An Introduction to Lime

The player is based in a small hometown, known as Bloomsberry, on an island.
Players explore the island, progressively unlocking more of it as they complete tasks, such as beating a gym, or doing work for some of the island's other citizens.[/css-div][/css-div]
The Story

A local bridge was destroyed, things are being stolen from homes, people are found passed out, and the only memory they have when they wake up is battling something, something strange.
It's reported people have even been going missing...
Would a Pokémon be doing this? Is it a group of people like the infamous Team Rocket? Could it even be something more sinister..?
The hero must explore the island, and uncover the secret behind the strange events, if that means risking their life to save the people of the island, then that's what must be done!
So, as they explore, more and more clues will be uncovered, and they will eventually be led to the epic climax of the game, in which the whole island's fate depends.
Can the player ultimately save the island and the lives of his friends? Will their team of captured and befriended Pokémon be enough to stop whatever's out there?

Well, not everything is covered in the first post.
You'll find out why and how he attempts to save everything if you play the game.

This actually looks pretty good. Nice thread presentation, as well.

Clever idea. I love your variation on the traditional formula. I'll look forward to see how this progresses :)
EDIT: I think some of your tiles are a LITTLE bright, even with a name like Lime! Try and tone that down a little perhaps.

I know, however, it's difficult because I'm working on two different computers that have completely different brightness and it's not too bright on either of them.
It's also using official Pokemon colours so I don't know.

Also, while more team members aren't necessary at the moment, a Scripter would be much appreciated, so if you have the talent please apply.
(We specifically need someone who can adjust the resolution and change the position of objects on the battle screen.)
We will be revealing some maps soon, once our custom tileset is more complete.

I gotta say, the first thing that hooked me about this thread were the graphics and color. The past few weeks (while I was still a lurker) I seemed to keep frequenting the threads with eye catching graphics. This was one of those threads.
Besides the graphics, the screen shots were very good. I really liked the title screen.
I wish you luck with this project and I hope everything goes well on it. :)

Screen converted to DP size.
that is seriously all I need to continue it.
I already attempted this myself, and even learnt a bit of RGSS, but I don't want to spend my time learning the whole thing for this one occasion since so many people already know it.
So you can't say I'm lazy or didn't try, I just don't know how to do it.
And, once that's done, I have an interesting update to post~

Why is it so important? It doesn't really matter what size the resolution is does it? Like it aint bad enough to let the project die is it? Don't be crazy.

I'm still working on it, I just have no interest in releasing it without a decent looking battle system.
I refuse to use stretched sprites, but since I'm using DP Pokemon, I want a DP sized battle screen.
I will not release something that doesn't look as good as it possibly can, and massive sprites fit onto a little screen does not look good.

I dont know why but i want to help you, in the resolution* script in the essentials there is:
class Game_Map
TILEWIDTH = 32
TILEHEIGHT = 32
The d/p tile width and heigh are 40 x 40 so just change that, but the problem is that i still dont know how to change the size of the screen

I FOUND IT. Go to the SpriteResizer script and change the following:
module Graphics
@@width=480
@@height=320
to the desired starting resolution you wanted, and combined with the 40x40 thing you can use the d/p sprites too ( i think).

That's right, a reputation system. You'll recognize this if you've played Fable II.
Basically, doing jobs for people, completing plots, beating gyms and so forth will result in you earning Fame.
Fame is an important aspect of the game; some gyms will not let you in without sufficient Fame, while some parts of the story cannot be advanced.
This gives players a chance to explore the game in more detail as they do jobs for people and discover the deeper parts of the region.

He means for the D/P screen size. You have D/P graphics, but a GBA screen size.
By changing the screen size, you mess up the alignment of the menus etc. Here's an example from Amethyst (I haven't redone the bag screen yet):

So this is the Pokemon one you're workin' on; looks nice so far. Just make sure that you don't drive yourself nuts taking on two fangames at once. I'm certain that everyone wants to see both succeed, but not at the expense of your sanity. :P
I like the sound of Bubble Shield for some reason. ^_^

I'd suggest updating your dirt path auto tile. The R/S/E one looks dated x-x Just my opinion~ The game has all together got some nice ideas, and overall decent mapping. Did I already mention I like the shiny battle graphics? x D Sometimes I forget where I reply and where I don't, so sorry for not replying sooner :x

Lime isn't just a color around here, it's the basis for the whole game. Honestly looking at that screen makes my eyes hurt it is so bright in color.

I don't like the palettes either.
You also have to remember, Minish Cap is from the Zelda series, and while the palette may fit the Zelda series, it may not always fit the Pokémon series.

While yes, it is quite bright, it isn't exactly a bad color choice for a Pokemon Game. Just look at the hack section and tell me that a single color doesn't work for Pokemon XD;;
CoN~, I think it's an interesting idea, but perhaps you should soften out a few shades :o I LOVE the tall grass, that color and tile is simply beautiful, and the mountain color blends in rather well... but perhaps you could shade down the main grass a little bit, but still a lime color? So it's still got that nice neon-ish green color, but easier on the eyes. Same with the trees, just base those colors on the color of the grass you intend to use :D
I hope I helped a bit kiddos <3 Great ideas, nice tiles, good colors, they just need to be toned down a little.

Just thought i'd pop by and say how great this game looks. It has such a different feel to many of the fan games bobbing around, maybe thats because of the very different palette style =] (which btw, I love)
