do have mappers, and spriters, so if you have idea that everyone would like, I would love to hear it.
Reason being for the other one (about the movie events) is some people hate the movies/T.V. shows. I only dislike the T.V. shows for my own reasons... movie are O.K. . Some other's may have opinions that differ so I want to try to make the game good for everyone.

After failing miserably to catch Dialga and Palkia, team Galaxy Huh? What happened to Team Galactic? is at it again - but for who,what,and where You had better have answers for that...they're dissolved for the most part.??? You need to bring team Galaxy down(Yet again) and with recent climate changes it won't be that easy Okay, so buy an umbrella...or go t0o Hoenn and steal one from a Parasol Lady (or whatever that trainer class is called).. Preparing for your journey you have no choice but to change your suit because of a new icy climate in the area,where the rumered Team Galaxy are supposedly heading to Why is that your business? Your goal was to complete Rowan's pkdex, not to go crimefighting....Battle your way through sinnoh and keep earning up your badges A new set of badges? Doing all eight of the same ones would get boring...and we know that there are >8 badges per region 'cause of all of the different Kanto badges we've seen thus far. Take a location from the anime or something... because after winning the elite 4 you hear of brand new areas such as Johto, and Kanto Just being available to go to. A)so we're not in Sinnoh at all? B)you're seriously having all of those regions? C)how can you keep gameplay interesting while covering so much area? D)can you write an elegant-enough story to prevent pointless adventuring?
A boat comes in at canalave city and the sailor will allow you on to his ship as he rambles on about a new evil team somewhere in the Johto region Wouldn't it work better for you to be speaking to Jasmine in Sunyshore about this? It IS a port (isn't it?), so it would not be a crime to stick a ferry there...... the location and true identities of this evil team are currently unknown to anyone Team Galaxy? ~_~.Johto has had ratical redesign What's with people altering Johto? Just add a few towns... so their location won't be any ordinary picnic to find.So you sail onward to Johto and when you get there there's proffessor Elm in his lab ...wouldn't you end up in Olivine? Long trek if you ask me..., busy as ever, tells you to choose a pokemon(same pokemon as in GCS Nom, it ain't. He gives you a pkmn in GSC 'cause you need it to successfully and safely complete his errand to Mr. Pokemon. He had a reason to give it to you last time. It won't be just adding a few towns; there will be new People, Routes, and Cities. On top of that the old ones will be redesign to be larger and stronger.

The cold climate is; but different regions will have different climates. Such as the Orange Islands might be Boiling hot, so pokemon will need to have alt formes for that.

No, not exactly, some of the events will be by code rather than wi-fi. I predicted some people not being able to use wi-fi who wanted events. Don't worry, I try to program the game to be great for anyone ;)

Besides a great story and good other things, the screenshots sort of fail. :/ I don't really like them. The tiles are okay, yet overused. I'm not saying this game is bad, it just needs graphical help. Get some more screenshots up there, please. ;P

So far... it looks like you've just dreamt up a whole ton of features with no clue how to implement them. Sorry for being harsh, but prove me wrong. All you've got to show are a few very amateurish screenshots; to be honest it looks like you have no idea what you're doing.
If you actually have properly started making this game, you really should show some progress as you haven't given any updates since you posted the topic (nearly a month ago now).

Sweet Honey trees make a return in Pokemon Origin, though instead of % chances, the battles are random!
Percentages are a way of making things random, but giving one a priority. The idea is that something with 10% has less chance than something with 90%, but in the end it's still random. Saying your honey trees 'won't have % chances but are random' is like saying your dice 'won't have 16.7% chance to end up on a 6, but it's random'.

Update, for the third time, let's get it right:
- 1st official SHADOW POKEMON revealed.
- 2nd official VARIANT POKEMON revealed.
- 1st DUAL SCREEN SHOT for the public. I wasn't lying about it.
- More screens and variants will be posted soon.
The dual screen is being developed by a friend, this is why it has the title "Pokemon Essentials" and doesn't have my map in the background. I will hopefully receive the script today. The titlescreen will have an animation to it.

My current beef with the "dual screen" screenshot is the fact that all it looks like you did was change the resolution, and not actually incorporate a working dual screen system.

You can't expect anybody to get things perfect the first time around, not even Captain Arcane.

Yes, its looks like your friend really knows what he was doing, but I ask myself, what's the point of a dual screen on a PC game...? It looks really odd to play at a screen where the height is a lot bigger than the screen width. Anyways, thats still something new here ;p.

Here are some Pokemon Variants that CollosalPokemon might want to use in Pokemon Origin.
Gyrados Variants
The Red Gyrados is found is a special species of Gyrados found near the borders of the Orange Islands. Due to the intense heat of the Orange Islands, the Red Gyrados has to change its skin into a reddish color to protect it from the heat.

The Golden Gyrados is a very rare species of Gyrados. It is only found around the Orange Islands and is very hard to catch. The Golden Gyrados glows brightly in the ocean and you can only catch it at some time of the day. There are only 3 of them to catch, which classify it as "Super Rare" and you can show off to your friends if you ever catch one!

The Rainbow Ninetales is a mythical maybe legendary Pokemon that lived hundreds of years ago. Theres only one of this Pokemon in the game.

I'm sorry, but I don't know anything about pixels or creating hacks or games, so I can't offer any constructive critism for you, but if there's ever anything storywise that you might be confused about I would love to help. Sorry if I seem a bit forward but I enjoy giving out tips or opinions that can help someone grow in what they enjoy doing. I've already enjoyed looking at this storyline and the offered sprites that I'm sure to see in the future game.
I do have a question. When this is released, would we be able to play it with something like VisualBoy or something else?

Its going to take a very long time to complete this game and theres no actually deadline.
When we finish the game, we'll post it up for you to download. You play the game using RGSS Player, which you is included with the download. And I'm not so sure if this game is playable on Visual Boy Advance.

Red Gyarados - Already in all pokemon games; its just a shiny one. No need for it to be a variant.
Golden Gyarados - It looks like too much like a carbon copy of a shiny magicarp. It won't be used.
Rainbow Ninetails - Its fine.

Impressive looking game. I can't wait to try it out. No rush though, so take your time. Snagging, eh? I like it! I've always liked snagging, but I wonder...how do you plan to incorporate it into a battle? Will it be at the end of the battle, the last trainer's pokemon, or will the battle end and then you have to go one on one with the Shadow Pokemon? Regardless, I look forward to release of a alpha, beta, or anything really.

I'm just having my doubts, I personally don't care about it's looks, but do think that the screen is a bit too streched compared to its height. I don't want to be putting anyone off. I had high hopes for this game, and i'm just left dissapointed with the lack of visual aid. You didn't post any updates for a long time and the newest screenshot is just of the title screen, which for me isn't much.

here are my thoughts on this. I agree that the resolution could be a bit smaller. but by no means am I taking their side. your right they could have said it in a better manner. I too want to see more proof of the dual screen, not because I dont believe but because I want to see your game in the dual screen mode thingy lol. but again they were a bit mean about it

Ok...I would like to give you some friendly advice. You should resize the height of your game window to at least 640 pixels. That's my height, and I'm still having alot of trouble fitting in all the things needed. You do need that extra height, especially if the screenshot was taken in essentials 480 x 320 resolution. I don't think that you'll be able to fit the complicated things such as a battle system into that window. It's a bit too small.

Nice update CP, I really dig the new features. It appears that you are using the platinum tiles ripped directly from NO$GBA, and I suggest revamping them a little bit so they look less blurry(but not to take away the 3D visual effect).

I know that I've been really late at updates and all, nearly a month goes by before there is one small one, but I will attempt to not let this happen. I have a busy life but I enjoy computers, so I will start this small thing right now and ammend the update very, very soon with more shots and info:

Wai.......what's the Ranger menu about? Aren't we using HGSS or DPPt styled menus? Yes and no, it's all part of a unique feature for custom gameplay in which I will reveal screenshots of probably tonight. But for now, keep this in mind: 4 Styled. More will be revealed upon the pictures which will be either tonight or tomorrow. The graphics in the Save Screen are most likely going to change, so they will be different from HGSS. (what is in the current shot)

First and foremost, the upper left picture is the DPPt styled menu...right next to it is the image you have already seen, but as a reference I put it up again. Third is the HGSS Styled Menu. Of course, I'm showing the Debug Mode Icon as you all should know, that will not be available in your game for should-be-obvious reasons. ;) You may be asking yourself, why are you showing so many menus? Are we/I supposed to see which one we'd like best? Or maybe are we/I just supposed to look at the possibilities?
The answer is no, it's a new part of the menu engine in which you can literally customize your menu. If you like DPPt, choose that version. If you like HGSS, choose said version. There are only 4 versions to choose from, hence I revealed 3 and not 4 so the final one is still a mystery, to choose from BUT each menu has 3 different styles to it...so the menu system is completely based on choice.

As you can all see, the item receiving system has been updated. Also, sorry for the text box issues (they are misaligned) I did this in a rush before the week was over...I'll fix that.
The image above shows a change in the way you receive items, now there will be a small bag with various colors depending on the bag pocket that the found item goes in. At the end of the message a little jingle plays like D/P/Pt/HG/SS as well.

Looks like an excellent system so the player won't have to check if the item is the key item needed or just a plain item if they can't read english. I just love that system and I have one question, if you want to are you willing to share me that dual screen script in PM? I will give full credit if you want. But you don't have to give it to me.

I'm sorry to say this but I don't like the way your game looks at all. The resolutions are really bad and everything is too pixelated. I don't like your tiles one bit and they look very awkward. I also sincierly dislike your ideas. The bag system is not special at all and the bag images look terrible and their position is also bad. You haven't made any use out of the bottom screen and the menus just look ugly. Also for the bag you mentioned that it is there to help people that don't read english understand which bag they put their item in. Well that's just very stupid because how is any person supposed to know what the colors mean. Now imagine you are in their situation: You can't read english and then an ugly colored bag appears when you pick up and item. How is that supposed to help at all? I'm sorry but there is just nothing attractive about this game. The graphics are bad and ugly. The resolution is not approperiate. And you haven't showed us much appart from those insignificant features you like to brag about. How long have you been supposedly working on this and yet you can't show one single screenshot of any other systems like the battle one. My 8-year-old brother is able to do the features that you have stated and if he were to fake them I'm sure that it would look better.

Well well well, here's something that might help people understand I haven't been lying at all about the Dual Screen engine; A 1 minute 3 second video:

Ok...my first reaction when I saw the post was like: "Yes...OMG! Finally a video to see what there is in the game!" Then I started it and there was the loading screen, which looks cool btw, and then the real deal. Then again, I'm left dissapointed. Just when I though finally, it can't get any better than the video, well it can acctually. This video again shows us almost nothing. Let me get to my points:
1. There was not much going on, you could at least have showed us the new menus and saving stuff, but instead there was just walking going on
2. Twinleaf town isn't mapped well. It is tooooooo big and there are vast and unused spaces open.
3. Also, you could have used the bottom screen more during the standby (map scene), I mean put more of your new features on it while on the map, or even the simple HGSS menu.

This game looks very promising, but I think it's a little bit raw at the minute. While the ideas and implementation are fairly solid, there's a lack of finesse throughout. For example, on your latest screenshot (http://collosalpokemon.pokemondaisuki.com/images/Pkmn_Origin%20LoadScene.bmp), I can see that the badges and text are double size, but the background isn't, which makes it look blocky and poorly designed, but it's only a simple fix. The same thing applies comparing the bottom screen background with play. I could go on about that, but I think you get the idea.
I also have to agree with Luka about the mapping, but I'd assume that's just a tester map. However, the building art, as PokeGamer mentioned, doesn't fit at all, and some actually look lopsided in places. If you're looking to implement the 3D style, I'd recommend using 874521's tiles (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=189708) instead, but that's up to you.
On a different note, I really like the bag idea, but I think it needs to perhaps be bigger or more obvious (perhaps a background similar to the VS trainer bar would look good), as it currently looks like it's just been dropped on Lucas' head. :P
Finally, your signature image is huge, so change it before you're pulled up on it ;)

I noticed much of what you are saying, this was meerly to show that the movements and DS was down and not so much the game engines. I plan on making on of those soon, since I have a new trainer card and pokemon selection screen pretty much down. Again, I noted that the map, as NikNaks said, is a "test" map. The next video will have more gameplay and engines to show. I might also add something new to the Load scene if I get the time but that's not really a priority for now.

Hmmm....I'm sure that I left a comment earlier today. Never mind. I have to say that the trainer case/card/whatever looks mighty impressive. I really don't know where you found/or how you made those badges and trainer faces but they are superb. I was acctually looking for those ages, but never found any so gave up on the D/P trainer card style. It looks really good and I really do like the badges. Hope everything continues great like this.
EDIT: Oh stupid me! Didn't read your full post. I see that Hall of Famer made those. Anyways great job to both of you.
ANOTHER EDIT: Regarding your date thing. RMXP is really messed up in that perspective, and updates Time and Date every second. This will make that section with the script very, very laggy (I know from personal experience). I don't know how you'll go around that but it's just a heads up.

Finally, I get back to Origin. I apologize for it being near another month but the school year has started and I, and I'm sure most of you, have been busy with school. However, while I had free time without internet connection I did do some cool stuff that I would like to present in two screenshots:

The map used in Roark's battle sequence is not permanent, I am still making tiles (& compiling) but it does show an intro sequence. I plan on redoing it to make it better but this should give you a pretty good idea of what it will look like. I'll upload a video if I can visually proving it actually exists (because anyone can easily just show an image in an event). The battle scene needs work as well, such as brightening up the text and adding a Pokemon's icon to the words "Fight." Thankfully I'll have more time now to work on it so I should update on that soon as well.
To reiterate my last update, the bag was displayed as well as the key item EXPLORER KIT (Yes, it does infact work 8D) and here is a shot of the bag:
