Bold indicates a recently added rule.

No posting/linking to porn.
No swearing, or censor bypass (d@mn, etc)
No linking to forums in your posts, only in your signature is it allowed.
Also no linking to forums through PMs, only your signature may be used.
No bashing anyone else or their belief, whether or not you agree.
No using "gay" as a slur or in any demeaning way.
Respect everyone on the board.
Avoid duplicate topics. Be sure there has not been a topic recently that has the same subject as the one you are making.
Polls go in their respective forums, if they have one. An example is "Favorite Pokémon" goes in Pokémon general. "Do you have a pet?" goes in Mixed Voting Polls.
Political and sexual topics do not belong here. For that matter, try to avoid these issues in posts as well. However, we have a special forum for discussing mature subject matter. Check this thread for details: http://pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=14715
Avoid double posting (Posting twice in a row when no one else has replied, making it so two of your posts are in a row)
All posts is to have a minimum of four words or more in each post (unless it is in Fun time in PokéLand! where posts don't count for the total post count).
ROMs of any game, Pokémon or not, are prohibited. This is gone into greater detail in the ROMs section. Please also avoid warez discussion or trading.
The maximum image size for signatures is 500x300. You can have multiple images this size so long as vertical ones don’t stack on top of each other and breech the limit, and horizontal ones aren’t next to each other and breech it. To see how large you image is, right click it and select properties. This image is 500x300 http://members.cox.net/celes/White.png
Please do not "overreturn" your signature. That is, do not use too many "carriage-returns" or lines in your signature. Do not have a signature with too many lines of text, for example a whole list of friends, aligned to the center and with a return for each name. Avoid this and use commas or "|" or anything else for that matter. Avoid "double-spacing" or using long paragraphs, rather condense them instead and use normal returns.
Trainer cards are to be asked for here (http://pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=62)
No warez. That is, no software that's cracked or posting of Serial Numbers, etc.

(Rules were put together by Kairi, and edited by multiple S-Mods as for revision.)

But... But! Aren't you allowed to ask your friends to mod?
Because you can't go in your sig:
Join my forums! Also, ScArLetSkye, could you please join and be an admin? Same with you Legendary_Pokégirl?

Because if we did that, it would be unfair...

Hiroshi Sotomura
August 20th, 2004, 06:34 PM
Umm... the rules only state no advertising forums through PMs.

Jesus Freak Josh
August 20th, 2004, 06:37 PM
OK. That works! Thanks Satoshi! Australian helping Australian! Wonderful! XD
So the PM would go:
Scarlet,
Could you mod my forums? The link is in my sig...

-Batesy

Right?

Hiroshi Sotomura
August 20th, 2004, 06:52 PM
Err... if the member was at the forum, then maybe. For that case, it could work, but we're really only trying to stop those mass forum PMs.

Paperfairy
August 20th, 2004, 07:37 PM
What if your friend wanted a link to a forum. Is that okay? It's not mass-forum.......

Lightning
August 20th, 2004, 07:37 PM
Yeah... the rule is only in place to stop people from PMing random members with a message like, "Join my forums! <forum url>" Those get really annoying... but since you would be PMing a friend or someone that you know, it would be okay in that situation. ^_^;

And where's the "Dont Make a Thread Asking for a Trainer Card!" Rule? XD

Koroku
August 21st, 2004, 08:36 PM
There should be enough stickies around for them to realize that...

Glad to see the rules are up now. ^^;

Precisely the reason I'm hoping the whole Trainer Cards thing deteriorates. A "Looking for trainer cards?" thread in New Users/Welcome? I'm even yet to unsticky that, it being irrelevant to the entire community. Trainer card topics pop up because we are promoting them, okay? What I want is to see them demoted. :-p

Koroku
August 21st, 2004, 11:01 PM
[color=purple]The sticky was put in Newbie land because there was a time when there were a bunch of threads in there asking for Cards. Aussy got tired of them, and I wrote up that sticky.[/colro]

Who started the entire craze anyway? I'm looking to sue the responsible person.
Okay, I'm only joking at that point. The topics appearing everywhere is just angering me though. Questions and Feedback, Technical Institute, where else? @@;;

Hopefully, now that they have their own forum, it won't happen much anymore. ~^-^~

Lol, I'm sure the TCfad is almost over, but then some other new fad'll come instead (remeber the spoiler buttons?) I got a pm once or twice asking how to make a spoiler...

I remember an old fad: MoonLight providing neat avatars. Did we make an avatars forum when it was very popular and people started making like 30 of them? No.

Koi_Rebekka
August 22nd, 2004, 06:16 PM
Oh yeah! Now I remember! Oh YEAH!! I forgot. Who KNOWS what'll be next. I dunno, but I'll be the first one to get it! (cause`no one likes what I make!)

I'm only hoping someone actually takes heed to see the big point I'm making.

Koroku
August 22nd, 2004, 07:19 PM
ŹŹ

There is no way to stop it. If you want it to die out, then too bad, because it isn't happening. There are continuously, especially with the free templates out now, people asking for opinions on how they did.

It isn't something you can just stop with 2 clicks of a button.

(And BTW, I still get asked how to make "those little buttons")

Koi_Rebekka
August 22nd, 2004, 08:02 PM
I know, I get pm's like that all the time!
Why do people always ask ME?
heh, I have an idea, but it's in the works. I SERIOUSLY doubt it'll become popular, but hey, look at Quizzila! (Gomen Ne for "advertising") or the guy who made underwear.
I mean, only time will tell until the next big thing hits PC...

*sigh* One stupid little thread starts an entire craze. No better than RM2K... @_@;;

Most new forums that come are gonna be on a test basis anyway for a while, so bleh.

Koroku
August 23rd, 2004, 11:04 AM
And most new forums that have popped up are doing pretty well. :P

The Trainer Cards forum is on a different trial, JKaizer. I do believe Kwesi didn't approve of it.

Who started the entire craze anyway? I'm looking to sue the responsible person.
I posted the below reply in the TCard thread that was posted in the Questions & Feedback section of PC. I guess you missed it... So, to answer your question:

Trainer Cards was a craze. A craze which sopmeone started. They, unlike Pokémon, don't last very long. But why promote it so it lasts forever? It's a mere joke.
1st off, I started the "fad" as you like to call it & whether it truly is a "fad" remains to be seen. You can't actually call anything a fad until it has died, unless of course your stating your opinion. Is that what your doing Satoshi-kun, stating your opinion?

Furthermore, I'm not sure if you were referring to the sub-forum or the TCards, but either way, I don't appreciate my "fad" being called a "mere joke". I put a lot of time & effort into making TCards for people when I 1st introduced them to PC. Though I no longer make them for people, JKaizer is currently continuing my efforts & it should be noted he is also spending a lot of time making TCards.

Maybe you didn't realize this, but TCards have been beneficial to PC. How you may ask? - New members. When I was still making TCards I got so many PMs from people who had just registered wanting a TCard. They'd ask, "Hi! I'm from Serebii forums. I hear your making cards for people here at PC... Can you plz make me one?", or something very similar. Sometimes I still get the occasional new member PM TCard request.

TCards aren't just for getting new members to register to whatever board they are being made on though. Members love them because they express their love for Pokemon in a more personal way via card customization - B-dates, Real names, Pets name, Fav Pokemon, Hobbies, etc.

So *Takes a deep breath* I wish you wouldn't make light of something I'm proud of creating. *Breaths out*

Okay, I'm only joking at that point. The topics appearing everywhere is just angering me though. Questions and Feedback, Technical Institute, where else? @@;;
Come now Satoshi-kun, this is a Pokemon forum after all. I'm sure you know that the majority of the posters here are around 9 - 12 years old. Short attention span anyone? They find it boring to read FAQs & Rule threads. They prefer figuring out things as they go rather than save themselves from being scorned by Admins. I'm not saying that’s right, but little annoyances like that do come along with being a part of a forum geared towards younger kids.

Why am I even saying all this? I don't know... I guess I'm in a "Give Satoshi-kun a hard time" mood or something. XD

Hiroshi Sotomura
August 23rd, 2004, 11:00 PM
I'm not calling your trainer cards a mere joke, I was stating opinion on the Trainer Cards forum. I'm not gonna sue anyone, really.

Sorry Tendo.

Meh, I turned signatures off so I couldn't see those space-takers.

New moderators eh? Welcome to the team, JKaizer and Tendo! (Mood swings... O_o; Why do I always hate things then end up liking them? [Oh well, I initially dispised Shadow...] XD )

Quick Q. Since it doesn't say, can I put two banners in a signature? I am so used to Serebii's rules, I'm thinking one is allowed. But, I'm not too sure. Can someone help me with that?

As long as they don't go over the picture limit of 500 x 300, then yeah. Theoretically you can have 150000 pictures if they're all one pixel wide or something. But... yeah... as long as it doesn't exceed the requirements then you should be fine. ^_^

Probably so that people wouldn't start spamming in it just to raise their post count.
