Which two types would you choose to have as your killer team?? And what would they be?
(Apologies if this topic has been done recently before...) ^_^
My Team would be Water/Dragon and would consist of these five:
Seadra
Dragonair
Kingdra
Gyarados
Starmie

Me? I'm pretty confused at first so this is my team setup...
All my pokemon are Defensive and Speed attacker types.
Metagross
Lucario
Milotic
Flygon
Tyranitar
Absol
It depends on the region though, so that is my general.

I'd be a water Pokemon trainer too. :D
Masquerain
It's not a water type, but it evolves from one. It's not the strongest Pokemon out there, I have to admit that. Since the in-game trainers usually send out their weakest Pokemon first, Masquerain will be my lead Pokemon. It's pretty cool though. Serves as a good grass resist.
Sharpedo
Obviously, because Sharpedo is that cool and awesome that it deserves to be on every team. Sharpedo may not have the dream defenses, but can pack quite a punch with high speed and Attack power with a great big Waterfall.
Gyarados
Predictable Pokemon is predictable. Gyarados gives some straight forward offensive power and pretty much is a powerhouse with a Dragon Dance boosted Waterfall, coupled with a good bulk. ;3
Lanturn
We can't go with a full team with every Pokemon weak to electric, now can we? Also pretty annoying and bulky to take down. It deserves a spot on this team.
Milotic
Pretty predictable, but it's bulkiness gives it a good spot on my team. Hard to take down and pretty powerful with a Hypnosis that can be pretty annoying to take down.

Well actually it depends on your choice. I chose 6 'cause it's more of a challenge to the trainers.
Ooh! I forgot the movesets!
Metagross - full fortress and power!
Psychic
Earthquake
Meteor Mash
Light Screen
Lucario - Pure Attack!
Psychic
Aura Sphere
Earthquake
Close Combat
Milotic - great Sp. Def and Sp. Attack.
Surf/Hydropump
Ice beam/Blizzard
Mirror coat/Safeguard
Recover/Aqua Ring
Tyranitar - another Fortress
Crunch
Stealth Rock/Rock Slide
Earthquake
Ice Beam
Flygon - attacker!
Earthquake
Draco Meteor
Flamethrower
Rock Slide
Absol - another attacker but bad Def.
Night slash
Double-edge
Ice beam
Double team

Uh, no...? Elite Four members only carry 5 Pokemon. It's the champion that carries 6 Pokemon (the one you battle at the end; e.g. Cynthia).

Definitely Physcic/Dark
The two types would make up for each other physcic is super effective on fighting types the only weakness towards dark types and dark will take care of ghosts and i could teach one or 2 focus blast and have a gallade to get rid of dark types and here are my pokemon

Well, OF COURSE I HAD NO IDEA :O
It evolves from a Rock-Ground combo, so I consider it a Ground-Type. Besides, Elite Four members don't have to go all the way with their types, as seen in Sinnoh. (You can argue Aaron's Drapion, who is Poison-Dark, but is the strongest of the Bug Elite Four's Pokemon.)

I would specialize in Normal-types and Grass.
Togekiss @ Leftovers
Serene Grace
~ Nasty Plot
~ Air Slash
~ Roost
~ Baton Pass
(Nasty Plot and Roost as needed. Then sweep with Air Slash, and Baton Pass when needed, to either Ludicolo, Bibarel, or Roserade, depending on the situation)
Bibarel @ Expert Belt
Simple
~ Stealth Rock
~ Surf
~ Super Fang
~ Shadow Ball
(Hopefully, Bibarel will recieve the NP boost from Togekiss. Combined with Simple, it is supposed to be quite powerful. Plus the fact that a "OMG, I got KOd by a BIBAREL?!!?" reaction would be really nice.)
Ludicolo @ Damp Rock
Swift Swim
~ Rain Dance
~ Leech Seed
~ Ice Beam
~ Protect
(Made to annoy and stall, and possibly sweep in the rain.)
Roserade @ Leftovers
Natural Cure
~ Rain Dance
~ Weather Ball
~ Sleep Powder
~ Toxic Spikes
(After Ludicolo is done, Roserade is supposed to 1) Sleep the foe. 2) Lay some spikes. 3) Weather Ball like crazy.)
Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
~ Spore
~ Substitute
~ Focus Punch
~ Leech Seed
(Breloom is the last man standing. If all works as supposed, then Breloom can KO anything that switches in on it. With SR support from Bibarel, Toxic Spikes from Roserade, and adding SporeSubPunching with Leech Seed, this should be a nightmare.)
Whew, this took some time. - -'

Just to settle some facts (as to what I consider to be true anyway): the Elite Four all carry five pokemon, the champion six; the elite four all specialise in one type of pokemon but can also use corresponding dual-types of the same kind; and the Elite Four disregard any sense of balance within their teams as their purpose is to test the trainer individually but also altogether as a four-person trial. Not sure if they all use full evolutions though. I'm sure I saw a secondary evolution in one of the games...
That aside, I'd like to specialise in fighting-types. >3

Well, Sinnoh seems to be breaking the code here with basically all the elites having at least one off-theme pick, and in general a case can be made for saying the elites specialize in two types rather than one (Bruno's Hitmons and Onix combo, Agatha - in FR/LG - with pure ghost and poison side-by-side etc.). But yeah, taking this in the narrowest sense of one type I'd go with grass.

They actually don't have more than 4 in the anime, at least not anymore.

You seem to forget that pokemon learn new moves, and forget old ones. Chimchar most recently has Flame Wheel, Dig, Scratch, and Flamethrower. The other moves were older moves that he doesn't use anymore.
Turtwig learned Energy Ball very recently from Kenny and his Breloom. Now, since he's learned it Ash has barely used him so it's hard to say which move he's forgotten. Ever since he learned it it seems that's the only move he actually uses.

that is a fair point but he wont forget fire spin- that is a high leveled move, but it is used rarely. he could still use those moves if he wanted too.
but you do have a point and you may be correct. my personal view is when high leveled pokemon come into the anime they have more than 4 moves which is why i am surprised pikachu doesnt use more than 4 moves in battle dimension. I think we just have to wait and see.
But you are talking about what move is used often. however, that doesn't mean they have forgotten the older moves. It is like pikachu- he has used thunder in diamond and pearl once in the eleckid episode so that makes 5 for him. I think the anime try to make higher evolved pokemon have about 6-7 moves at times while the lower have 4-5

I think it is due to the absence of Fire-type pokes in Sinnoh. (Yet I have no experience with the changes in Platinum, so correct me on this if I am wrong)
But, every poke he owns does know a fire-type move.
Drifblim knows Will-O-Wisp. Steelix knows Fire Fang, Lopunny knows Fire punch, and both of them know Sunny Day.
So I suppose he is kind of a fire-type pokemon, but looking for fire-types in Sinnoh is like searching for braincells in a Rhyhorn.
(Hint, almost impossible)

Imagine a Water/Grass-Type Elite 4 Trainer. That would probably be the sickest thing in Pokemon. :p
Lv56, Sceptile - Leaf Blade, Solarbeam, Protect, Giga Drain
Lv55, Vileplume - Solarbeam, Petal Dance, Protect, Toxic
Lv54, Ludocudo - Solarbeam, Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Waterfall
Lv56, Golduck - Protect, Psychic, Hypnosis, Rest
Lv55, Gyarados - Waterfall, Outrage, Shock Wave, Protect
No one would stand a chance.
